Great card, needs a slight adjustment on bracket.......2007-05-18

I bought this cards form Eforcity. At first it didn't work, but I carefully looked at how it was seated. Then I reseated it square and it worked fine. The screw mounting bracket is about 1/16 inch off, and requires gently bending the bracket with vicegrips so that the screw mount is correct when the card is correctly flush mounted in the IDE slot. Both tower computers had the mounting screw off by the same exact amount. It can bend the bracket in 5-10 sec and then it works fine.

I think the people who had problems probably didn't notice this issue and screwed in the card mount and left the card cockeyed in the IDE slot, and thus it didn't work. Anyways, XP recognized and installed the card fine. WIN ME also installed the card perfectly once I installed the drivers from the included CD. USB 2.0 now works great on both computers, very fast, and very good card. A great price deal.

This card is hit-or-miss in XP. I've reinstalled the drivers a number of times, and it's still buggy. The latest drivers from VIA don't help. It worked for a little while, then it started giving read/write errors on flash drives.

I have an older USB 2.0 PCI card with the Compaq brand on it and it works fine.

Driver troubles for windows 2000.......2006-11-10

This device would not install in Windows 2000. It does not come with a driver for windows 2000. It says that if you have service pack 4 installed it should just work. It lied.

Has some driver problems.......2007-05-13

Since installing this board, I have had a number of abends due to driver problems which appea to stem from the driver used. I don't know if it is a problem with compatibility between MS's std driver and the board or what. Driver problems are very hard to debug. When the board works, it does work well and was easily installed.

This card has 5 ports. 4 stick out the back of your card slot while the 5th is internal, so you can link it to the front of your machine for much more convenient access to use with devices you frequently rotate. It was simple to install and has fast speeds as advertised.

Missing drivers.......2003-05-29

It seems to work, but if you are using Win2000 check if you have the "nehcd.sys", "nusb2hub.sys" and the "nusbd.sys" drivers (probably in your "c:\winnt\system32\drivers\" directory). You will need them, but they do not come with the product.
