Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes Store and sync them to your iPod, the whole world is your theater. With the Apple 30 GB iPod with Video Playback in hand, those movies fit comfortably next to TV shows, new iPod games, podcasts, audiobooks, photo albums, and, of course, an entire library of music--up to 7500 songs. How much can your pocket hold? That's up to you and your iPod, but no matter how you organize it, the iPod holds loads of songs and plenty of hours of video.
Your iPod library can now contain new iPod games, feature films, and up to 7,500 songs.
|
The same great iPod interface and ease of use that goes great in any hand.
|
With all your music at your fingertips, you may never want to stop listening. Lucky thing your iPod plays audio for hours and hours, or if you'd rather watch, you can feast your eyes on movies and TV shows for several hours without draining your battery. And you can count on the iPod to help you pack light. It is almost hard to explain exactly how 30 GB of storage can fit into an iPod that's over 30-percent thinner than the previous fourth generation. However it happened, it means you can carry more music and video absolutely anywhere you go. And with a 60-percent brighter screen, the vibrant display gives your album art, photos, and video extra oomph. As always, iPod makes finding what you want to hear a breeze. Plus, a new interface lets you search your iPod using the patented Click Wheel. And if you're a fan of live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it is played continuously, iPod supports gapless playback that seamlessly transitions from one song to another.
Music, Movies and TV Shows
Finding and playing music on your iPod is simple. Use the Click Wheel to adjust volume, navigate songs, or browse the Music menu by artists, composer, album, song, genre, or playlist. Want to mix things up? Simply click Shuffle Songs. iPod makes your music look as good as it sounds, thanks to its big, bright color display. Album art appears alongside your songs in the Now Playing screen, so you can see your music as you play it. After all, iPod loves music as much as you do.
Now you can watch a movie while waiting in line for tickets to one. Download movies from the iTunes Store, then sync them to your iPod to watch anywhere, anytime. The iPod's gorgeous display--now 60-percent brighter--makes your movies pop. And thanks to improved video playback time, iPod keeps you entertained for several hours--even longer if you reduce brightness using the new brightness control.
As for television programs, there's always something good on iPod. Browse thousands of episodes of your favorite TV shows on the iTunes Store, buy them for just a couple dollars each, then sync them to your iPod. Watch last night's episodes this morning, or buy a whole TV series and settle in for a pocket-size marathon. All your TV episodes display in order, so you can navigate them easily, and every episode you buy from iTunes is optimized to look great on the iPod's crystal-clear, 320 x 240-pixel display.
Podcasts, Audiobooks, Games, and Photos
The iTunes Store features thousands of free podcasts--radio-type shows you subscribe to--including indie favorites and offerings from big names such as, ABC News, Comedy Central, ESPN, PBS, NPR, and many more. Browse and subscribe to podcasts, then sync them to your iPod and listen anytime. Even video podcasts sync to go, and all your podcasts appear in their own menu on your iPod, so they're easy to navigate.
The iPod measures up nicely, and is over 30% thinner than the previous fourth generation.
|
The iTunes Store is the bridge between your iPod and all the content your heart desires.
|
The digital shelves of the iTunes Store are stocked with thousands of audiobooks, including such exclusives as the entire Harry Potter series. Download what you want, sync to your iPod and catch up on your reading the audio way. Just like podcasts, you can browse audiobooks in their own menu on your iPod. And your iPod automatically recognizes where you left off reading and bookmarks your place, so it is easy to dive back into the story. You can even change the reading speed to suit you--this is a perfect feature for learning a new language.
Now that the iTunes Store features iPod games, you can keep hours of fun at your fingertips. Download brand-new and classic games, including Bejeweled, Texas Hold 'Em, Vortex, Mahjong, Mini Golf, Pac-Man, Tetris, and Zuma, for just a few dollars each, then sync them to your iPod and play along with your favorite tunes. All iPod games from the iTunes Store are designed specifically for the fifth-generation iPod, and all of them look great on the 2.5-inch color display.
If you can fill your iPod with photos, then you've got a ton of images at your disposal. iPod holds tens of thousands of photos that you can sync from your Mac or Windows PC via iTunes. Use the Click Wheel to scroll through photo thumbnails the same way you scroll through song titles. To see a photo full-screen, just click the center button. You can even view photo slideshows--complete with music--on your iPod or on a TV via the optional iPod Video/Photo AV Cable. Select Slideshow Settings, choose the transition effect and the music, and then start the show.
Search, Settings, and Extras
With thousands of songs, audiobooks, and more on your iPod, you need an easy way to search and enjoy your collection. A brand-new, built-in search function lets you use the Click Wheel to type out the name of the song, artist, album, audiobook, or podcast you're looking for, and your iPod returns results instantly as you select letters--finding what you want couldn't be easier.
The fifth-generation iPod lets you customize menus, check capacity, change your language, change how your iPod sounds, and more, all from the easy-to-use Setting menu. Click About to see how many songs are on your iPod and how much room you have left. Click Main Menu to select what items appear in your Main Menu, tweak the built-in equalizer, or set a maximum volume limit--everything you need to personalize your iPod, from backlight timer to clicker sound effects, appear in Settings.
And, lastly, your iPod is loaded with extras. Everything from calendars, contacts, and the World Clock appear in the Extras menu, along with a few more handy items. Take the Screen Lock, for example. Spin the Click Wheel to choose a four-digit combination and protect your iPod from prying eyes. If you forget your combo, you can reset it at your next sync. Or use the built-in stopwatch to log your best times at the gym. And when it's finally time to play, the Extras menu lists all your games, including the ones you purchase from the iTunes Store.

Customer Reviews:
Problem and Soulution.......2007-07-02
The iPod was good and easy to use but there was something that got me a little angry...
Problem: If you touch the back of iPod or hold it normally like you'd hold a phone the back would get your finger prints and it'd be really annoying and the front to but you wouldnt need to touch the front often except for the button in the middle
Soulution: I bought rubber iPod thing over it and then i could hold it normally, so i suggest for people who hate getting scratches and finger prints on it, get rubber case or normal case or iPod Sticker Design or something to be able to use it normally and no finger prints or scratches!
Don't bother.......2007-07-01
I expected much better from an Apple product. The company does not stand behind it's products and woe betide the unsuspecting consumer who pays a lot, only to find his/her iPod broken just days after the warranty expires. Hard luck on you! Look elsewhere for a personal jukebox that is much easier to put your music in and which will last longer, and give far more value for your dollar.
This thing blows chunks.......2007-07-01
After owning one of these things for an inglorious three weeks, I cannot *believe* how popular the iPod is.
Why would you buy an iPod? To listen to music. That's the primary thing it's for. Given that millions have bought one and are perfectly content with them, I figured it must work properly. And in my mind, for a music player to work properly, it must have GOOD SOUND QUALITY! So imagine my surprise when I import some tunes onto the thing, and the bass sounds like a mix of mud and gravel, and the guitars and vocals are crackling and distorted. Nothing even close to the full, clean, dynamic sound I was accustomed to hearing from a CD.
I don't have expensive stereo equipment, and I'm not a sound technician or anything like that. But the sound on the iPod was so inferior to a CD that listening to music on it was far more frustrating for me than it was enjoyable.
I took mine back to the store. I'll happily return to carrying my Discman and 24-CD holder around with me, since they make me smile and bob my head to the music rather than grimace and shake my head in disappointment.
A few pros and cons, but overall very happy with it.......2007-06-29
So far I'm very pleased with my iPod. For me the plusses were:
1. Plays videos (I have many small clips I use for research).
2. Supports MS Word files (although the print is small, it's still readable).
3. Several TV shows are offered on the iTunes website that I like, such as those from the Nature Channel, History Channel, and Discovery Channel, and I can purchase the episodes that I missed and watch them at my leisure. Usually full-length TV shows are $1.99 each, which I think is reasonable.
4. The music capabilities are of course top notch--although that's the least of my needs--but it's nice to have when you want it.
5. Songs are usually 99 cents each, which is fine, too.
6. Although I didn't own an earlier iPod, people say this one is brighter, and I would call the screen brightness quite good. If you set the screen at half brightness it will save battery power and is still bright enough to see clearly.
For me there are only a few shortcomings, such as the mirror-black finish being too prone to fingerprints. The plastic screen is susceptible to scratching, but not being glass it's less likely to break. The battery life is still a bit limited (although I've read it's better than before).
The synching process has few quirks that you need to learn to use the device well (such as manually ejecting the iPod if one enables disk usage). If you click the box to enable disk usage, the iPod screen will keep saying "don't disconnect," which makes you think it isn't through synching yet, but the computer screen interface will tell you when its through, and then you can eject. But the first time it's sort of confusing.
Movies are somewhat expensive at $9.99 each, and the family oriented movies (such as Toy Story and so on) are $14.99 each, which I think is too much. I rarely watch movies more than once, so it's not cost effective for me to purchase movies unless it's something I really like and want to watch it during a plane flight or something. Audio books also seem to be almost as expensive as the original book.
But overall it's a great device and well worth the money. Finally, the PDA features, although not as sophisticated as those of a Palm Pilot or Pocket PC, are good enough for it to double as a PDA.
My New Pretty iPod.......2007-06-28
I just can say, "It's so nice." Actually, I didn't think that i could get such a good item like that 'cause i purchased the refurbished one. Thank you so much

Design
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the nüvi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there's plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device's interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.
Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the nüvi 350's 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to "plug-and-play" USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer's USB port and you've got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the nüvi 350's internal and SD card memory.
Navigation
The nüvi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go -- in your car or on foot-- the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the nüvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control-- making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique "text-to-speech" feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you're viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the nüvi 350 is compatible with Garmin's GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.
As mentioned, the nüvi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin's free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).
The device automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. |
Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the nüvi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in "Travel Kit" offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.
In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language -- right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit's text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.
Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo. These guides put in-depth travel information such as reviews and recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions, and more at your fingertips. The software allows you to navigate to an address or search points of interest-- places like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The nüvi 350 automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. The unit also audibly announces the name of upcoming streets-- letting you keep your eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. And if you stray off course, the nüvi 350 automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.
*Traffic services available only in select cities where RDS-TMC coverage exists. Requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and subscription fee to enable traffic capability.
What's in the Box
nüvi 350, travel kit, vehicle suction cup mount, carrying case, 12-24 volt adapter cable, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, sample language guide content, sample MP3s, and quick reference guide.
Customer Reviews:
A great help in navigation.......2007-07-02
I bought this GPS for our trip to south and the experience was wonderful. Ease of entering addresses, selecting our favorite places, real time maps and voice prompts help a lot! We never got lost. Wish total trip summary was displayed before start of driving. A solar charger will also be a great help when wired chargers get lost!
pleased with my purchase.......2007-07-02
i like this product and it has worked flawlessly for me since i got it a month ago. my only wish is that the MP3 player would support ITUNES. since it does not, i cannot add my music library to the GPS without redownloading all my albums.
Great Little GPS.......2007-07-01
Ordered on the 27th on my porch on the 29th of june (super saver shipping) Not Bad. Only drawback I see in using the item is that you cannot manualy enter routes. However, If you already know how to get somewhere you really don't need the gps map in the first place. The unit is still helpful in finding gas stations/resturants/ ect. Or detour around traffic. Oh and it came with 2008 maps. also a charger for car and home use. Hope this helps others out there with their purchase
One of the best GPS arounds.......2007-07-01
I purchased the nuvi 350 three months back after reading an extremely positive review in Business weekd and have travelled all over the place with this GPS device it has worked like a charm. All the features work really good as advertised. Getting setup was real easy.
Some minor negatives:
1. This device can have a real hard time in a crowded metropolitan area with too many freeways e.g DC area and Philadelphia downtown where it registered me on an incorrect road and took a while before it detected the correct location. This can cause issue if you are solely relying on GPS to guide you through. (Please note: this has happened only twice out of probably hundred journeys I have made).
2. MP3 player doesn't allow you to build playlist (although MP3 player will most likely will not be your motivation in buying this unit). However I felt that this device can have a huge potential with external memory card slot to organize your music collection and play in your car audio for a long trip.
3. I have had to reboot couple of times the device to get satellite signals when coming out of the parking garages.
All in all it's a fantastic device with really slick touch screen interface. I love the speed average view which gives you some cool statistics such as avg speed w/ & w/o break plus fastest speed for the trip.
great purchase.......2007-07-01
This is my first GPS system. It has some kinks. I have not figured out how to mute it after I have programed a location in it with out starting all over again. One thing that I do like is that it re routes fast. With out being long winded, I have a bad sense of direction and this is one of the best purchases I have ever made!

Amazon.com Product Description
The Omron HJ-112 Pocket Pedometer is an advanced, high-tech pedometer that--thanks to unique dual sensor technology--can be carried in your pocket or bag. Now you can just drop your pedometer in your purse to find out how much exercise you get in a typical day of work, errands, and other tasks. Of course, you can also attach it to your belt like a traditional pedometer.
A large, easy-to-read display helps you keep tabs on your workout. View larger. |
The HJ-112 accurately measures your steps, as well as aerobic steps and minutes. You can also use it to measure calorie consumption during your workout, as well as the distance you've traveled.
The device's large, easy-to-read LCD display can separately display aerobic steps and minutes walked more than 10 minutes continuously, so you always have the information you need right in front of you. Meanwhile, a seven day history lets you review a full week of exercise. The device also resets at midnight automatically so it's ready to go every morning. Of course, the device can also function as a handy and highly accurate clock. It also comes with a detachable belt holder and security strap so it's always close at hand.
The HJ-112 is powered by a replaceable lithium battery (CR2032) that will last six months when used for walking 10,000 steps a day. The device measures approximately 2.8 x 2.1 x .6 inches (H x W x D) and weighs 1.1 ounces (not including battery).
What's in the Box
Pedometer, battery (CR2032), screwdriver, strap, clip for strap, holder, and instructional manual.

Q&A - Pedometers
Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.
How does the PC software work?
The HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer includes PC software for Windows 2000 or XP. It keeps track of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly progress.
Customer Reviews:
it will do what it says it will do.......2007-06-30
this product as I'm concerned it's the best on the market highly recommend for anyone to buy
MAKE SURE YOU USE THE EXTRA CLIP!!!.......2007-06-29
I have used this pedometer for a while and bought about 25 of them for friends at work. Everybody loves them. They are pretty accurate (better than any others I've used). The only thing you want to make sure is to attach the cord and the extra clip and USE IT AT ALL TIMES! About three of my friends lost their's pretty quick because they didn't attach the extra clip. My pedometer unclips all the time (maybe once a day) but it has never fully come off because I use the extra clip.
Great Pedometer.......2007-06-28
I love it. If you are trying to get more active, you should try it. I find it keeps me motivated to try to add more steps than the day before. Plus you can keep track of how active, or inactive you are on your PC.
WOW this goes beyond my expectations.......2007-06-28
I have to say since I have received my Omron HJ-7201TC Pocket Pedometer with Advanced Omron Health Management Software on May 22, 2007, I have walked a total of 74.75 miles since. I LOVE MY OMRON - it's so nice to clip this product to my side and off I go. I love the usb and the software is awesome down to the hour of time you walked, charts and graphs are awesome.
This is a little gem - With a little help from Tech Support to set up my Omron (Customer Service was a pleasure to deal with, I might add) I was up and walking.
I love the fact that I can walk a number of times a day and have my pedometer total the whole day for me down to the hour.
This is money well spent - Omron has a customer for life in me.
A great buy!.......2007-06-27
This little item has almost become another appendage. I love the fact it can just slip into your pocket. The slim profile is not bulky at all and very comfortable. Most other pedometers I've tried have to be attached at your waistband or belt and usually end up digging into your skin.
Using this on a day to day basis really motivates me to walk more. I also like the fact it store your history for seven days and converts to miles, calories and even tracks how many of your steps were aerobic.
Great product at a great price! I'd highly recommend it.

Product Description
Chic, simple. Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful. Customer Reviews:
Can it get any better??.......2007-07-02
I'll get straight to point. I am an amateur when it comes to photography. Canon PowerShot SD1000 is my first camera. What I was looking in a camera was good picture quality, lots of great features, ease of handling, not too complicated interface with a computer and light weight. Ladies and gentlemen I am glad to inform you that Canon PowerShot SD1000 has all those and then some more.
Good for daylight shooting........2007-06-30
I recently purchased the SD 1000 to replace a Nikon Coolpix E5600. The SD 1000 has a very appealing design (depending upon your taste of course but in any case, it doesn't look cheap) and as you can see from pictures posted on this site, it is small and very pocketable. The SD series is all about small form factor and lack of full manual controls (as offered on some of the A series cameras) but good point and shoot capabilities. In this regard, the SD 1000 delivers what the rest of the SD series promises. Fast and accurate focusing, face detection that really works (and I mean good face exposure and not just detection), very fast response with almost unnoticeable shutter lag; surprisingly fast burst mode (even with a slow SD card), accurate color and many other features mentioned by other reviewers. As I said, I wasn't expecting full manual controls as the small size was more important for me (I already own a Digital Rebel). You do get control over the ISO settings and the white balance. The first is particularly important which takes me to the aspect that I don't like about this camera. Being a 7.1 megapixel camera, I expected some noise, but not as much as I got with the Auto ISO setting and no flash (available light) indoors. Believe me when I say that indoor pictures with these settings are VERY noisy. You can avoid this by lowering the ISO setting to 200 or less. But then, the lens is so slow that camera shake becomes an issue, making it almost impossible to take a good picture with available light under low lighting conditions. ISO settings higher than 200 are pretty much worthless because of the high noise levels (even higher than my horrible Coolpix). This is a shame as this camera is very good under good lighting conditions. I guess I will just have to use the flash indoors or carry my D-SLR. I don't recommend this camera as your sole travel companion (you never know when you're going to be in a situation where flash can't be used) or if you expect to shoot a lot indoors with no flash. I still like overall performance and small form factor so I give it four stars.
Completely satisfied - Canon SD1000.......2007-06-29
Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver)
First, I know not to look for any digital but Canon. I decided on the SD1000 after checking spec's, reviews; all that. But, you know, I just like the look of this digital. No nonsense, no gew-gaw, nothing sticking out too far. The retro minimalist design is clean. Some may say cheap. But, they just don't get the appeal. Some just need the glitter, I guess. The camera?, it works. Very well. Images are incredibly sharp and vibrant. Of course, you're still responsible for what you're framing, but outside of that, it's pretty much handled. I think the camera is a good value for the money, comparing it up and down the field.
I might also suggest to pop for the Sandisk extreme III 2 gig SD card. Wowwee, it's fast.
I'm not too quick to write a review of my purchases but, I'm very impressed with the Canon SD1000.
50% of my photos are out of focus.......2007-06-28
I recently bought this camera as a replacement for an older 2.1mp Canon PowerShot S100. I own a great digital SLR, but my wife and I like to have a simple point+shoot for short trips, easy carrying, etc. My older Canon was fine, this new SD1000 is not. I'm going to give it another few days (max), but I'm quite close to returning it.
Why? The *one thing* this camera is supposed to do well is take photos in automatic mode. I don't want to mess with camera settings - for that, I take my SLR and fiddle to my heart's content. With a point+shoot, you're supposed to do just that: point and shoot.
The basic problem I've observed (after ~500 photos) is the auto-focus is *terrible*. I tried different lighting scenarios: indoor (flash), indoor (no flash), outdoor (daylight+flash), outdoor (daylight, no flash). The results were the same: approximately half of the photos turned out poorly, and almost always it was due to the autofocus.
For example, I took a photo of a subject positioned directly in front of the camera, directly in the middle of the viewfinder, about 3 feet away. The subject took up approximately 40% of the view, and again, was positioned directly in front of the camera. Instead of doing what you think autofocus would do, the camera somehow decided to focus on the background scene, completely blurring the foreground. If I checked the photo on the camera, it looked fine but that's only because you cannot perceive focus problems on a 2" lcd screen. Once I transferred the photo to my computer, it was immediately evident that the focus was completely wrong and the photo was unusable.
This autofocus blurring happened repeatedly, in varying light conditions, and is flat out terrible. I still have my Canon S100, and despite being an older, slower, and much lower resolution camera (2.1 vs. 7.1 megapixels), I'm tempted to keep using it instead.
so small !.......2007-06-27
Exactly what I was looking for: great picture, fast reaction, and so small it fits in your pocket so you have it handy with you and without people noticing.

For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.
With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. 4 week delay.......2007-07-02
Yes this unit is all that they say and works great. But my unit got lost in the mail. It finally arrived 4 weeks later. So much for Amazon's free shipping. It is really annoying waiting for something to ship every day not having it arrive. I'll pay for UPS shipping from now on and skip the aggravation.
Unbelievable!.......2007-07-01
Before buying the Plantronics Voyager 510 I read all the reviews I could find. After what some people said, I was a little apprehensive when I finally ordered it. But my apprehension was unwarranted. I've been using it for a week now and it has completely changed my attitude towards my cell phone (which I used to hate). The sound quality is terrific--just like talking to the person face-to-face. And I can hear perfectly even when I'm in the car and the radio is playing. The person I'm talking to can hear me when I'm talking in a normal voice and I've been told that the sound quality is as good as an old fashioned wired phone (remember those?). Unlike one of the other reviewers here, I don't find the on/off button to be located in an awkward place. In fact, all of the controls seem to be well-located. I love the voice-dialing feature, which lets me call someone in my phone book without having to fumble with my phone. (Your phone has to have this capability for it to work, but most newer phones do.) If you'd like to be able to do other things while talking on the phone, get one of these. You won't regret it!
Met all my expectations!.......2007-06-29
I purchased the Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset because my husband had one and raved about it. I'm more than pleased! It stays on my ear securely and after a very short while, I forget I'm even wearing it. Voice clarity is also good. The on/off button is kind of small and stiff, but that's my only negative.
Works every time.......2007-06-29
This unit always synchs up and works perfectly. Every time. Comfortable and good volume, easy to adjust and end calls. No hassles. Strong battery life. More subtle with much of it behind the ear, definitely not as goofy looking as the star-trek-look devices with bright LED's and ear hardware. (I think there should be a law that if you wear ONE of those, you have to wear TWO, thus identifying yourself as a hopeless techno-geek.)
What a Loser!.......2007-06-29
I bought this head set after all of the great reviews I read but I've had nothing but problems. The unit doesn't hold a charge through one average length phone call. I found it difficult to keep the unit in my ear while talking. The Ear piece is so bulky that I could not wear glasses or sunglasses while using it. I have wasted my money on this product.

Customer Reviews:
great upgrade from SD110.......2007-07-02
I got the Canon PowerShot SD800 as an upgrade to my aging PowerShot SD110.
The screen size, video capability, and speed are a dramatic improvement. I have had this camera about 4 months. I have taken it on vacation and have probably taken well over 1000 photos. The image quality is excellent and the wide angle lens is a very nice feature, especially for taking shots of buildings.
The video quality is impressive... I wasn't sure about this initially, but the image quality of the video and the sound quality is excellent. I am by no means an advanced photographer, I'm just a point and shooter who takes many shots, hoping a good one will fall into the mix. With a decent size memory card (I have a 4gig) you can load up on photos in this well designed, easy to carry package.
I would definitely by a Canon a 3rd time, and this is my camera recommendation until I see something better.
I love this camera !.......2007-07-01
My camera came a couple of days ago from Amazon and I love it. Start up is superfast and writing to my SD card is so much faster than my old camera. I have taken a couple of dozen indoor shots without flash and they came out great. The image stabilization really works. Outdoor shots came out clear and the colors are so vibrant. I didn't need to install any software to transfer the pictures to my desktop (I'm using Windows Vista). The computer detected the camera automatically and gave me options as to which photo program to use to view my pictures. My laptop will be even easier since it has a built in card reader.
The camera feels comfortable in my hands and the controls are easy to access, although my hands are small and it might be a little harder for someone with large hands to use this camera. The mode dial is sometimes a little tricky to turn and I end up pushing it so hard, I turn past the setting I wanted. Best to use your thumb on that dial. I like the lighted power button and the LCD Monitor is large and bright. The one reviewer was correct when they said that the pictures come out clearer than the monitor sometimes displays. I haven't needed to use the viewfinder yet to take a shot, but living in Florida, I know that this feature will be handy on a very bright day. The lens opens and retracts quickly and I am enjoying the wide angle feature. We just remodeled our house and it's great being able to take shots of an entire room to send to family members. I haven't noticed any distortions on the sides yet.
The one complaint that is justified is how flimsy the battery and terminal covers are. I'm really surprised that Canon would use such cheap plastic on such a quality camera. I actually feel like I'm performing delicate surgery when I'm connecting the interface cable to the camera to transfer pictures to my computer. It's not a deal breaker, but I'll be very disappointed if either of these covers break off. I would give this camera 4 1/2 stars if I could just because of this issue. I also think that Canon could do better than a 16 Mg SD card. Cards are cheap now and at least a 512 mg card would give you a chance to get started before you upgraded to a larger card.
That said, this really is a wonderful camera. Please do not compare this to a more expensive SLR camera. This is a point and shoot with some nice features, but it's not what a professional would use. I love that I can easily take this with me anywhere I go and always be ready for that perfect "photo op". A camera won't do me much good sitting home in a camera bag (which is what my Kodak Z7590 does- great camera, but too big and bulky to carry around).
Do your homework before purchasing any camera and be realistic about which features are most important to you. There a quite a few good professional review web sites out there. I think that this camera's best features are the size, image stabilization, and wide angle lens.
Fabulous.......2007-06-30
I went to a local electronics retailer with a good return policy and bought the best camera form all the major brands. The Canon had the best picture quality by a long shot in this class. Also, the time from turning on the camera to taking a picture was one of the fastest which has allowed me to catch pictures of my son that other cameras would have missed.
No issues so far.......2007-06-27
I bought this camera 6 weeks back and have used it on 3-4 occassions. So far I haven't seen any issue. It shoots great pictures. I haven't had any problem with red-eye in 300-400 shots I have taken so far indoors, outdoors, during days and nights.
I love it and so does my wife.
Best camera I've used.......2007-06-27
The image stabilization feature in this camera really helps when taking pictures in low-light conditions. I also find the custom shoot mode very useful since it allows me to set up a group shot, then have it take multiple photos after a 10 second pause. That way we get at least one where someone isn't blinking.
It improved over the SD600 model by moving the toggle switch from the absolute corner of the camera where it would occasionally get bumped into video mode.
And 3.8x zoom is pretty dang good for a point and shoot. Yes, you can zoom to 15x, but anything after 3.8x uses digital zoom, which tends to degrade quickly.

micro sd cards.......2007-07-02
The micro sd adapter worked well with th micro card and was included in the purchase
Works well, but watch compatability.......2007-07-01
Works great on Samsung devices, no issues plug-and-play. But for the Pearl, which one would think has all the bells and whistles, found that the card wouldn't work, as Blackberry had limited the micro card to 1G. But otherwise, good buy.
Recomendado!!!.......2007-06-27
Compatibilidad 100% con telefonos nokia.
Adicionalmente es increible adquirir accesorio de alta capacidad a bajo precios.
Make sure that your card reader supports 2GB.......2007-06-27
Okay, I admit that I was blinded by the extreme low price for 2GB of flash memory. So blind, in fact that I purchased the product before checking if my card reader (an Epson printer with built in card reader) would support a 2GB card. Of course, it doesn't. I have no problems using it in my phone, but in order to transfer the files I had to borrow a friends (new) laptop that did support it. So -- check first and save yourself some grief.
Professional Business (Tech4Bargains).......2007-06-27
Ordered the Micro SD 2GB along with a HCT 8525 PDA. The Micro SD was handled professionally and I received it promptly. The PDA was another story (advertised in stock but wasn't), so I cancelled that part of the order. My only question (otherwise I would rate it 5 stars) is why shipping costs $7 for a $20 order (albeit a very small item)? Other than that, all businesses (3) involved treated the order/cancellation process painlessly. Kudos-

Exceptional Value.......2007-06-27
This review is for those of you that have not yet made the I-iPod plunge. I was a bot late to the game myself on this one. My children, and their friends, really led the way on this. Now that I am finally all in, I cannot say enough about the various uses of the iPod, and its overall ease of use. In addition to being able to download the latest and greatest from iTunes, you can also put any of your own existing CD collection on your iPod. I personally take advantage of the many available books on CD. I have downloaded audio books from various sites on the Internet. In fact, I do not have an iPod/MP3 adaptor in my car, so I purchased a device that allows me to play my iPod via the radio. This really is an incredible device that is well-worth the price. To not have an iPod in today's day and age is a bit like not having a VCR or Microwave in the 80's. By the way, putting songs/books on your iPod is very intuitive. Once or twice will teach you how to do it. If you have a problem, just have a teenager give you a brief class. This is a 5 star product.
Excellent Choice.......2007-06-13
My iPod is one of the best purchases that I have done, is very practical, useful and the sound is outstanding.
about the iPod nano.......2007-06-13
The Apple 2GB iPod nano is very easy to use. I like the feature of putting CD's that I already have on it. I also like the charger so I don't have to always use the computer to charge.
great product.......2007-06-13
I love it. I have photos, books and music on it. I exercise with it and recently used it on a long car trip. It's easy to operate and to download info on it. Next time I'll get even more gigs.
I love my iPod!.......2007-06-12
This is my first experience with an iPod. I travel all the time and am so sick of hearing everyone's cell phone conversations in airports. So, I bought this iPod and downloaded all my favorite songs from iTunes. The sound is incredible and there's plenty of space for songs - I don't think I'll have 500 songs for a long while. It's so lightweight and easy to use. I don't regret this purchase at all.
Average customer rating:
- Nice bells & whistles, but burned in the end

Amazon.com Product Description
Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes Store and sync them to your iPod, the whole world is your theater. With the Apple 80 GB iPod with Video Playback in hand, those movies fit comfortably next to TV shows, new iPod games, podcasts, audiobooks, photo albums, and, of course, an entire library of music--up to 20,000 songs. How much can your pocket hold? That's up to you and your iPod, but no matter how you organize it, the iPod holds loads of songs and plenty of hours of video.
Your iPod library can now contain new iPod games, feature films, and up to 20,000 songs.
|
|
It is almost hard to explain exactly how 80 GB of storage can fit into an iPod that's the same size as the 60 GB model before it.
|
|

I finally bought into the Ipod hype this January and purchased 2 80 gigs; one for me and my Sis. It's a very good device with lots of plusses and few minues. The one thing I MUST WARN about is to not run or even jog on a treadmill with your 80 gig Ipod. I'm a distance runner and 30 minutes into running on the treadmill the Ipod will skip and go out. My Ipod was in a sports armband when this happened. A screen would repeatedly pop up saying something about a firmwire accessory not being supported when there was nothing even plugged into the Ipod. I disregarded it and eventually got pretty much burned in the end. Now my Ipod is recognized by any computer and the only way I can charge it is to use a dock. And even when it's charged, the battery drains so dramatically fast that it lasts 2 hours tops. I've even fully charged it and let it sit overnight and the battery manages to drain itself overnight. So now I cannot add anything to it and I haven't even filled half of it. Moral of the story, do not use your Ipod while excercising. Luckily my Sis never used the Ipod I bought her so I'm hoping to get it from her. But I still threw $350 bucks to the wind none the less...
Not worth it.......2007-07-01
Please, if you are considering purchasing this product, be aware that the company does not stand behind their product. It will break just after the warranty expires and they do not repair their iPods, only replace them. If you happen to be days outside your warranty they'll tell you they will take back the broken one and give you 10% off a new one. Look elsewhere for a product much easier to use and more reliable. Don't waste your money on this item.
A MUST BUY!!!!!!!!.......2007-06-29
This iPod has great quality, even without iTunes plus (Some people might not know what that is). It has amazing quality for videos also. I was amazed at how clean the picture was! Although the one downside was it had a lot of fingerprints on the finish and it could scratch without a case on.
Nice replacement for my iPod mini.......2007-06-28
I bought this 80GB iPod video to replace my 2-year-old iPod mini (the battery was shot), and also to serve as an external hard drive for my PC laptop. So far it's working great, and I love it! My music, movies, podcasts, etc. are easy to navigate through the menus, and the iPod itself is very easy to use. The click-wheel is not as sensitive as it was on my mini, so I no longer have any problems with music unintentionally skipping or pausing. My videos show up great on the color screen, and even low-definition videos I download from YouTube or elsewhere appear to be high-quality on my iPod screen. I have most of my music library (about 5,000 songs) and 5 videos (including 4 full-length movies) on the iPod, and it's not even half way full yet. I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase.
However, the biggest drawback is that the screen and body of the iPod smudges very easily due to fingerprints. I would have also preferred that it come with a belt clip -- I used the belt clip that came with my iPod mini whenever I took it out of my carrying case. The dock that comes with this iPod in the box is very flimsy and I couldn't use it. The carrying case that comes with is it OK and will help protect the iPod from smudging and damage until you manage to procure a better carrying case (I ordered the Belkin II with kickstand). Also, I originally intended to purchase the black iPod, but the price went up at the last minute so I bought this one instead. I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase -- Amazon has the cheapest price on the Internet because they offer free super saver shipping on the iPod itself and also on the carrying case I purchased along with my iPod.
Side note: I sold my iPod mini online to a trading company called NextWorth, and they are giving me cash for it. I recommend this if you are replacing an old iPod with this one.
Notes from a new Ipod user..........2007-06-28
I got my Ipod, and immediately it started working. Then, all of a sudden, it flipped out and stopped. I couldn't get it running. I tried the soft reset, nothing. Then I finally called the applecare and they told me to do the soft reset (toggle the hold switch, then hold the menu/center buttons together). After the apple logo comes on, you then stop holding the menu/center and click the center & play button together. This saved my ipod, and me from the hassle of returning it to Amazon.

Product Description
The Wii Remote Controller makes gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology -- creating a multifunctional device limited only by the imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on.

To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated- the result is the Wii Remote. Nintendo fused the global familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device that differentiates the Wii from any other console that has come before it.
Revolutionary control
Sporting the dimensions of a small traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multifunctional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. The magic of the Wii Remote's design lies within; acellerometers inside the controller body measure movement in all directions and at all speeds. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket as you swing your arm for a long forehand or a quick and hard backhand. In a 4x4 driving game it serves as a steering wheel, allowing you to swerve to avoid obstacles or pickup power-ups. In first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as a firearm that you can point directly at an on-screen enemy. The list of potential uses is enormous, and the light weight of the Wii Remote allows gamers to play for hours without feeling fatigued.

As comfortable as it is functional
The Wii Remote is equally comfortable in right and left hands and houses just the right number of buttons for gaming- not so many that new players will get confused, but enough so that Wii games don't feel constrained. On the face of the remote are the D (or "plus") pad, a large "A" button which is used for major on-screen actions, and two small options buttons. Between the game buttons are a plus and minus buttons (which often act as "forwards" and "back"), as well as a "Home" button to engage the Wii home screen to change settings or check remote battery levels. On the back side of the controller is a trigger-like "B" button, perfect for timing releases of a bowling roll in Wii Sports.
Thankfully, battery life is excellent with the two included AA batteries, just as with the previous generation of Nintendo wireless controllers.
Immersive intelligence
Along the bottom of the Wii Remote, four blue LED lights indicate which player position the remote is currently set to. The controller automatically connects to the Wii console via Bluetooth wireless technology. Below the LEDs, an expansion port lets you connect a number of devices including the Nunchuck and Classic controllers for Virtual Console gaming (Virtual Console games and controller accessories sold separately). Other features of the Wii Remote include adjustable rumble force-feedback and a reinforced wrist strap to ensure safe use. A speaker inside the remote gives the player feedback about the strength of swings or the accuracy of their moves- such as realistic tennis noises as the "racket" connects with the ball in Wii Sports. Overall, the physical design of the remote is extremely sturdy and of very high quality, ensuring countless hours of Wii gaming fun!

Best controller of this generation and perhaps beyond!.......2007-07-01
This is a fantastic device. I don't know what I could say that hasn't already been said, but here goes:
1) Motion sensing.
2) Light.
3) Great button layout.
4) Sound!
5) Navigating the 'net is awsome!
6) Blue tooth.
Cons:
1) Short battery life.
2) Interference with obstacles.
All in all, it's the best of this generation and set the standard for others to follow (look at PS3's contoller, and MS looking to make something like it).
Five starz!
dont buy this.......2007-06-28
this thing broke the first time i used it...i opened up my wii and started playing wiisports and this thing broke the first time i tried to do a strike....dont buy this!!!!
Great........2007-06-25
As far as gameplay goes, the Wii remote is a fantastic newcomer to the gaming world. It adds a new level of interactivity that has rarely been seen before. There are only a couple of downsides that prompted me to give it a 4 star rating.
Oftentimes, your cursor can get lost off the screen and it takes a few moments to find it.
What I feel is the worst design flaw is the fact that Nintendo didn't put some sort of a power switch on the remote. Something...anything...that would let you turn the thing off and KEEP it off. I suppose it wouldn't be all that bad if I kept the Wii at home most of the time. But I often take it over to friends' houses. I use the G-Pak traveling case and there's no way to really strap the remotes down to keep them from shifting around. When they jostle around against eachother, the buttons are pressed and the remotes instantly attempt to sync up with the Wii. They will continue doing this until the buttons aren't pressed for a little while. This is pretty annoying. Especially when you get everything hooked up at your friends' house only to find that your battery life has been sapped.
But other than this frustrating aspect, the Wii remote is wonderful.
A necessary purchase for multiplayer use!.......2007-06-20
If you have a Wii, another remote is necessary for multiplayer use.
For those who don't know what a Wii remote is, here's a description:
You get one Wii remote with your Wii. The Wii remote is almost like a real remote in that to play, you must point the remote to the screen and press buttons on the remote. Most buttons are used for game play but you also have a home button which acts as a "Start" button when comparing it to other video game systems that pauses the game and can take you back to the main screen. The bottom of the remote lights up and if you're using more than one remote, each remote will light up different squares to show you which player you are. For example, if the second square is lit on your remote, you would know that you're player 2. There's also a strap that you place on your wrist so that you don't accidentally throw the remote across the room while your playing.
Battery-wise, my batteries haven't died yet and I've used them a few times a week for a couple of months (each time playing 1 hour or more). However, I have a battery charger on hand to charge them when they die rather than getting more expensive batteries because even more expensive batteries die eventually.
To completely enjoy the Wii to the fullest, an extra controller (or two or three) would be a wise thing to purchase.
