First, it copies both sides without have to do the whole resort thing.

It is sensitive to light weight paper with the autofeeder, but hey, use the flatbed feature!

I have not used nor loaded the scanning software - so I will not comment on that. I have always been an Acrobat Pro type guy and it works without a hitch.

One of the best purchases I have done.

I ordered this scanner because we had had such good luck with another just like it that we have had for several years. This time, I did have to reinstall the software a second time when there was a problem with the scanner light seeming to stick and a ratcheting kind of sound. I believe that I chose the wrong setup information on the first pass through setup. Once that was changed, it worked like a charm. I think I heard another buyer complain about this but I think it is only an installation error and not a defect in the scanner. Several weeks later I moved the scanner to another computer and it would not power up. I swapped the power adapter with the old scanner and discovered that it the adapter was bad. I called Microtek and they were very helpful and immediately sent out a new one that arrived several days later. Bottom line....I like it a lot and it has a document feeder that beats the socks off any other in the office, especially the HP's

Not good.......2007-01-10

I am not pleased with the scanner. The software is very sensitive and I still haven't worked out all the details to function correctly. Do not buy...go spend few more dollars for somethign else.

Paper loader.......2006-08-19

If you use the paper loader to scan, you have to be quick to load the paper or it will scan the scanner, I'm not that fast.
The loader will not scan multiple images to the same file.
