5 out of 5 stars Anno "tookson" you are a douche bag.......2006-07-22

Anno "tookson" wtf are you talking about no where in the entire song does it say anything bad about america. all they are saying is america came up with such things as coka cola and mickey mouse. i don't know what song you are listening to but if you got anti american from it it surtainly isn't this one.

4 out of 5 stars Just fun, just remember where we all came from. .......2005-11-09

The song is great, the lyrics do poke fun, but's all in the name of entertainment. Yes My country is not perfect, but my country has done alot of good throughout the world. I guess we get the most pricks because we are the world's largest superpower in terms of political influence & economics. At the same time us as Americans should really not poke at Europe or other nations as much as in part we were formed because of Europe. Europe in essence is our mother so we should show a measure of respect, & believe me, politically we do. I've been in the military before having served in Europe & we share alot of technology w/them. We as Americans do have a bit of arrogance, but remember a bit of that arrogance was fostered from Europe when they were the top of the world. We are just new at this game. Having only been a world superpower in the middle of the 20th century. France, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Russia all had their moments in greatness. History has seen to that so that will never fade. I in part am part Dutch, Russian & Spanish. Europe has contributed very much to the world for the past few centuries, & still does to this day. There were moments when mistakes or tragedies had befallen us, but those mistakes & tragedies have helped shape us all to where we are today. We are in essence a lot of Europe & a little bit of everywhere else. When I served in the military I served alongside w/guys whose familes were from different countries, mostly w/European surnames. So for good or bad, when we look at ourselves in the mirror we see you & you see us. When I see Rammstein I just see 5 guys who happen to be German entertainers, good ones at that. They may never be a big act in America, but they are a good act. If they ever come to town, I recommend to check them out because all in all it's all just for fun. God Bless all.

1 out of 5 stars Cheeseball Anti-America Rip Off Song.......2005-07-23

This song is about how Germany, France and Russia were selling illegal arms to Saddam Hussein in violation of the UN sanctions, and meanwhile telling the USA to wait and give time for the sanctions to work.
Oh, no, I'm sorry. That's a different song.
This song is about how the "beautiful" "intelligent" members of the band Rammstein are sad because American pop culture has permeated so many other nations. They complain, "We're all living in Amerika", etc, etc.
The worst they can come up w/ is stuff like Mickey Mouse, and Coca Cola. Like that's a bad thing.
Well, if it wasn't for "Amerika", we'd literally all be speaking german right now, and "zieg-heiling" the german flag.
(Is that too political for a song review? Don't forget, a song has lyrics as well as music. If the lyrics have political content like this one, then one should be able to criticise it on that level.)
As far as the music of this song. It is easily the weakest song on the album musically. And it is unoriginal. It makes one wonder why it was released as a single. I suspect it was because of the shock value of the political content which has people talking about Rammstein.
Personally, I think this band has lost a step or two since Mutter. Hopefully their next album will be better.

3 out of 5 stars Culture Shock.......2005-07-11

I do enjoy Rammstein, there music is pure hard make your ears bleed stuff that keeps the blood pumping. I am not to concerned about there politcal views of the US if this were a rap album they would be Player hating as the US cuture is what is shaping the world today as they show quite well in there video. I live in Germany and i dont seem to see many of the youth or adult culture here complaining about the US injections in there society, nor does Rammstein as they are making millions off of the US selling albums like this. What worries me is the large amount of uneducated peaple that listen to this album in the US and believe that is how we are as a peaple and country. The truth is is the Whole world is a melting pot of enterprises and we are only singled out because we dont compomise our political, social, and yes moral views to that of what the rest of the world wants. So if you live in the US and are writing things about how this song reflect us correctly take some hystory classes, if your in Germany or Europe in general and think it reflects the US correctly take some hystory classes. In short get an edjucation before addressing topics.

As far as the music ... take it for what it is a group of Germans that spend most of there time in NYC making millions off the ignorance of the youth of the world! Good song though!

5 out of 5 stars Amerika.......2005-05-28

This song is about American culture spreading around the world. Have you seen the video? Germany as well as other countries have helped a lot in the tsunami efforts. And the government as everyone knows is corrupt. You have to admit the chorus is addicting. Don't take this song the wrong way.
