I bought this radio in March, 2007, and it is everything that I wanted. It has a compact size, but I am sure the alert would wake me from a dead sleep, even though I have it in the next room. It was easy to set up. I use the AM/FM radio all the time.

Purchased this cause I live in a fairly large home in the midwest. This was the first one. My wife set it up and seems to work just fine. We are able to eliminate unwanted warnings. We just use it as an alert radio and not a clock radio so I cannot comment on the clock radio functions. All in all, wrosk just fine for us.

A weather radio is only as good as the strength of your reception. The weather service in Ohio only puts out 500 watts compared to twice that of some states yet despite the fact that I live in a sub-ground apartment near lake Erie this radio pulls in every alert I programmed it to.
I really like the sleek design, nice job Midland. Instructions are easy to understand and you'll have the unit working in no time.
My advice is to write down your local weather code and tape it to the back of the radio so you don't have to go online and look for it later. The good news is that this radio doesn't lose memory function when the back up battery is removed. That it such a pain to deal with with other models.
The alarm is substantial enough to wake me out of a sleep and the AM/FM reception is strong with a nice speaker. There are other features to speak of but my advice to you is to buy this unit. It's well designed and looks great anywhere in the house or boat

This unit was easy to install, so much better than the old Radio Shack unit I had. Easy to program to your area. If I have any complaint, its only with the small slide switch to turn on and off the alarm, its hard to use, other than that we like the unit.

I like these DVDs ordered but the last few shipments have arrived with cracked cases. Fortunately the DVDs weren't scratched. The packaging needs to be better for items this heavy.

I have used over 24 discs so far and I've only had trouble with one, but I'm not sure if it was the disc itself or the movie I was burning. Overall the product has worked wonderfully. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but I believe I made the right decision for me. I will probably end up buying another 100 disk set as soon as this one runs out.
Unusable!.......2007-06-19
I had used TDK DVD-R blanks many times before so I ordered this without hesitation. To my complete shock, these DVD-R discs, made by Ritek of Taiwan for TDK, were completely unusable in various DVD burners: Matsushita, NEC, Toshiba, Sony, etc. I tried over a dozen blanks in these burners, using different DVD burning programs on different computers (and a set-top burner), and not a single disc was usable.
Avoid this TDK 100-pack like a plague.
I bought a 60-pack Playo DVD-R spindle at Staples and every one of the 10 or so discs I've burned had absolutely no problems.

You know? . . . I check out the discs in the stores and there must be two dozen makes, all about the same features, and ALL costing 5 to 10 times as much as these TDK Electronics disks. I use these for my own movies of family, sports, and travel. This is the third 100 lot size I have purchased, and NOT ONE FAILURE! So, why would I buy at the higher prices? Why would you?

I have not encountered any bad burns with any of the discs in this spindle since I ordered them. I use mine for data archiving purposes and to make DVDs of home movies I record. They have served me well for these tasks.

In its own right, the Creative Zen Vision:M is a very capable digital audio player, video player, photo viewer, FM radio, and more. Indeed, one could go on and on about how it has the right specifications to make it a constant companion for entertainment on the go. The really big news about this device, though, is that it's the first device to boast complete compatibility with Amazon Unbox, the new digital video and music download service from Amazon.com.

Design Let's get things out in the open. The Apple iPod is the 800-pound gorilla when it comes to the digital media player business and, unavoidably, every other device is measured against it. In most respects, the Vision:M matches up pretty well, and there are few things you may even like better. Length and width dimensions are exactly the same at 4.1 and 2.4 inches respectively. When it comes to girth, though, the iPod has the Vision:M beat; the Vision:M is .7 inches thick, while the iPod measures .4 inches. The Vision:M is slightly heavier, too. These details aside, the Vision:M feels comfortable, yet sturdy, in the hand, with curved surfaces in all the right places.
Creative takes a somewhat different approach with the Vision:M's controls, answering the iPod's Click Wheel with a vertical touch pad--which allows you to scroll up and down menus and control volume--plus four buttons that offer navigation through the user interface. The contextual menu button on the bottom right is a welcome addition, allowing you to make quick settings changes and view information about media files on the fly--functions that are more cumbersome on an iPod. Creative could have made the buttons a bit more sensitive--they require a firm press that gives an overall feeling of clunkiness to an otherwise well-designed user interface. Another annoyance is the touch pad's over-sensitivity; it's easy to make selections unintentionally, sending you on a wild ride through the user interface.
The Vision:M's screen, which measures 2.5 inches diagonally, offers sharp details, vibrant color, and excellent response with little or no video ghosting during high-action sequences. The 320 x 240 resolution is to be expected from a device this size, and although it's small, you'll likely have no trouble enjoying video while you're sitting on the subway or a flight, or in the back-seat of a car. Our only nitpick was the screen's less than stellar viewing angle, especially when compared side-by-side with a video iPod. While this can be good for maintaining privacy, the narrow viewing angle also means that friends beside you will struggle to see anything other than a black screen.
Music, Videos, Photos, and More The Vision:M's music organization scheme is standard fare; you can browse playlists, artists, tracks, albums, and genres. Equalizer settings are robust, with a nice range of automatic settings, plus a custom equalizer that's easy to control. The music library's "DJ" function is a nice touch, allowing you to listen to your most popular tracks. It can also pull up the tunes you listen to least frequently--in case you've got some forgotten tunes lying around on the Vision:M's 60 GB hard drive. Sound quality is everything you'd expect from a top shelf digital audio player, and DRM'd Windows Media files played without a hitch. The device fully supports a whole range of "PlaysForSure" download and subscription services, such as Napster and Yahoo Music. Creative also ships a CD-ripping and music transfer application called MediaSource with the Vision:M.
Playback of Windows Media DRM'd video files (WMV9) was also hassle-free. Purchased videos delivered crisp colors and detail, with no frame drops. Video playback consumes a lot of power, bringing Creative's claim of four hours of video playback into serious doubt. Expect under three hours when watching videos continuously. Thankfully, if you need to come back to your video later the Vision:M's software remembers the timecode of where you left off--unless you power the device down between viewing sessions. In addition to protected and unprotected WMV files, the Vision:M can play MPEG 1/2/4, Motion-JPEG, DivX 4 and 5, and XviD formats, making it a very flexible device with respect to encoding options.
The Vision:M can also store thousands of photos, letting you browse through them or set up a slideshow. The device's TV-out option comes in handy here, as you can present slideshows on a TV or projector. Videos can be displayed this way, too. An FM radio with easy preset tuning functions and great signal reception, plus a voice recorder feature, round out the extra media features. There's also a handy application on the Vision:M that formats a portion of the drive for use as USB 2.0 mass storage, letting you set aside up to 16 GB for data storage.
Connectivity and Synchronization A Creative Sync Adapter ships in the box with the Vision:M, making it a snap to connect the device to a USB 2.0-capable PC. With the connection made, Windows XP recognized the device right off the bat and Windows Media Player immediately asked us if we wanted to load the PC's music onto the Vision:M. Music management and synchronization has come a long way on the PC, and the experience of organizing and transferring music to and from the Vision:M was, barring a few curious click-through boxes, pretty seamless. The Vision:M also supports synchronization of your Outlook contacts, calendar, and tasks, in case you want to use it as a personal organizer of sorts.
Amazon Unbox Integration To be truly successful, the Vision:M has to be more than a great media device, it has to integrate with Amazon Unbox and make the process feel like second nature. Although the Vision:M was tested using a beta version of Amazon Unbox, things are looking good already. Amazon Unbox and the Vision:M go together like peas in a pod, making the process of purchasing, downloading, and enjoying content on the go a real cinch. The Amazon Unbox Video Player, which queues, downloads, organizes, and plays your purchased movies and TV shows, recognized the Vision:M right off the bat. An icon for the Vision:M appears in the devices panel of the application, and you can immediately begin transferring downloaded content to the device. Once you're all loaded up, the Vision:M offers a great way to bring Amazon Unbox entertainment along for the ride.

this is a great MP# player better then some wate of space ipod i have had this Mp3 for about a year now and i love the screen how clear it is it is great as far a color goes. the built in mic is fun to use but i dont use it much. the fm tuner is cool....and putting music on it is sooo easy no stupid itunes to deal with...dont use the creative software use windows media player to put music on it....anyway i do like the player it just has one MAJOR FLAW.........It Likes to freeze if you push the buttons to many times and it takes for ever to reboot up....also the finish on it is soo touch that it is easily scratched.

Overall it is a good player.
Battery life, size, weight are OK. Sound quality is good. USB disk functionality is very useful and I really love the fact that I do not have to install any software to use it with XP.
However...
Buttons for next, previous and fast forward are unbelievably uncomfortable. They are just terrible. Seems like frame was designed around the touch pad when someone just remembered that forward and rewind buttons are also needed.
The scroll/volume control touch-pad is uncomfortable and not accurate enough for navigation in lists.
Playback sound quality is good, and interface is OK but player hangs too often when I try to skip to the next song while one has not begun or just began playing. My record was 3 hangs in 10 minutes. Luckily I had the pin to hard-reset it. However, that was not the case when player froze in the middle of trans-Atlantic flight. I was ready to throw player out of the window. It is good that airplane windows can not be opened :) Since software is not perfect reset should be doable with a ball-pen.
Startup time is too long.
Deleting songs is slow.
Charging and listening at the same time is not possible. If it is possible I did not find a way to do it.

I bought my Zen Vision:M mp3 player a little more than a year ago. First off, I absolutely LOVE how this zen looks (my zen is green)!

I LOVE putting new songs and changing videos with this player. It is really fun-- also great b/c I can watch videos when I am running on the machines at the gym or doing the stair stepper.
My zen has only 2-3 scratches (that are somewhat noticeable) and I have had my player for over a year now.
Overall, I would give my zen a perfect+ rating. All of my friends have iPods, for that reason, I purposly didn't buy an iPod (I also wanted FM radio and better quality and the green color) and thus I am beginning to think iPods are overrated.
***If you want something amazingly cool, durable, with awesome features and great sound, then the Zen Vision:M is for you! If anyone is trying to decide Zen vs. iPod, defiantly go with the Zen!

I've had this player in my hands just over a week now and I am totally happy with everythig about it. Well, almost everything. First the good. I found the sound, picture and video quality fantastic. Setup was a snap. I followed others advice and let the thing charge a full 5 hours before transferring just under 6000 songs to the player. This took another 3 or 4 hours. The wait was well worth it. All the album art was all there. I've read some people have had trouble in this area. I'd just suggest using Windows Media Player and make sure your library is cool there first and then it will come out cool on your Zen Vision. Scrolling through the menus was really simple and after a short time I felt like a pro. Another thimg some people had a little trouble getting used to.(they must have previously owned iPods) Finding one song to play or playing an entire album from start to finish is all real easy. Another feature I love is the favorite button. This button you can assign to do a specific thing when pressed. I have mine set to play all tracks randomly. So I can be in the middle of watching a video or anything else and press this button and I straight to music. Very cool feature. Now the bad. The "play all tracks randomly" dosn't really mix them up real well. It could be my imagination but I swear I hear some tracks more than others. I can live with that. If you are looking for an FM transmitter dock style for your car forget it. I don't think you can even get a case for the 60GB yet. I'm sure all that will change by the time I post this.(at least I hope so)

I totally agree with all of the other high reviews. This has been a great purchase and a fine piece of entertainment.
My only complaint is that if you delete songs and/or an albums from your computer (Windows Media Player e.g.) to save memory, the next time you sync the player it will also delete these items even if you still want them on your player. If I have all of these songs on my player I don't need them on my laptop also. Gets to be very frustrating.

In its own right, the Creative Zen Vision:M is a very capable digital audio player, video player, photo viewer, FM radio, and more. Indeed, one could go on and on about how it has the right specifications to make it a constant companion for entertainment on the go. The really big news about this device, though, is that it's the first device to boast complete compatibility with Amazon Unbox, the new digital video and music download service from Amazon.com.

Design Let's get things out in the open. The Apple iPod is the 800-pound gorilla when it comes to the digital media player business and, unavoidably, every other device is measured against it. In most respects, the Vision:M matches up pretty well, and there are few things you may even like better. Length and width dimensions are exactly the same at 4.1 and 2.4 inches respectively. When it comes to girth, though, the iPod has the Vision:M beat; the Vision:M is .7 inches thick, while the iPod measures .4 inches. The Vision:M is slightly heavier, too. These details aside, the Vision:M feels comfortable, yet sturdy, in the hand, with curved surfaces in all the right places.
Creative takes a somewhat different approach with the Vision:M's controls, answering the iPod's Click Wheel with a vertical touch pad--which allows you to scroll up and down menus and control volume--plus four buttons that offer navigation through the user interface. The contextual menu button on the bottom right is a welcome addition, allowing you to make quick settings changes and view information about media files on the fly--functions that are more cumbersome on an iPod. Creative could have made the buttons a bit more sensitive--they require a firm press that gives an overall feeling of clunkiness to an otherwise well-designed user interface. Another annoyance is the touch pad's over-sensitivity; it's easy to make selections unintentionally, sending you on a wild ride through the user interface.
The Vision:M's screen, which measures 2.5 inches diagonally, offers sharp details, vibrant color, and excellent response with little or no video ghosting during high-action sequences. The 320 x 240 resolution is to be expected from a device this size, and although it's small, you'll likely have no trouble enjoying video while you're sitting on the subway or a flight, or in the back-seat of a car. Our only nitpick was the screen's less than stellar viewing angle, especially when compared side-by-side with a video iPod. While this can be good for maintaining privacy, the narrow viewing angle also means that friends beside you will struggle to see anything other than a black screen.
Music, Videos, Photos, and More The Vision:M's music organization scheme is standard fare; you can browse playlists, artists, tracks, albums, and genres. Equalizer settings are robust, with a nice range of automatic settings, plus a custom equalizer that's easy to control. The music library's "DJ" function is a nice touch, allowing you to listen to your most popular tracks. It can also pull up the tunes you listen to least frequently--in case you've got some forgotten tunes lying around on the Vision:M's 30 GB hard drive. Sound quality is everything you'd expect from a top shelf digital audio player, and DRM'd Windows Media files played without a hitch. The device fully supports a whole range of "PlaysForSure" download and subscription services, such as Napster and Yahoo Music. Creative also ships a CD-ripping and music transfer application called MediaSource with the Vision:M.
Playback of Windows Media DRM'd video files (WMV9) was also hassle-free. Purchased videos delivered crisp colors and detail, with no frame drops. Video playback consumes a lot of power, bringing Creative's claim of four hours of video playback into serious doubt. Expect under three hours when watching videos continuously. Thankfully, if you need to come back to your video later the Vision:M's software remembers the timecode of where you left off--unless you power the device down between viewing sessions. In addition to protected and unprotected WMV files, the Vision:M can play MPEG 1/2/4, Motion-JPEG, DivX 4 and 5, and XviD formats, making it a very flexible device with respect to encoding options.
The Vision:M can also store thousands of photos, letting you browse through them or set up a slideshow. The device's TV-out option comes in handy here, as you can present slideshows on a TV or projector. Videos can be displayed this way, too. An FM radio with easy preset tuning functions and great signal reception, plus a voice recorder feature, round out the extra media features. There's also a handy application on the Vision:M that formats a portion of the drive for use as USB 2.0 mass storage, letting you set aside up to 16 GB for data storage.
Connectivity and Synchronization A Creative Sync Adapter ships in the box with the Vision:M, making it a snap to connect the device to a USB 2.0-capable PC. With the connection made, Windows XP recognized the device right off the bat and Windows Media Player immediately asked us if we wanted to load the PC's music onto the Vision:M. Music management and synchronization has come a long way on the PC, and the experience of organizing and transferring music to and from the Vision:M was, barring a few curious click-through boxes, pretty seamless. The Vision:M also supports synchronization of your Outlook contacts, calendar, and tasks, in case you want to use it as a personal organizer of sorts.
Amazon Unbox Integration To be truly successful, the Vision:M has to be more than a great media device, it has to integrate with Amazon Unbox and make the process feel like second nature. Although the Vision:M was tested using a beta version of Amazon Unbox, things are looking good already. Amazon Unbox and the Vision:M go together like peas in a pod, making the process of purchasing, downloading, and enjoying content on the go a real cinch. The Amazon Unbox Video Player, which queues, downloads, organizes, and plays your purchased movies and TV shows, recognized the Vision:M right off the bat. An icon for the Vision:M appears in the devices panel of the application, and you can immediately begin transferring downloaded content to the device. Once you're all loaded up, the Vision:M offers a great way to bring Amazon Unbox entertainment along for the ride.

I have had my Zen Vision M for about 4 months now. On the positive side the music is very clear, it has absolutely great sound reproduction capabilities, The other major positive is that for $15 per month, you can sign up with Yahoo's Rhapsody music service and in one months time, you can download thousands of songs to the Vision M and all you have paid is $15. That is simply amazing. I have downloaded about 4500 songs and am never at a loss for good listening. Another really great feature is the FM radio. Sometimes you just want to take a walk and listen to your favorite rock, jazz station or NPR and this radio works really well.
There are a couple of things that bother me. It took a lot of getting used to the slide feature for clicking on artists/songs, etc. but I mostly have. I overshoot a lot and the thing is too sensitive, it can accidentally, with your slightest touch, put on a song or go to the wrong spot. Another thing is it has frozen on me about 4 times right in the middle of a song and I had to wait until I was at the end of my walk and at home to reset.
Overall, I find it is better than the ipod I had which totally stopped working after about a year and a half and I would highly recommend it.

I truly regret ever buying this. It was a waste of money, I should have spent a little extra money and got an ipod. It freezes all the time, especially when viewing large pictures or setting a wallpaper. Also, I began getting pissed at it dying on me after only a short period of time, listening to music for 3 hours, on a half full battery, so today I fully charged it and then let it run until it dies. It says it should last 16 hours on audio, it only lasted 7 and a half.
Another thing, it is only compatible with Windows XP, you cannot run the software on an older Windows OS or in fact any other OS. I'm saving up for a Mac Book Pro, so when I learned this, this angered me. I wasted over $200 on this piece of junk.

This card has lots and lots of room. Data is written to it quickly. Just make sure your camera uses the M type card as some older cameras won't accept it.
At my cameras highest setting, 3 MB picture file size, I can store 700 pictures on this card. NOTICE, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE FILE SIZE NOT THE MEGA PIXEL RATING OF THE CAMERA! For normal size pictures, you can store THOUSANDS of pictures on this card.
You might also wish to purchase an Olympus MAUSB-200 Memory card reader. This card and reader together looks and performs just like a flash drive.
It is a really neat. Someone had a great idea here.

If you need lots of storage for your images, this is the card to buy. 133X speed memory with super-fast write and read times. No waiting for that next shot. I have several CF cards, 1GB and 512MB. They are 40X-90X and not near as fast. I use them only when I know I don't need as fast of a write time between shots.

AWESOME speed.......2007-05-28
I must have around 10 different compactflash cards of various sizes from various manufacturers. With the upgrade to a Nikon D200 (from a D100 and also a Coolpix 5700 and 8700 in my arsenal), I decided I needed some big, fast, flash.
I am *not* disappointed. In my D200, set to fast multishot, I was able to take over 100 (large fine jpeg) pictures before the card couldn't keep up and I filled the camera's buffer. That was over 12 seconds of continuous photos! I have a (much) older 4 gig Microdrive flash card that is pathetically slow compared to this.
I bought four cards, and I have stressed one in all 4 of my cameras, filling it, erasing it, and filling it again several times. While not a formal stress test, it has given me enough confidence - in the past I have had flash cards that would occasionally result in errors moving between cameras, problems formatting in the camera, etc. So far, the one card I hammered has been fine.
I was tempted to get the 8gb version of this card, but 2 4 gig cards are cheaper, and provide some level of assurance - if one card fails, I still have one to keep going. 1 8 gig card would be a single point of failure.

Finding the real color in your monitor.......2007-06-26
I never realized how important it was to calibrate your monitor until I got my most recent batch of prints back from Snapfish and was appalled by the colors in the photographs. They were not at all like what I was seeing on my monitor when I worked on my photographs in Adobe Photoshop. Obviously the on-line print service was reading the colors completely differently from my monitor. I tried the calibration program that came embedded in Photoshop, but it doesn't work on an LCD screen, only on the old type monitors that no one has anymore. I purchased Spyder2 Express and used it on all of my laptp monitors, and it made a huge difference, both in the color on my screen, and in the prints coming back from Snapfish. Who was to know that you can't trust the colors on your monitor, or that you are wasting hours working on your pictures in Photoshop, because the colors you are tweaking on your screen are not accurate anyway. If you work on photos in your computer, color calibration is a must, and Spyder2 Express is easily the most cost effective of the programs. (Note: about every month or so, you need to recalibrate the monitor, and Spyder2 Express reminds you to do this with an on screen reminder.)

Easy to set up & use; directions very well written / on-screen wizard guides you through everything. After a few minutes using the product, I applied the new settings to my monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 170T). Noticeable improvement in color settings / appearance! Highly recommended if you do any work at all with photographs (e.g. Photoshop, etc) or graphics.

First of all, when I reached the step where it asks me to attach it to the screen at the designated spot, I did that- clicked "continue" only to recieve an XP style ERROR with a useless, long string of numbers and letters impossible to decipher. I tried EVERYTHING, I am no newbie! It just would not initialize. So, how many stars can I give it? There's no choice for ZERO.
The best chance for success is to use the suction cups, but if you have an LCD screen (who doesn't?) it warns you not to. So, how do you get it to lay flat just by hanging it? I used the "counterweight supplied, plus I held it in place with my hand, still no dice. OK, I'll bite. So I try it with the suction cups and take a chance, nope, still would not initialize(I rebooted, etc). BEWARE of using the suction cups, very difficult to remove without damaging screen!!! Oh, there is NO MENTION of LAPTOPS. I have a MacBook Pro. I use it for photography and graphics, HELLO??? They say it is crucial to set the monitor to default brightness- most laptops have NO default... you set it to where you want. There is no "reset to default" settings. DO not bother with this device. It's the same hardware for all levels... same problems.... getting the pro won't change what I describe here.

After some initial difficulty getting the software to recognize the colorimeter, the product works as advertised. My software difficulties were resolved by downloading the latest software version from their web site... however the exact version I needed to download was not immediately apparent to me from the text on the web site, which led to some false starts being recommended by their tech support. Tech support response times were good, and despite the false starts, they recommended a solution that resolved the problem within five business days.

Good heart rate monitor for a great price.......2007-06-13
I mulled over which monitor to buy for a while. I liked the Nike one's because they allowed you to design a workout, Suunto had some cool features and Polar has the best reputation in the business and the most interoperability with electronic gym equipment.
Ultimately, I decided on the Polar M61 for several reasons, two of them are already mentioned. I also liked this model over other Polar devices, because I like having the better chest strap with the ability to change the battery (though, the other ones claim to have a 4-5 year battery life, which is probably long enough to justify the cost). I also like the OwnCal feature that calculates the kilocalorie count while working out.
Some of the features contained on the unit clearly needed more thinking through. For instance, the Ownzone. If you use the Ownzone feature, you must use Polar's settings. During your workout, you can change the zone you are in. The problem is, the zones heart rate numbers are relatively low for some of the running workouts I do. It would be nice if the individual zone settings were customizable (there is a customizable zone, but you need to turn off Ownzone to use it and can't jump back and forth).
The another feature that has also been harped on are ability to store only a single workout file. I didn't think this was too big of a deal until I had to stop the stopwatch in order to adjust a setting during one of my runs.
Overall, I am happy with the product. It is nice being able to track heart rate during my workouts. If you are interested in getting a monitor, you can't beat the price, plus you get the better quality chest strap.

This thing does some amazing things. It's so nice to know how many calories and fat you have burned from a workout. You really start to ignore the band around your chest after a while. Also, the watch is very light, and easy to learn how to use!
First HRM Watch.......2007-05-22
I've exercised with it five times now, and I'm pleased with the stats it reports. The design is quirky and bulky, and the exercise button is easily activated by accident. The manual is not intuitive at all, but I patiently read through it and eventually made sense of it.
I like the looks and ergonomics of my last Timex IronMan watch much better, plus it kept 50 stop watch entries in memory (and the watch only cost $40), but that band came apart around the buttons (poor design) which I could not repair, so I upgraded to a HRM watch - choosing Polar. Polar should seriously thin the watch design. I wear it daily to work in the office, and it's too bulky. I'd also like to gave more than one exercise session stats saved at a time.

I purchased this item to better help keep track of my fitness goals. The monitor performs as advertised. It is important to thoroughly wet the sensors on the belt prior to using, for best and consistent results. Programming the watch accessory was simplified by going to the Polar website and viewing the mini videos. So far, I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. I use it for walking, and cycling. Thank you.
Does everything I need in a heart monitor........2007-05-19
If you're looking for a monitor to do the basics the Polar M61 will do you fine. I am very satisfied with mine. One suggestion, when programing your monitor read the directions & add a lot of common sense. You'll have no problems.
