Amazon.com Product Description

For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.

With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again.

The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time.

5 out of 5 stars 4 week delay.......2007-07-02

Yes this unit is all that they say and works great. But my unit got lost in the mail. It finally arrived 4 weeks later. So much for Amazon's free shipping. It is really annoying waiting for something to ship every day not having it arrive. I'll pay for UPS shipping from now on and skip the aggravation.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable!.......2007-07-01

Before buying the Plantronics Voyager 510 I read all the reviews I could find. After what some people said, I was a little apprehensive when I finally ordered it. But my apprehension was unwarranted. I've been using it for a week now and it has completely changed my attitude towards my cell phone (which I used to hate). The sound quality is terrific--just like talking to the person face-to-face. And I can hear perfectly even when I'm in the car and the radio is playing. The person I'm talking to can hear me when I'm talking in a normal voice and I've been told that the sound quality is as good as an old fashioned wired phone (remember those?). Unlike one of the other reviewers here, I don't find the on/off button to be located in an awkward place. In fact, all of the controls seem to be well-located. I love the voice-dialing feature, which lets me call someone in my phone book without having to fumble with my phone. (Your phone has to have this capability for it to work, but most newer phones do.) If you'd like to be able to do other things while talking on the phone, get one of these. You won't regret it!

5 out of 5 stars Met all my expectations!.......2007-06-29

I purchased the Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset because my husband had one and raved about it. I'm more than pleased! It stays on my ear securely and after a very short while, I forget I'm even wearing it. Voice clarity is also good. The on/off button is kind of small and stiff, but that's my only negative.

5 out of 5 stars Works every time.......2007-06-29

This unit always synchs up and works perfectly. Every time. Comfortable and good volume, easy to adjust and end calls. No hassles. Strong battery life. More subtle with much of it behind the ear, definitely not as goofy looking as the star-trek-look devices with bright LED's and ear hardware. (I think there should be a law that if you wear ONE of those, you have to wear TWO, thus identifying yourself as a hopeless techno-geek.)

1 out of 5 stars What a Loser!.......2007-06-29

I bought this head set after all of the great reviews I read but I've had nothing but problems. The unit doesn't hold a charge through one average length phone call. I found it difficult to keep the unit in my ear while talking. The Ear piece is so bulky that I could not wear glasses or sunglasses while using it. I have wasted my money on this product.

1 out of 5 stars 100% Failure Record For Me.......2007-06-29

I have been using Sony Cd-Rs for years now without any problems. However, when I stumbled across some very bad reviews of Sony here on Amazon, I decided to give Memorex disks a try when I saw them on sale.

Boy, I should have listened to myself when I said I was going to stick with Sony. Not one of the Memorex CD-Rs would burn. I went through about 5 in a row. Not one! The minute I popped in a Sony disk, it burned as smooth as butter; so I knew it couldn't be corrupted data as the problem. It had to be the Memorex disks. Immediately, I dumped the brand new Memorex spindle with the remaining 45 blank CDs in the trash. $8 wasted.

Perhaps it is true that some disks will not work on all machines, who knows. All I know is they don't work on mine and Sony has worked flawlessly on every computer and CD player I have ever used them on. So that's it for me; I will never deviate from what I know to be true again. For all I know Memorex reps could be writing those bad reviews of Sony. LOL! Sony has been infallible for me and with Sony I shall always remain, and Memorex is in the trash right where it belongs.

4 out of 5 stars Is it live or is it Memorex?.......2007-06-17

As the author of the Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" and a former radio disc-jockey, I am often asked to write and or discuss various recordings from the 60's and 70's. Sometimes my thoughts are requested on recording equipment and electronics.

Memorex has been ultra reliable for me as a recording medium for blank CDR's. I have used a substantial amount over the years for both data and pictures (Notes on my Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" and photos) and for various rock and roll albums.

The CD's have held up well and there have been very little that were defective right out of the package. While the quality control is a shade below the Fuji from Japan, in no way should Memorex be considered a poor second choice.

For maximum shelf life the recorded CD's should be in jewel cases and not in paper sleeves. If you are into making your own labels make sure to use the better quality paper. The inferior thin labels not only will curl up before they are placed on the CD but the glue will actually get into the CD itself. Many defective CD's are not the fault of the manufacturer but the consumer not using best judgment.

Enjoy the music and be well,
Craig Fenton

4 out of 5 stars memorex , affordable and reliable.......2007-06-08

these cds are good quality and most burn good. at times a couple out of a 50 pack may be bad but that is good compared to some other brands like hp where i had about 10 bad out of 50. i recommend these cds and i have been using them for quite awhile.

5 out of 5 stars Good CDs.......2007-06-01

I've bought a lot of CDs and have been pleasantly surprised with these. After using about 25 of them, they all have worked in computers and CD players.

I have always bought Memorex, and will continue doing so, especially at this price.

Great buy folks.

Amazon.com Product Description

If you're looking for vehicle navigation that's powerful and simple to use, the Garmin StreetPilot c340 is just the ticket. Right out of the box, this unit helps you make the right turns wherever your travels take you. With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, text-to-speech voice commands, a brilliant display that shows the way with 2D or 3D animations, and a massive points of interest database, the c340 has all the basics covered. Plus, you'll find some great additional features that make it a must-have companion.

Look Mom, no buttons! Garmin has taken simplicity to a new level with the c340.
The c340 is designed with simplicity in mind, although Garmin hasn't forgotten to add a touch of class. With a weight of under ten ounces and a width of 4.4 inches, the c340 is ultracompact and easy to transport. To keep confusion on the road to a minimum, the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The bright 3.5-inch-diagonal display features a touchscreen, making it a snap to input routing information and make quick selections on the road. The c340 sports dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, a USB port for PC connectivity, and an internal lithium-ion battery that provides power when you're planning your routes outside the car (approximately 4-8 hours battery life). In addition to an included 12-volt power adapter for in-car power, there's also an SD memory card expansion slot for use with other Garmin MapSource mapping products. The unit is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield, allowing for easy portability between vehicles. You can even customize the c340's appearance with optional colored faceplates that suit your style. While the c340 has an internal GPS antenna, it also has an MCX-type connector for hooking up an optional external GPS antenna.

Finding your way with the c340 starts with inputting a location on the touch screen. Next, the unit's text-to-speech feature speaks to you just like a back seat driver, telling you the names of streets and when to turn and in what direction. And if you happen to miss a turn--don't worry, the c340 automatically calculates a new route to your destination. Audible and visual navigation instructions and warnings help you navigate more quickly while keeping your eyes on the road. You can also choose between a 3D mapping perspective or 2D overhead view.

The c340 offers clear, easy-to-read 3D directions.
Another time- and frustration-saving feature of the c340 is the database of preloaded maps and points of interest. Gone are the days of uploading partial maps from your computer to your GPS device: the c340 has them all built in. The unit comes preloaded with Garmin's highly detailed City Select NT street data of the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Finding points of interest along your route is made easy with the c340's huge built-in database of nearly six million hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin has also made it easy for users to upload custom points of interest--now you can add school zones or safety cameras to your database. You can even turn on a proximity alert to notify you of upcoming custom points of interest.

Garmin really kicks the power of the c340 up a notch with the addition of real-time traffic information. This optional service will display congested areas on a color-coded map, allowing you to avoid traffic by simply pushing a button that calculates a new route. All this wizardry is made possible by the new Garmin GTM 10 receiver that connects to the c340 and other select Garmin products. Note that while the GTM 10 receives digital data from specific FM broadcast stations in select major metro areas throughout the United States and Europe, note that these traffic services are available only in select cities where coverage exists. The service requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and, in some cases, a subscription to enable these traffic capabilities.

What's in the Box
StreetPilot c340 receiver with built-in antenna, dual internal speaker system for voice guidance and alerts, vehicle suction cup mount with 12-24 volt adapter, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, preloaded City Select North America NT database, and quick-reference guide.

4 out of 5 stars Almost perfect.......2007-07-01

In short, this is a great product and highly recommended. Free upgrades are easily installed. I've used it for over a year now and have found it almost unreal in its ability to deliver the goods. Since it is portable, I use it in rental cars when out of town. Really great for getting out of and back to often confusing big airport rental car lots. Only two minor complaints:

--the screen is a bit washed out in bright sun. Not sure how to fix that but hopefully there is a solution to be found in future models. In cloudy weather or at night it is fine.

--more important, the voice turn indicator comes much too late. Sometimes it is fine, e.g., "Turn left on Main Street in 400 feet." More often, however, it will give you this instruction only when you are just crossing the street you should actually have turned on. When the screen is washed out from the sunlight, you need this voice instruction in advance! This is particularly annoying when you are on a three or four lane road and you know from the lower right corner screen instructions that you will be turning in, say, 400 feet, but you don't know whether to the right or the left.

4 out of 5 stars I am still thinking an looking, but.........2007-06-30

This seems to be the answer for my job. Now, what is the difference between v7 and v8 software ? and how come Amazon does not sell the one with V8 ?? I am looking elsewhere since its much cheaper for V8.

5 out of 5 stars It's great!.......2007-06-30

I know there are over 600 previous reviews but I have to tell you this thing is great. I recently drove from Seattle to Orlando and it found the shortest, quickest route. Spend the extra few dollars and get the voice model, it is really worth it. You don't have to depend on watching the screen. It always gave me at least 8/10's of a mile notice before any turns and I would never have found my way through Kansas City without it. If you want a GPS, this is it.

5 out of 5 stars Garmin c340.......2007-06-27

Garmin C340-For the price and ease of use...I don't think there is a better unit. I have 2 of these units...one for me and one for my wife. My wife won't go anywhere without it and I love the arrival time feature. Only on a very slim occasion (ie. new road/development/tall buildings) does "Jill" have any trouble. I have used it in Baltimore, D.C., (while traveling) Seattle/Tacoma WA, Cleveland/Pittsburgh and nearly everywhere in between. The best part...the price keeps going down.

4 out of 5 stars Very Happy.......2007-06-27

It's a wonderful system. Small and portable, but large enough to easily read the map. I highly reccomend it for anyone looking for a navigation system. My girlfriend just moved up form Texas and swears by it.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Poor Pix Quality.......2007-07-02

Well, the selling feature of 10x optical zoom had me hooked. Unfortunately, the picture quality was terrible(not just the zoom pix). I had a Kodak for 4 years and it took MUCH better pix. My daughter's Olympus had great pix of the same events that I took with the Panasonic. I returned it after using it at a weekend basketball tourney; I purchased a Cannon A710 as a deparation purchase the night before I left for a big trip and was thrilled with the pix quality and features.

4 out of 5 stars Outstanding.......2007-06-28

I have had the camera for a month now and I absolutely love it. I bought it for the massive zoom and the ability to slip it into my pocket. I was also looking for something inexpensive, but is feature rich and adjustable. The lumix offers so much more than that. I love the 10x Zoom. It turns out that I have used high zoom many times in a month. I am glad I did not buy a camera that has a 3x or 4x zoom like the canon, or go around toting a big camera bag.

The camera has lots of very handy adjustments. I haven't figured out all of them yet though and keep discovering new features. The lcd display is big and very good.

I never missed not having a view finder. Frankly, who uses view finders with digital cameras anyway?

The only con I found so far, and hence 4 stars - the low light pictures are good, but could be better. It still is a great improvement over a minolta and a canon I had previously.

3 out of 5 stars Good Zoom, good pictures in day, bad in night.......2007-06-28

Pros
1. Good zoom. Can go upto 60X in digital mode with 3megapixel.
2. Good outdoor photos
3. Can not carry in pocket but can carry in the camera bag attached to belt
4. Bigger LCD screen
Cons
1. Bad indoor pictures
2. Avoid using this for night pictures

4 out of 5 stars Great Camera!.......2007-06-28

I love this camera! It takes great stills and wonderful movies. The resolution is great and it takes good pictures even in low light. I would have given it 5 stars, except for the fact that without an optical viewfinder it makes it hard to take pictures in bright sunlight. That being said, if you just point it in the direction of what you want to take a picture of it takes a great picture anyway!

1 out of 5 stars Blurs Details.......2007-06-27

I tested this camera extensively. For casual point-and-shooters, who print small prints, this camera is small, has a great zoom lens, and gives usable pictures. For those like me, who like enlarging pictures, or cropping, this camera blurs details. The Venus noise reduction system applies a blur to all images, greatly softening detail at high magnification. At close magnification of test images, my old Canon S50 pocket digital camera provides much more crisp detail, while this Panasonic TZ3 blurs all the fine details in an image. This was true in bright daylight, flash, at all ISO's, and was especially severe in low light. After testing this, I returned it.
If you want a casual point-and-shoot camera with a great zoom lens, this is a good choice. If you are into semi-serious use of the images, you will find loss of detail unacceptable.
UPDATE: I've since discovered that all current "ultracompact" cameras have worse picture quality than the compact digital cameras of a few years ago. Since people continue to buy tiny cameras, the camera makers are putting in much smaller CCD's than a few years ago. So if you're like me and you have a compact digital camera that's a few years old, don't count on any of the current ultracompact models to do as good a job.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good Product.......2007-06-27

I purchased this after reading up on it. I'm into podcasting and wanted a headset mic. that had a good sound quality and ease of use. I'm pretty happy with this. I've been using it for a couple of months now and the quality of my cast is not too shabby.

Granted you could get better quality from a Snowball Mic. or something along those lines for under $30 you won't do much better.

4 out of 5 stars Great Product for a Low Price!!.......2007-06-24

I bought this microphone to use on Skype and Yahoo Voice Messenger. I have to say that it's a great product. The mic is perfectly clear, all of my friends can hear me without any problems. The only problem I really have with this product is that my mute switch has already stopped working, but it's not that big of a deal. Another thing is that the headphones are comfortable, but after about 3 hours of wearing them, my ears start to hurt. Other than that, it's a great headset.

3 out of 5 stars Good Audio - Very Uncomfortable.......2007-06-15

My husband bought two pairs of these, one for each of us. Before opening the second package he had me try his on since he felt they were uncomfortable after a short time. At first it seemed alright except the ear pieces didn't fit quite right on my ears. The sound put my regular speakers to shame and I was very impressed by the tiny details I've been missing in my World of Warcraft music. However, after wearing them for a short time, they became uncomfortable on my ears and also where the band sits on top of my head. Although the audio quality is excellent, I would not recommend these for any hardcore gamers that plan on wearing headphones for extended periods of time for voice chat.

5 out of 5 stars Getting the most bang for your buck.......2007-06-12

I have used this headset every day for almost a year and the sound quality is still amazing!!! Granted, I only use it in the office but I am buying a new one for my home computer as well. By far one of the best investments i've made. The Microphone is crisp, clean, and does a good job at filtering background noise. But the biggest seller is still the volume control and overide mute button. I would pay the money for the sound quality alone.

4 out of 5 stars You get what you paid for.......2007-06-12

Since several reviewers reported this head set as uncomfortable I decided to wait a few weeks before posting my review. At first they did squeeze my head very tight and were as uncomfortable as others have said. However, I find them fairly comfortable now. You could buy a $300 Bose set, but now that these have loosened up, I'm happy with this bargain purchase.

The audio quality on my recordings has been excellent, and since my IBM Think Pad speakers are so weak, I'm now able to listen to even the lowest of audio files as loudly as I choose thanks to the volume control button the wire of the head set. It will take a few hours of wearing to break it in... but then you're set.

4 out of 5 stars Newbie to DSLR Picks up this bad boy.......2007-07-03

I'm brand new to the SLR world and decided about a month ago I'd continue a hobby I had started in middle school. I was torn between the XTi and the XT. After doing much research, learning, and getting information overload, I decided for my needs, I'd pick up the XT. From what I read, the difference in MP wouldn't be much of an issue for me. The self cleaning on the XTi would be awesome. It came down to an issue with money and "wife" approval. At just under $600 with kit lens, the XT was "psychologically" a little easier to buy than the XTi. Anyway, I'm in the tech field and began thinking of the bodies like computers. New and better stuff will keep coming out faster and cheaper, in this hobby the lenses seem to be the real investment.

Anyway, so far I love the camera. I'm learning still but I do like the creative modes the XT offers. Kind of like step learning. I've got down all the terminology and what each thing does, but need to learn how it actually works and think the creative modes offered on XT are the perfect bridge.

I have absolutely no complaints so far about the camera (although i did get the dreaded 99 error that I've read about, but I turned off the camera and it went away. I hope I didn't get a dud).

The Good:

1. Great value in my opinion
2. Camera feels good overall (some have complained about it being too light or feeling cheap). I don't get this impression at all. Although one of the cons I'm listing does have to do with the shape.
3. Easy to use with plenty of different modes to help you along the way

The Bad:

1. Like others have complained, the grip feels a bit compacted. I don't have really big hands, but it feels a tad unnatural holding the camera. Its not terrible though, but its a little annoying
2. Not necessarily against this camera, but one thing I didn't think about is that you can't shoot with glasses on. Too hard. But it does have an adjustment that goes to -2.5 (right at my vision) and I can shoot with no glasses, or contacts.
3. The kit lens leaves something to be desired. I'm a newbie and I can already feel the limitations of this lens. Under sunny conditions, the lens performs pretty good, no complaints. But indoor photography sucks for lack of a better word. Plus the range doesn't seem useful. Its a short telephoto and maybe a long wide. Would I buy it with the kit lens? Yeah, for only $70 or $80 more, I think its worth it. However, if choosing b/w the kit lens and picking up the nifty fifty (Canon 50mm prime), I might have been better off picking up the body only and getting the nifty fifty. I'll know when I actually order the nifty fifty. I guess I felt I wanted some range, so I went with the kit.

I am going to pick up the nifty fifty to see what this camera can really do. I'm pumped about the hobby and so far so good. I think I'd be even more excited if I had better glass on the cam. But I'm still learning. Maybe the kit lens isn't all that bad and its the photographer.

The only bad thing about this hobby though is that initially, I thought I would be happy with the body + kit lens. Now I want more glass, better flash, monopod, etc, etc.

5 out of 5 stars XT is a great camera, just as good as XTi.......2007-07-03

For the price, its hard to find a DSLR that provides as much quality as the Canon Rebel XT. If you want to spend a little extra money, get the XTi, but believe me, the two are very much the same camera (I have both, use them both, and love them both, but find no huge difference between the two).

The XT's 8 megapixels can easily make 16x20 enlargements, meaning you don't really need the extra two megapixels of the XTi.

The XT's screen is smaller than the XTi, but that also means it wastes less battery power, especially because the system info is displayed on a thin LCD screen. This is a mixed blessing, and for me, I do prefer the XTi's larger screen that shows the data in large numbers and letters, fully lit at all times. Shooting at night or in the dark, I hated having to press the XT's light button just to see my data. Between the two, I feel this is the only major weak point of the XT compare to the XTi.

The dust removal is a nice feature of the XTi, but most casual users of the Rebels don't change lenses that much, and if you do it right, you don't run a risk of dirt inside the camera. The XT not having dust removal has been no problem for me at all, as I've never gotten dust on my sensors after a lot of lens changes.

Capability-wise, the XT is just a little slower than the XTi. Casual users won't notice it at all.

One point not mentioned to much is the autofocus points, which I feel is a big disadvantage of the XT as compared to the XTi. Having less points to select from is a weakness that bothers me at times while switching between cameras, but not a major problem when you know how to use the points well.

If you want the best bang for your buck, get the XT. Both it and its XTi younger cousin are both excellent cameras, and either would make you happy.

1 out of 5 stars My Camera arrived 20 days ago, and it DIED today........2007-07-01

I was very happy with my first digital SLR. I have been snapping photos every day with my XT. Today, at my daughter's birthday party, no less, the camera died without warning. I took a few shots, turned it off as carefully as ever, and set it on the table. When I tried to turn it back on a few minutes later, it wouldn't work. No LCD, wouldn't turn on. NOTHING! I assumed it was the battery. Took the battery home, charged it, and it still doesn't work. Since the company's policy is 15 days to return an opened item, and I've had the camera for 20 days, I am wating to hear about any exceptions to the returns policy, or whether Amazon will step in somehow and do what is right. I am sick over this. Did I just throw $600 out the window, or will Canon, Vann's (the independent company) and Amazon do what is right.

Read other 1 & 2 star reviews. The same thing seems to have happened to others as well. Perhaps these cameras have a fatal flaw. I am discouraged, disappointed and disheartened. Buyer Beware!

Will update!

5 out of 5 stars Another winner from Canon.......2007-06-29

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT is my fifth Canon SLR camera. Other Canon cameras I own include the Canon EOS 10S, the EOS Rebel G2, the EOS Elan 7, the EOS Rebel digital (6.3 MP) and now the EOS Rebel Digital XT.

Canon products keep getting better and better and less expensive. I used to be a big Minolta fan, but then Minolta did its swan dance and I got stuck with a couple of Minolta bodies and a bunch of Minolta lenses that were no longer supported. That will never happen with a Canon camera.

But back to the Rebel XT. This camera has all the wonderful features that made the first EOS Rebel digital such a big hit and then improves upon them. The obvious improvements are a smaller and lighter body as well as a bigger sensor (6.3 vs. 8.0 mp). The other not so obvious improvements include much faster response time (I can't tell you how many shots I previously lost due to lag time) and a new accessory battery grip that takes rechargeable batteries as well as AA batteries. While traveling is not always feasible to bring a charger along, so the ability to use standard and readily available AA bettereis is a major plus.

This camera is a true joy to use. I passed up on the XTi (like I passed up on the Elan 7E) because I do not need or want some of the extra complexities of the XTi model. I don't need eye focusing (Elan 7E) and I don't need a CMOS self-cleaner (Rebel XTi). It is not all that hard to occassionaly clean out the old CMOS.

If this is your first digital SLR camera you will like the point-and-shoot auto modes found in the camera. If you are a more advanced user you will benefit from all the shooting choices available with the camera. In other words, this is a camera that you can grow with and will not soon outgrow.

If you already own Canon, or Canon-mount lenses, then buy the body only and skip the kit. If this is your first SLR, get the kit and learn your way around the camera using the lens included with the kit. Is not as bad as some people would like to make it out to seem.

Get this camera and you will never look back!

1 out of 5 stars How about "I Returned this Item".......2007-06-27

I had a Logitech headset mic that I liked and really was comfortable, but it no longer worked when I upgraded to Vista, so I ordered a set that I was told would work with Vista. The head set worked, actually, but it was so heavy , awkward and uncomfortable to wear that I returned it to Amazon. The redesign of the head set, they have added these fake leather bits around the ears and these HUGE HUGE ear covers that did nothing but make my ears sweat (I didn't realize my ears sweated before I had these God-awful headphones on) and in general they screwed up a really good product. I really do not reccomend them, except perhaps as torture devices.

4 out of 5 stars good headset, nice sound quality.......2007-06-27

I bought this headset to use for adding voice comments to videos that I am editing. I used different microphones for that purpose before. But the problem was always that they caused a great deal of background noise. Now with this new headset the voice is crisp clear. The directional microphone also makes sure you don't get all the stupid stuff into your file that is going on somewhere else in the neighborhood. All in all it fits my purpose perfectly.
For me, there are only 2 minor inconveniences with this product: (1) The headset is pretty tight and not so well cushioned so it gets uncomfortable after a while. Not too bad but not very comfortable either.... (2) There is a switch on the cable to easily change the loudness and also to mute the microphone. That is a cool feature except that you can accidentally mute it very easily which happens to me all the time... I guess I could just position the switch out of reach...
Because of these little inconveniences I give it 4/5

3 out of 5 stars Works great, horrible customer service.......2007-06-21

Heaven forbid you try to use the warranty on this product, it's useless. Might as well get two for when the first one has a horrible death or stops working on you.

5 out of 5 stars No setup.......2007-06-15

good sound, no setup, works great for skype, long cord

5 out of 5 stars Great headphones.......2007-06-15

I have read some of the reviews below, and none of those are true or valid. They were obviously expecting some amazing incredible headset(not that these aren't great). These headphones are very nice for the price. I bought them at bestbuy for $45. They are meant for gaming and VOIP and do that just fine, I have had no problems yet and have had them for a few weeks now. If you need a great headset for gaming, communication, VOIP, etc, get these, you wont regret it.

5 out of 5 stars This is the best!!.......2007-05-15

I bought this on a gamble. I really didn't think it would work. Not at this price. I saw it in the name-brand store for $30. Well, I took a chance - and guess what, it WORKS!!! So for $6 (including shipping)I've got a printer cable that works just as well as the ones in the store for $30 (not including tax). What a deal!!

5 out of 5 stars sweet connection; sweet price .......2007-05-12

I connected my G4 imac to a Canon Pixma 460 printer without a problem. Saved $25.00 buying Tripp Lite USB cable than the Canon suggested Belkin cable. The Tripp Lite is quality and reliable!

Shipped quickly and works well. Great for the price. Had no problems with it so far.

Product Description

The DMC-FZ8 features the 12x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens that packs the same zoom power as a big, clunky 400 mm-class film camera lens. This 12x optical zoom lens is super-bright at f/2.8 to f/3.3 with a focal length of 6 to 72 mm. Rotate the lever a small amount for slow zooming, and a larger amount for high-speed zooming. This makes it easy to zoom in and out quickly when you need to or to slow down for finer zooming control. Zoom Resume stores your zoom position (magnification) in memory, so you can shoot with the same zoom setting once the power is turned on again. This helps make sure you don't miss those great shooting opportunities. The CCDs used in most digital cameras have much smaller light-receiving areas than film does, so photos tend to have a high depth of field. You can snap photos that capture the subject in a clear, sharp focus while giving the background a beautiful soft focus. 0.44-inch Viewfinder Color EVF (188 K Pixels), 100% Field of View Image Sensor - 1/2.5-inch AF Assist Lamp ISO Sensitivity - Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1250 (High Sensitivity Mode - 3200)Dial - P (Program), A (Aperture Priority), S (Shutter Priority), M (Manual) Mode, Simple and SCN Scene Mode - Portrait, Soft Skin, Scenery, Sports, Panning, Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Food, Party, Candle, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High Sensitivity, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow and Aerial Photo Shutter Speed Program AE - 1 - 1/2,000 seconds Aperture Priority AE / Shutter Priority AE - 8 - 1/2,000 seconds Manual - 60 - 1/2,000 seconds Built-in-Flash - Auto, Auto Red-eye Reduction, Forced On, Forced On Red-eye Reduction, Slow Sync Red-eye Reduction and Forced Off Dimensions - Width 4.43 x Height 2.84 x Depth 3.11 inch (112.5 x 72.2 x 79.0 mm) Weight - 357 grams with Battery and SD Memory Card (0.78 pounds)

4 out of 5 stars I like it!.......2007-06-28

I bought this camera about a month ago and have been using it in my digital photography class. It had all the options I needed to be able to learn all I needed to know about manually adjusting your ISO,f stops, shutter speeds, and all that good stuff. It allows you to become an artist in the process and not just a button pusher, so it's better than a basic point and shoot. Also, it has RAW format which conserves more of the data for later use in Photoshop editing. It takes spectacular pictures in most settings and is a very good looking piece of equipment.

Now, about the issue of VenusIII noise it does make me uncomfortable after 400 ISO but if you have a tripod or are a steady shot you should be able to pull of most shots, and can get by with the flash and a tripod at night or in low light. But, it is very good for a point and shoot. Some others may be better in low light but this one can take very good pictures for most of your shots and the Leica lens is super. Another gripe is that it does not have the field of view that I would have liked, which others have if you shop around. Over all I think it is a solid camera and if I could do it again I would have a hard time replacing it for the price.

And no, in my experience with other peoples' cameras, it does not compare to a DSLR as many have said these advanced point and shoots can. If you are a really serious amateur and can afford an SLR get one. If you are unsure about your seriousness or want a comparable camera, in most situations, get this one. But, if the shot is in a difficult environment with low light you want an SLR.

If I could do it all over again I'd save the money for an SLR. If you need one immediately for a class or just to learn there are cheaper cameras to learn on by Canon that have all the quality and features that you need to learn. If you are not serious and want to take pictures at BBQ's buy a simple point and shoot. If you just want one all around camera that you want to use for a while and take high quality photos, but not seriously, get this one it is pretty good for the price and will be hard to beat.

4 out of 5 stars Undersaturated - ended up with Fuji S6000fd instead.......2007-06-24

I purchased both the Fuji S6000fd and Panasonic FZ8 to compare them head to head. I was left very underwhelmed by the Panasonic's undersaturated pictures; they lacked any punch to them. I shot using "P" mode and IS mode 2. I must admit though -- the optical image stabilizer on this camera is absolutely amazing. It is FAR superior than the competition, especially when shooting at full telephoto.

Other than my being unhappy with the pictures, it was a very nice camera.

Pros:
- Long battery life w/ included rechargable li-ion battery
- Long 12x zoom
- Extremely effective image stabilizer
- Lightweight

I was able to tweak pictures in Photoshop by boosting saturation but I have no desire to do that for each and every picture. My S6000fd turns out great pictures as is, or more saturated pictures in F-chrome mode when I need it. I'm much happier with the Fuji since I don't do much full telephoto work.

5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!!.......2007-06-21

We bought this camera to take to Africa on our vacation. We LOVED this camera. It did a great job and really took great photos. We went to see the Gorillas and they took WONDERFUL pictures. Nice and clear and the zoom was excellent. Wish I would have bought this camera years ago. I like this one better than our Nikon. Awesome, awesome camera

4 out of 5 stars great camera, very pleased.......2007-06-17

I'm very pleased with this camera :)

cons
not so great photos at ISO 200+
the flash is set to forced off (all you have to do is pop it up and change it to forced on, no biggie)
action shots? still figuring out how to take them well with this camera

I've had it for about a week and so far Im loving it more and more
I havent had any problems and it's a great upgrade from my standard 4mp kodak
I'm still learning how otu se all the settings and all the tricks, the manual is very helpful

4 out of 5 stars Panasonic Lumix.......2007-07-01

This camera is great for what I use it for. I'm not an aspiring photographer, just someone who likes to take pictures. It has a lot of scene modes to make taking good pictures easy, and a great zoom too. I've seen some noise in my shots, but it's only visible when i digitally zoom in on the picture far beyond how much people would normally zoom in. It would take great 8x10's.

5 out of 5 stars Great camera.......2007-07-01

I recently purchased this camera to replace a Canon S2IS which I -unintentionally, but not unfortunately - dropped and smashed. I hated that camera from the moment I bought it; why people speak so highly of it is beyond me. Anyway, I wanted a reasonably simple, compact camera for family photos while we decided on a larger model for more serious photography. This was a great choice. I pretty much had it working right out of the box without ever cracking the manual. It might not take the same photos as a $3500 Leica, but then it's not a $3500 Leica. It does, however, take very good pictures and does so with a minimum of fuss. It may not fit in a shirt pocket, but it fits quite nicely in my pants pocket, and I can toss it in a beach bag without worrying that I've just committed a cardinal sin of financial proportions.

5 out of 5 stars Very nice camera for the price!.......2007-06-27

I just bought this camera a couple days ago to replace the HP I had that broke (the display inside cracked) and I really like it. It takes really nice pictures and I really like the 6X optical zoom with image stabilization. This camera is really nice for people like me who find it hard not to move when taking pictures. I would definitely recommend this camera to others. The price is great for all the features it has.

5 out of 5 stars quality camera.......2007-06-26

I purchased this camera as a replacement for my dead Canon Powershot A520 4MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom which was plagued with problems. The DMC-LZ7 functioned perfectly on the two trips I've taken it on, including a recent 3 week climb of Mount McKinley.

It takes great photos, the menu system is easy to navigate and the LCD is bright enough to use outdoors. However, I do wish it had a viewfinder. Best of all it's not Made in China.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE!.......2007-06-25

A great point and shoot camera!

I just finish shooting over 400 pictures this weekend (June 2007) and all of the pictures were great quality. Even my family was impressed with the quality of the photos. My cousin was surprised with a picture taken at night with little ambient light and using just the flash! Great battery life, easy to change scenery change mode, and ELECTRONIC ZOOM (great bonus feature).

The "con" with the camera is that the view screen could be improved when looking at it in the sunlight, but overall A GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE!!!
