This superior 36-bit flatbed scanner has two scanning beds, one for photos and one for film, and uses Microtek's own patented Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology for incredibly sharp transparency scanning. With EDIT, there is no glass between the scanning lens, film, or light source, eliminating distortion and Newton rings, which can occur with traditional transparency adapters.

The ArtixScan 2500f combines the speed of FireWire and SCSI with the flexibility of dual-media, dual-lens scanning. This high-performance scanner is versatile enough to scan full-bed reflective or transparent artwork at up to 1,250 dpi, or up to 2,500 dpi in a 4-inch-wide band running the length of both scan beds. SnapTrans film templates are included for scanning a wide variety of film, including 35mm slide, 35mm filmstrip, 4-by-5-inch, and 6-by-9-centimeter. An 8-by-10-inch glass tray is also included as a universal film holder to scan non-standard-sized film.

The comprehensive software package includes SilverFast Ai 6.0 with dust and scratch removal and Genuine Fractals Print Pro 2.5. Microtek provides a one-year limited warranty that covers parts and service.

Nothing short of a drum scanner beats it.......2003-11-14

When you are going to spend a lot of money on a large purchase like this you like to shop around and know that you are getting everything for your dollar. I found out that nothing short of a drum scanner is going to come close to the optics in this scanner. I feel like it is the Mercedes of scanners, with features like anti-vibration and other features that you don't really know exactly when they do but know that they are contributing to the operation of the scanner. Since we have received the scanner we have been very pleased. I called up technical support to get the run down on how to operate the scanner and a very nice gentlemen walked me through the operation and use of the scanner. This is very important as customer service should be of critical importance, for when you buy a product you like to know that there is someone there for you if you do need help. Overall 10/10 as we speak.
