With its big picture and relatively small price, this 32-inch set offers massive value. The AV-32430's dark-tinted picture tube provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture, while its three-line comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped t-shirt). The set provides stereo audio (front-firing speakers) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. Hyper Surround Sound simulates surround sound from the set's two speakers.A component-video input grants optimum connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between two sets of rear audio/video inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience (great for hooking up a camcorder or gaming console). A rear stereo audio output is in place to hook the set up with an amplifier or surround receiver.
The set's Hyper-Scan high-speed channel changer is one of the fastest in the industry, while Return+ lets you return to a channel via the 10-key pad, even after sequentially scanning other channels.
