Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

Timeless Disney Music.......2007-05-07

Nothing brings sweet recollection of Disney movies like hearing the wonderful songs. In an age where there so much music with no redeeming qualities, these Disney CDs are priceless. Wonderful for the entire family to listen to around the house or in the car while traveling. We can't help but sing along. We love that these are the original tracks from the movies! Wonderful! We now have all three volumes.

I love the songs on this volume. I'll Try by Jonatha Brooke is such an amzing somg. I especially bought this CD fort that song but, was pleasantly surprsed by the rest of the playlist.

Great Disney Music.......2006-02-21

I have bought the first 2 volumes of Disney's Greatest Hits and the 3rd volume doesn't disapoint. My 2 young children love to listen to this CD and talk about the movies that they come from. A definate must have!

Not as good as Vol 1 and Vol 2.......2005-09-11

This Disney CD represents the "leftovers" that didn't make it on Vol 1 and Vol 2 of this series. Although it has some of my favorites, I don't listen to the entire CD often. Disney could have done a better job of editing the which sound files should make the cut on this one. Still, it's nice to have all 3 CDs.

This cd is really good, i love all the songs. Ariel has always been my favourite disney classic. I only have one problem, the singers arn't the actual singers that were in the films, and thats abit of a dissapointment for me. I would recommend this cd but not to people who actually want to listen to the actual people.

What's best about Disney's animated features, is that they contain amazing orchestral scores and songs. With this CD, one can hear the nuances of the full orchestral scores of 4 of Disney's most popular features, as played and by a full symphony and chorus.

Th anthology is a great selection of the music of Capercaillie - it may be the great voice of Karen Matheson - I just cant stop listening to it!!!

A bit disappointing.......2005-12-31

I've adored Capercaillie ever since I grabbed a handful of their early works in Edingurgh more than 10 years ago. I was hoping this one compilation would be the one I took wherever I went. But it's not. I'll still be hauling around 10 CDs. (Yeah, I need an MP3 player!) A few songs are better than the originals, more are less good. One--the lovely "Oh Mo Dhutaich"--is more than a minute shorter. "Stinging Rain" is torture, with its simple beat replacing the original beautiful orchestration. About a half of the tracks are jigs and reels--great at a ceilidh to dance to, but otherwise, well...The band's virtuosity is far better displayed on their tour de force "Grandfather Mountain." Many of my favorites didn't make the cut, and I sure can't tell why some others did. Now I'm waiting anxiously for the next CD, hoping this trend won't continue.

This tape was sent to me by a good friend and I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. We play it in our house every day and my son never tires of it. The songs are lovely, melodic and child & adult friendly. Hap Palmer has a beautiful & gentle voice. My husband and I find ourselves humming these tunes as we go about our day. The songs are about real activities that kids do and they can relate to them. Get this CD/Tape. You will not be disappointed.

I recommend this CD for anyone with young children. Both of my kids love it (they are 5 and 2). In fact, my 2 year old screams from the back seat of the car, "Mommy, dan-dan on!" (Dan-dan, meaning this particular music which she also enjoys dancing too.) I first heard the music at their former babysitters house and knew I had to get it.

I cannot tell you how many times I have arrived at work still singing these songs. I enjoy it as much as the kids do. Cute lyrics and melodies about all the things that are important in a kids life. My 2 year old sings along with the rest of us. "My Mommy Comes Back" has also helped her adjust to a new day care. Don't hesitate, buy it!

Both my 1 1/2 and 4 year olds love this tape! "I can put my clothes on by myself" is an empowering favorite. When my 4 year old dresses herself, she still sings this song. "Baby's First" makes everyone laugh. The funny sounds have my 1 1/2 year old giggling with his sister in the back seat.

This CD is, along with a couple of Ho'okena CDs (namely "Na Kai 'Ewalu" and "5")is one of the all time greats, thanks in a large part to the appearance of Haunani Apolonia. Her "Na Lei Hulu Makua, Na Wahine Hawai'i" tape of 1986 is one of the alltime Hawaiian blockbusters, and it's no less than a crime that that's not available on CD (come on Prism Records, get your act in gear! tapes are also hard, if not impossible, to find!). The music, harmony, and songs on this CD are a real treasure to anyone who likes contemporary Hawaiian music.

If I could pick only one Hawaiian artist to listen to for the rest of my life, Olomana would be it! These are gentle, melodic, and sometimes haunting songs. I think of them as a lullabies for adults. Close your eyes, and you're in the Islands!

Delightful selection of memorable titles by 3 top artists from Hawaii .......2006-07-12

I share the admiration to this album! It is our prime selection for joy rides. The description of this CD says merely "various artists." In fact, only 3 artists are participating in this collection of their most popular and most memorable titles:

1) Kekuhi Kanahele from her album "Hahani Mai,"
2) Uluwehi Guerrero from his album "Ka Manawa Pono," and
3) Keali`i Reichel from his first 3 albums "Kawaipunahele", "Lei Hali`a" and "E O Mai".

Good choice! With the exception of one piece, all titles are sung in Hawaiian, what we personally value enormously. We tend to skip English sung titles while cruising along Pacific Islands. They simply do not sound proper for the surroundings...

In this context, we also hot recommend both CD's "Hahani Mai" and "Ka Manawa Pono".

Hawaiian music doesn't get any better than this. If you want a CD that reaches into the soul of the Hawaiian spirit then this is the one for you. Keali'i Reichel is truly a master at what he does. He is my favorite Hawaiian artist and with the addition of the beautiful sounds from Uluwehi Guerrero and Kekuhi Kanahele you can't go wrong. I highly reccomend any CD from these three talented performers. Mahalo nui loa for sharing with me all that is the beauty and the spirit of the Hawaiian culture and pride. This is a masterpiece as is everything you do. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I will contiue to do. Aloha!

I have been enjoying the music of Keali'i Reichel since 1996. His fabulous voice has been well recorded and his discs have good sound. I was disappointed in this compilation disc because the sound quality of the non-Reichel recordings was poor.

This album provides a wide array of celtic music, from traditional jigs to cheery drinking songs and irish tales put to music. I really liked it and I tend to be very picky about authentic Celtic music. Enjoy!
