The Sylvania 6727DD is an attractive TV that does it all--from viewing DVD movies on its large 27-inch screen to listening to MP3 audio from burned CDs to recording programs using the integrated 4-head, hi-fi VCR. The TV offers a 181-channel tuner, an MTS/SAP stereo system with 3-inch speakers, multilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, and French). The 6727DD has a 47-key remote that controls all of its functions.

The multiformat DVD player is compatible with DVD+R/W, DVD-R/W, audio CD, and CD-R/W discs as well as MP3 audio files. Other DVD playback features include a four-step high-speed search scanning ability (2x, 8x, 50x, and 100x), and still frame, slow motion, and frame-by-frame advance. The audio system offers virtual surround and DTS stream output.

The four-head VCR component features still-frame and slow-motion play, three-speed playback (SP, LP, SLP), and two-speed record (SP, SLP). The built-in timer allows you to record up to 8 programs at different times on different channels up to 1 year in advance.

Other features include:

One coaxial antenna input.
One set of line-in audio/video connectors (RCA jacks) on the front.
One set of line-out audio/video connectors (RCA jacks) on the back of the set.
One headphone jack on the front of the unit.
The V-Chip function can read the rating of a TV program or movie content if the program is encoded with this information. The V-Chip will also allow you to set a restriction level.

Fantastic TV Plays All DVD Formats, MP3's and Real Player Fi.......2005-05-21

I love this TV. I received this TV as a christmas gift in 2004 and have been incredibly happy. I just popped it out of the box hooked my cable into the back and plugged it in (super easy). This tv has really cool functions and was easy to connect to my bose audio system. The VCR and DVD all in one option is just great and I love how it even plays Realplayer movies and MP3's. Also, I've never found a DVD, even homemade DVD's that wouldn't play in this player. I cant say enough about the color and clarity of picture, (much better than my Sony WEGA) and just incredible sound with all sound options (TruSurround, 5.1, Samart Audio etc). For those of you concerned about audio jacks this TV is loaded front and back including 1 set of RCA out for your Audio Sustem and 2 sets of input in the back and one in the front as well for a total of 3 sets of inbound jacks. Also the remote is friendy to use and very straight forward.

I waited to write this review because I wanted to take time to really put this set through its paces. I'm so glad I got this one. Take my word for it this is a really great TV and incredible value. Also, being an apartment dweller this TV was easy to pack and move and set up when I moved to my new place. HANDS DOWN A WINNER :)!

TV and VCR sound.......2004-07-21

The sound from the TV and VCR uses the small and not too good speakers. The sound is tinny and no way to adjust. Also no output jacks to feed it to another amp. The DVD sound can be fed to a home theater system and is very good. Why can't they also feed the TV/VCR sound???? The customer service is not good. Since I was fortunate enough to have bought it as a retailer that will accept returns with no hassle I probably will do just that.

A lot of bang for the buck!.......2004-05-06

WE purchased this item when our VCR went out. We decided instead of having a VCR and a DVD player hooked up with all the wires running to the TV just to get one unit with everything. It has been great. Great picture, DVD plays perfectly and the VCR is nice to have for all the VHS tapes we still own. Makes everything look so much cleaner in the family room. I definitely recommend this piece.
