The FlexScan T566 features new advances in hardware and software that make it an ideal work environment for creating, editing, and viewing graphic and video images. Employing a flat, aperture-grill CRT, it offers 400 cd/m2 brightness to complement the many image display variations available from Eizo's DesktopViewer software.

DesktopViewer viewing software (compatible with Windows 2000/XP only) can display a JPEG or bitmap image, or any selected part of the screen, in an overlay window to a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m2, as well as enlarging or reducing it and freely altering its brightness, contrast, chroma, hue, and gamma values (support for editing functions varies with the graphics card used). Because DesktopViewer uses the graphics card's video memory, capturing an image and changing its size are performed more quickly and smoothly than with conventional software.

PRINT Image Matching (P.I.M.) technology, developed by Seiko Epson Corporation, optimizes the tone, color, and detail of images captured with a P.I.M.-enabled digital camera by recording and retaining the original settings and other print-specific data (color space, gamma level, etc.) for each image. Incorporated in the FlexScan T566, it allows such images to be viewed, edited, and (with a P.I.M.-enabled printer) printed out at the highest level of accuracy. A one-touch button on the front panel grants access to five specialized image adjustment modes: Text, Browser, Picture, Graphic, and Movie, each with its own settings for color temperature, brightness, and contrast. An sRGB mode initiated via the OSD is also available.

Dual input terminals allow simultaneous connection to two computers. With longer, top-quality service life assured by its color restoration function, the FlexScan T566 opens up a world of exciting new possibilities in image optimization.
