Frustrating and underpowered.......2006-11-09

I already had a collection of wireless adapters, but seeing this product and its reviews made me think I could do better so I gave it a shot (Click above to see my reviews on some of my adapters).
My first complaint is that it would not run on my laptop at all. I have XP SP2 and the setting the manual tells you to uncheck to enable the adapter is not present for some reason. The customer support section of the web site is just a copy of the manual I already had problems with.
So I tried my desktop running XP that had never been on the internet and had no updates. Instalation was no problem and it was up in minutes.
I tried connecting to various routers and even though percentage wise I seemed to have a good connection it took minutes to load google and longer for any other site.
It felt like I was using a 14.4 modem to surf the web no matter which router I used.
Appearance wise, if it matters, it's huge and clunky for a wireless adapter and hardly portable.

If you have a weak signal this is a must........2005-12-26

I had a weak signal and was looking for a solution after reading the 2 reviews here I figured this was what I needed. My signal strength used to be about 55%(with a linksys wusb11b adapter) and used to disconnect at times, after installing this adapter I get a strong signal between 60-70% and I have not been disconnected yet(cross my fingers). There are a few drawbacks that I dont mind but some people may. The adapter works best when windows wireless network configuration is disabled, and the included software is used with the hardware. This means the adapter does not connect automatically upon startup, you will have to start the software after you boot your computer. Also be aware that this is not a wireless G adapter its B. The positives outway the negetives in this case, reccomended highly.

Resolving signal strength issue.......2005-11-08

This Parkervision product provided superior signal strength reception over several of the most popular brands, (Lynksys, Dlink, Netgear). None of the other products could provide adequate signal strength. The Parkervision 1500 USB Lan Adapter provided signal reception beyond my expectations. This is a quality purchase and I will recommend it to all of my friends and associates. I would also say that this is not to take a shot at the competitors mentioned, I have faith in these products and I use them. This was a rare case where I could not receive signal in a specific area and searched for a solution and the Parkervision 1500 USB Lan Adapter DELIVERED!

Great product. Areas of the home that had no signal previously, have reliable, high-speed connection with no router change. Miles above any I've tried.
