B+W Redhancer improves the color saturation of reds, oranges and earth-tone colors such as rust, brown and amber. The range of colors improved by the B+W enhancing filter makes it popular for use on autumn foliage and brownish-red scenic compositions, such as those found at the Grand Canyon. It is also the filter of choice for intensifying the red in objects such as tomatoes, cherries, strawberries, lipstick and fire engines. For more dramatic and exciting effects, the enhancing filter may be combined with B+W polarizing filter. Filter factor is 2.

Our eyes are naturally drawn towards red. Red is the most powerful color and will dominate a scene even if it occupies only a small portion of the picture. However, warm colors often arent as vibrant in photographs as in real life. One solution to this is to shoot with a red enhancing filter. B+W Red Enhancing filters are made of didymium glass. This glass contains two rare elements: praseodymium & neodymium. These elements transmit & selectively absorb certain wavelengths of light, enhancing certain colors, especially reds. If the reds in the scene are already very vibrant, you might not see a great difference. Where the enhancers do work is on scenes containing warmer hues & weaker reds. Reds arent the only color enhanced. Yellows become more golden and oranges become deeper with a slight shift towards red. Browns also become warmer. Warmer colors have more positive connotations and therefore are often more desirable. Red enhancing filters are perfect for autumnal woodland scenes, especially if the foliage color has begun to fade or the weather is dull. Red enhancing filters also intensify sunrise & sunsets.the pale shades of yellow, orange, and red will become much stronger. Why B+W brand? B+W filters are made to the same high technology standards that are used in the production of the worlds finest lenses. They are diamond cut from German Schott optical glass, precision ground, polished and tested to the finest lens quality to ensure flatness and parallel thickness.
