The DM604 S2 is a full 3-way system with an aluminum dome tweeter, one woven Kevlar cone midrange driver and two paper/Kevlar cone bass drivers. The midrange driver, operating in its own isolated chamber within the cabinet, is totally relieved of the excursion demands of bass signals, so distortion levels stay low even at high playback levels. The two bass-only drivers incorporate our ‘mushroom’ dustcap construction, where the whole diaphragm structure is stiffened in girder fashion by using a large diameter dustcap and extending the voice coil bobbin to join and stiffen it at the center.
