Loaded with a wide array of security features, NETGEAR's FR318 Cable/DSL Firewall router delivers office network protection that can be easily customized to suit any preferences. This multitalented product is armed with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) to secure uninterrupted network operation and provides ongoing Denial of Service (Dos) attack protection. Optional VPN security association initiates a secure VPN tunnel to a mobile user or remote office. Network administrators can establish time-of-day usage limits, content filtering parameters, in addition to limits on Web page access, chat and instant messenger services. The FR318 can be set to log, report, and send real-time e-mail alerts of browsing activities. It not only announces hacker attempts, but tracks their source. NAT routing and IPSec Support provide an extra level of security for shared resources. But that's not all. Cable/DSL Internet access sharing capability, an integrated, 8-port 10/100 switch, and an included Ethernet cable add to the practicality of this network essential. Optional upgrades include a one-tunnel VPN security association, a CyberNOT content list subscription, which saves time with automatic Web-blocking list updates, and user upgrades that enable as many as 45 users.
