LINUX Ready PCMCIA Card.......2007-04-12
You don't even need the 'Install CD" for 802.11b/g at 54Mbs!
Don't get the F5D7011B, or the Version 2000, they do not work in the above listed Linux O.S.es.
Save your time and money - buy something else.......2007-03-03
Mac OS X 10.3.9 / Pismo Compatible.......2006-05-02
Caused problems from the start.......2005-12-02
You get what you pay for.
From the moment you install it in windows XP, you get a warning that says that this product is not approved by microsoft to work with windows XP and may cause conflicts and destabilize your computer. "bollocks," I said, I just figured it was microsoft trying to get you to purchase some other high-priced product rather than an off brand.
So far as the install software is concerned, the second bad omen after the "may destabilize your 'puter" window was the fact that my notebook froze up towards the end of the install. On further restarts, it took the computer about five minutes each time to shut down.
I was never able to connect to my network.
Lest somebody thinks the problem was my 'puter, I got a linksys card and it's working mahvelously dahling.
I won't go accross the board and say it's a terrible card. Maybe other people with other OSs might not have such a hard time with it. But for those of you running XP, who still choose to go with the cheaper Belkin, I would strongly suggest you save your receipt in case you have conflicts like I did.
Mac OSX 10.4, Tiger, Compatible.......2005-06-07
I then purchased this F5D7011 card, which utilizes the Broadcom chipset (as in AirPort cards), and it it works in Tiger using the AirPort software in my Powerbook G4 (DVI, 667MHz). Oddly, the normal 'AirPort Setup Assistant' application did not work, but the 'AirPort Setup Assistant for Graphite or Snow' hooked up just fine.
Others have claimed similar success with F5D7010 ver 1000 or 2000, which also utilize the Broadcom chipset. These should also work in Tiger, but I have not tried these directly and cannot confirm the findings.
I'm very happy with the new setup. No more buggy Ralink software, and wireless access while in OS X 10.4. Hope this works for you too.
