I bought Visioneer Scanner five years ago in my home country (Bangladesh). I used this scanner. This scanner was very good. It's software was very nice and friendly. Now again I bought this scanner in U.S.A. It's performance is very nice and I am pleased to use this. Thank you.

Circles become ovals.......2006-10-05

Scanning a perfect circle results in ovals. Not so much so that you'd notice. But it is another reason to avoid this (or any other) dirt-cheap scanner.

Stay Away From Visioneer Scanners!.......2005-12-22

I bought three of them last year-all different models. One for home, one for the office and one for a co-worker. We have hardly ever used any of them, but now all of them suffer the same problem: "Unlock the scanner error". They are unlocked!!!

Scanner Good, Software Not Good For Me.......2005-10-26

(In my own experience with this unit).

I got this refurbished for $25 shipped. I needed a Win XP compatible scanner, which this model is.
At first when I used it with the included scanner software it seemed to work good but then I started having problems scanning and was getting a lot of error messages.

So, I uninstalled the scanner software and started scanning using the Windows XP Scanner & Camera Wizard program that comes with Win XP and it's working good again. I have less settings but at least it works and the image quality is good.

So, now that I have adapted to it, I like the scanner but the software was not something I could work with. \
The scans are very good quality and the unit scans pretty quickly [even quicker using the WinXP Camera & Scanner Wizard].

Crap, Crap, Crap!!!.......2005-10-21

There is no other way to put it. All Visioneers are garbage. Purchased my 2nd one (after first one died for no reason after a year) and have experienced many problems. Lately it won't let me scan anything because of an error saying to "unlock your scanner". There is no Freakin lock on the darn thing!!! After contacting the company many many times (btw - there customer service sucks! - No telephone number, unless u pay $2 per minute, just a computer-generated machine that unsuccessfully helps you called SARA). I finally put a claim in through the Better Busines Beaureau, there response was that they couldn't send me a new scanner cause it was after 1 year of my purchase, but they would be so kind enough as to let me purchase a new one and give me 25% off of their price (which was probably an elevated price). I told them to kiss off! Anyway - please don't buy this product or any Visioneer product - they Suck!
