tight and f*cked up just like i like it.......2006-03-23
this album is amazing in every way. I am by no means endorsing the use of pcp but these guys did an amazing job at describing it, but thats not even the point. This is a unique masterfully crafted album. The productions are well blended between the abstract sound you would expect from def jux producers with the more traditional hip hop sounds, and the lyrics paint a vivid portrait. I almost went into a sherm trip jus listenin. "the son of a senator died today he put too much on the blunt, found him leakin on the floor with liquid in his lungs, im stuck with these lines to say why bring a son or a daughter into a planet your payin to drink the water from" thats just ill, right?
LEAK BROS TAKE DA FLOOR.......2005-03-22
I BOUGHT THIS CD ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO AND I MUST SAY THE LYRICS FROM
CAGE HAVE MATURED SINCE HIS BREAKOUT ALBUM MOVIES FOR THE BLIND.
THIS CONCEPT ALBUM TO ME GOT VERY ADDICTIVE AFTER SOME LISTENS...I MEAN A CD ABOUT PCP, AND RELATIONS TO IT...I DONT KNOW, BUT THESE DUDES TOOK THAT SUBJECT AND MADE IT NOT SO REPETITIVE. HONESTLY, THIS IS MY FIRST EC (EASTERN CONFERENCE)
CD AND THIS SOUNDS JUST AS GOOD AS ANY RELEASE ON DEF JUX NEEDLESS 2 SAY. ORIGINAL RHYMES FROM A MADMAN LIKE CAGE AND OLD SCHOOL RHYMES BY TAME ONE. CANT WAIT FOR CAGES HELLS WINTER ALBUM THOUGH.....
Awesome!!.......2005-02-04
one of the best cd's this year. the production is tight. much better than other "major" label releases.
Leak bros make a splash!!!.......2005-02-02
I have to admit that when i first heard Tame1 was linking up with Cage for a "leak bros" album my first thought was "why doesnt Tame hook up with Copywrite instead+give us a str8 forward battle album of bibilical proportions??!!" Not because of the subject matter but purely cuz i aint feeling Cage at all. But credit where its due, BOTH mc's are on fire on this project. The album is amazing, to put it mildly. The only fault with it is the fact its so short, the only weak track in my opinion is "stargate" (cage's solo joint). Apart from that its damn near perfect. The beats are all dark with thumping baselines, eerie samples+completely off the wall lyrics that never fail to grab you from start to finish. Personally im dying for part 2 already+chances are i'll still be pounding this until that appears. Dive in....the "water(world)" is just fine!!!
Not just for dust heads.......2004-10-15
When I heard that Cage and Tame One of Eastern Conference were getting together to make an album entirely about angel dust, i was a little skeptical. Despite the singular topic matter, the album is diverse; 100% cracked out rhymes by both Cage and Tame who have stepped up lyrically from their previous releases. The beats come from a variety of big underground names: Mighty Mi, J-Zone, Camu Tao, RJD2, El-P and others, each providing a different soundscape for the leak bros. demented lyrics. My favorite cut would have to be RJD2s cinematic "Gimme Some Death". The only cuts I didn't like was J-Zones as it sounded too much like one of the beats he gave Akinyele and El-Ps. The only guest is Yak Ballz on the hook of the first song. If you are a fan of the Definitive Jux or Eastern Conference rappers, or of rappers in the horrorcore genre, check out this album.

Makes OG Bobby Johnson sound like a SPAZZ!!.......2006-08-28
After the disaster that was "OG Bobby Johnson" i was abit nervous that Tame1 was bringing out a new album so soon. I was afraid he was becoming 1 of these artists that just churn out weak effort after weak effort to make the scrilla+damn the fans that buy the albums looking for quality. Im very happy(+relieved) to say this isnt the case at all with Tame. After such a long hiatus after Artifacts it was a given that he would have so much material waiting to drop. This album really is like all the other reviewers have said as far as its totally different to what you will hear anywhere else. Xing n Fox do an extraordinary job on the beats. They sound like some futuristic dance/trip hop that you would hear while youre spaced outta your head. The scary part is that they suit Tame1 down to the ground. He rides on each+every track with the vigour, hunger and most importantly the clarity that was missing from "O.G.". On tracks like "I Just Rock...", "Bounce", "Turnitout", "My Melody", "I Ain't Beat", "It's Spazmatic" and "Yes, Yes, Y'all" he sounds almost as tight as he did in the Artifacts days. Full of energy, witty wordplay, great one-liners and articulate. On tracks like "Booty Wit' Cheese", "Muzik", "Zuh-Za-Zuh" and "Acid Tab Vocab, Pt.2" he's playful with his delivery, sounding like he's having fun again in the booth and its refreshing. However there were times were the mix just didnt work for me and Tame sounded like he was too dusted to do himself or the beats justice like "Hott", "I'm Tamer Dizzle" (awful), "Jeruzalumz Finest", "Dibby Dibby" and "A-B-Ceez". Either way it was definitely a step in the right direction after "O.G." so i was very satisfied. Well worth copping.
beat drivin'.......2006-05-12
Tame's music is all about the beat. It's what got me right from the start, a grinding, repetitious backbone to every song. Tame One rides every beat on these tracks without faltering and shows some true style in his delivery. Tame gets rid of the verse-hook standarda, periodically ad-libing and allows the music to play when he feels like pausing. Its an amazing album well worth purchasing.
Pure hotness.......2006-04-09
Former Artifact Tame-One kills it over Xing n Fox's future beats from the distant past. Those drums...those drums!! It's a heavyweight to be sure. Da Muzik seems like the only danceable track, but the head nods on the rest will break your neck. Xing n Fox bring a very unique sound. Those of you who were paying attention will know that Tame teamed up with them on Crazee in 2000. This is a continuation of that drugged-out heavy pulsing tune. The beats will almost drive you crazy, but keep listening deeper. There's sooo much happening in there. Cop the album. Do it.
Spazmatic.......2006-04-06
This album is a hell of a lot better than O.G. Bobby Johnson, it's similar in that it's somewhat experimental as far as the beats, but unlike his last solo album he rips every verse he spits on this one. My favorite tracks are "My Melody", "Da Muzik" and "Zuh Za Zuh". There isn't much filler here and the production is tight and original, I'd recomend this to anybody into underground hip hop.
About as crazy as a crack baby with rabies!.......2006-03-28
All I can say is that this album is DUSTED!!!!!!! Seems like Tame One locked himself in the studio for a month, did mad dust and put togther an album that is hot to death. Go cop it now. Hottest thing to drop in a long time. It's on a whole other level. The beats, rhymes and production are on some crazy wavelenth that you can't understand, unless you're on some serious drugs. Track 5 and 8 are by far the best. Why haven't you bought this yet? stop reading and buy it now. Seriously! The album is much more interesting than this review. So click add to cart and stop paying attention to what I'm writing. Go! You don't listen do you? Whatever, you're screwing yourself over every minute that you wait. Must have album. Get it now!!!!! And I'm out. More drugs in me than the 80s.

A refreshing musical experience.......2005-12-23
Adrina writes, sings, and plays melodic meaningful songs. She plays a grand piano sounding keyboard with appropriate backup. Each song has a little different feel to it, but all are refreshing. I listen to them almost every day. You are in for a real uplifting musical experience. I'm an old fan, 71 years old, but no matter whether you're young or old you will love this album.
A Must Have to Your Music Collection!!!.......2005-12-23
There are many ways that love rises to the surface in our lives. It can come disguised as questions and as answers, as both comfort and discomfort--- often simultaneously. The essential elements that fill in the spaces between the beats of the heart are not only in dreams and fairytales, but in real life in all of its messy, yet perfect glory. Adrina Thorpe captures this beauty, beautifully.
The album "Elusive" is a very impressive first effort. Adrina's pristine vocals and intricate piano work yield numerous memorable tracks, including the opening "Fly Fly Fly" and the popular "Round the Bend". Her youthful romanticism is perhaps captured best in "Did You Think", a catchy tune that is embellished with soothing vocals and sparkling keyboards. This album is a must have to anyone's collection. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Amazing and inspirational.......2005-12-23
I just recieved Adrina's Elusive cd this morning and have not yet stopped listening to it. I first heard of Adrina through myspace.com and became a fan automatically. The lyrics are heartfelt and deep with so much emotion you can feel it. I will always be a fan of her art of music. Absolutely amazing!!! It makes you feel alive and at ease.
Such a fantastic breath of fresh air. A must have........2005-12-23
I received the "Elusive" album about 2 weeks ago and it is absolutely excellent. I have been recommending her to friends and as well, I'd recommend this to music lovers in general. In this day and age of formulaic corporate insultingly dull music, it is so refreshing to find an artist such as Adrina Thorpe that re-affirms that there is still intelligent and creative life out there. My favorite tracks right now are "More than Seventeen", "Sorry", and "Never Meant". Do yourself and the music world a favor and support this bright new artist and spread the word about Adrina Thorpe!
Elusive for Words.......2005-12-23
Adrina Thorpe's Myspace link was sent to me by a dear friend. After hearing the few songs, I found myself playing them over and over. I just picked up the album Elusive and I am SOLD. I am really looking for the next album. Not only did I get it at the perfect time dealing with issues in life. It has been in the CD player non stop.
Keep it darling and You will always have a fan in me!

Customer Reviews:
Alright, I'll admit this isn't my review.......2007-02-10
... it was written in the Chicago Reader in 1978, when this album was released--but 29 years later it still resonates as the funniest review ever:
"The Boyzz, 'Too Wild to Tame'
'Too Dumb to Train' is more like it. Boogie 'till you puke, fellas."
One of the best bands I have ever witnessed.......2007-02-09
The Boyzz from Illinoizz, one of the best Rock N Roll bands ever created. Its just too bad they broke up too soon, or they would have been one of the most successful bands in music history.
This being their only album before they broke up, recorded in Miami in the Spring of 1978 still draws a huge loyal following. A reunion took place in the 1990's, but due to band differences, it did not last long.
But this album is a must have. Destined to Die is my very favorite song on the whole album ,and if you witnessed a live show of the Boyzz opening of with this song, you will never forget it.
The guitar player Mike Tafoya is still recording music, and has a new project called The Lost Boyzz. They are a world class band, and their debut album will be released in the spring of 2007, followed up by a U.S. tour.
For more info and show dates on Tafoya's Lost Boyzz, go to (......)
And it get's better!.......2006-11-07
Excellent album (I still have mine) These guys were one of the best live shows I have ever seen. If you don't believe me, do a search on Gadget Productions or Tafoyas Lost Boyzz and see for yourself. This will get you in touch with one of the guitar players and for $35 he will hook you up with a burn of "Too Wild to Tame" and a DVD of the live show and CD's of bands with former members of The Boyzz. As a matter of fact, he is about to release a new CD anytime. Check it out.... huskert
The BOYZZ from Illinoisz ROCK.......2004-04-17
Headed by Dirty Dan Buck, the BOYZZ album is typical 70's midwest rock-n-roll. Their live act was unbelievable. Any fan of Midwest bands such as "The Godz" will love the BOYZZ. Dirty Dan still plays with a his FRIENDZ (OTHER LOCAL MUSICIANS THAT HAVE BEEN BOYZZ FANS FOREVER), and recently backed up CHEAP TRICK! The album is great, the live show is even better. ROCK ON!
One of the BEST............2003-04-19
One of the BEST hard core ... biker-band rock & roll albums ever made. Dirty Dan's gritty vocals made Meatloaf's jaw hit the floor on an In Concert on TV back in the 70's. All songs are well crafted, musically superior to what you might expect from a biker band. These guys are the embodiment of hard core rock & roll. A must have for the die-hard rock & roll fanatics!
Best songs: Lean-n-Mean, Wake it Up Shake it Up, Too Wild To Tame, Destined To Die..... ... they're ALL good!!! Too bad there are no samples to listen to. ...

I bought this for my grandbabies, ages one and three "to stimulate their brains" This CD set is far, far better the ones touted to do this. I love it, the babies love it, my daughter-in-law loves it! Very rhythmic, lots of fun, top-notch quality.

Customer Reviews:
Even More Stars Than Mentioned Before !.......2006-10-19
I totally concur with the previous reviewer. However, it must be mentioned that the best songs on this CD are by diegard vegetarians and animal welfare activists, namely, Chrissie Hynde and Howard Jones. The B'52's and KD Lang also make solid musical contributions. PETA makes some mistakes but their work on behalf of animals is tireless and invaluable. Jeff Beck's stunning guitar song "Skin Thieves" was wrongfully not included on this CD. I don't know why. It is sheer guitar virtuosity and Jeff Beck is a big time animal welfare advocate and vegetarian.
Awesome Music and a Noble Cause Too!.......2005-11-29
Tame Yourself was an album of donated songs produced to benefit People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The artists on this album are all big supporters of animal rights and are an amalgamation of very talented performers. Whether or not you support PETA, this album is definitely worth your time. On a personal note, while I don't support all of PETA's efforts I think that this album really does do an awesome job of putting information out there for those who don't know what animal rights is all about.
On this album you're going to find songs that you'll not find anywhere else (I'm noting but a few):
Don't Kill the Animals - Nina Hagen and Lene Lovich - these two women deliver a song that is infectiously danceable, yet puts forth a very strong message.
Across the Way - Aleka's Attic - If you're a River Phoenix fan, this album is a must for you. Only a handful of his rock group's songs were ever produced and printed - this is one of them. It is a very lyrical and ethereal piece that makes one wonder what his group could have been had he not died.
Fur - Jane Wiedlin (formerly of the Go Go's) - this is a very peppy and danceable song, but it gets across a strong anti-fur message (I'm a big anti-fur advocate: it's no longer necessary!).
Rage - Lene Lovich and Erasure - Take a 90's dance hit maker and mix in an 80's Euro dance rocker and you've got a really cool song.
Those are but a few of my favorites, but there really isn't a single song on this album that I don't like.
Look, you may not agree with the politics of the album, but you would probably like the music. If you don't know anything about the animal rights movement - this is a pretty darned good place to start and get some enjoyment out of learning about it.
Please, check this album out!

Album Description
In the realm of underground music, there is "fierce," and then there is "ferocious." Anyone who has witnessed the powerhouse presence of club diva Inda Matrix and trembled before her daunting presence knows that she falls into the latter category. Brash, bold and larger-than-life, Matrix has developed a reputation over time as one of contemporary house music's most intimidating songstresses, and her powerful belt, broad vocal range and penchant for over-the-top stage shows have left many a dance floor trembling in awe. "Love Dominates (No Man Can Tame Me)," written and produced by studio duo Dynamix, injects a slamming dose of S&M-edged production onto dance floors worldwide. This take-no-nonsense track made Matrix a staple in the United States gay leather scene and equally impacted European audiences after being licensed by superstar U.K. DJ Steve Lawler for his Harlem Records imprint. Matrix's follow-up single, the searing "Bodyfly," licensed for release by underground Bush Records in the UK once again features the bangin' robust production of Dynamix, matched with uplifting lyrics and Matrix's soaring vocals. With it, Matrix continues her mission of dance-floor domination: bigger, bolderand more ferocious than ever.

Vocal Diva at her BEST.......2005-02-12
This is a great single. I fell in love with No Man Can Tame Me back when I saw a performer sing to this a couple of years ago. I never did know who sang it until I went to a club not too long ago. They told me who sang it and long behold one week later it was released. Along with another Superb song, "Bodyfly". Even though these 2 songs were released a couple of years ago, they will still make you want to dance & sing along. "No Man Can Tame Me" is so powerful, & fun and just a great house song!! Go get this, you won't be disapointed!

3.5 from 1/2 of the Artifacts.......2006-05-19
Tame One finally hits us off with an LP and was it worth the wait? Kind of. This was a preety dope LP featuring production from RJD2, J-Zone, Mighty Mi and Camu-Tao and Tame came off HARD. This album hit much harder than El da Sensei's "Relax, Relate, Release," but honestly I liked El's LP better. (that's just my opinion)
When I first put the CD in the deck I couldn't tell it was Tame One at first. His voice got grimey and it'd been so long since he released anything that I almost couldn't tell it was him. After a few cuts into the LP you realize it's Tame, just a little older, but hungrier than ever. Battle rhymes and beat downs are delivered throughout this LP leaving "weak emcees" in the dust.
This album was preety solid, but I had higher expectations due to El's album and because of how long it took Tame to release this. All in all it was worth the cash I gave Sandbox.
NOT BAD BUT NOT GREAT.......2004-06-30
I picked this album up the day it dropped because I've been a huge Artifacts fan since I first heard Wrong Side of The Tracks. I've had this album for over a year and still keep it on heavy rotation, but this joint definitley lacks the intensity from Thats them. Too bad there's no chance of an Artifacts reunion, I don't think there's any beef between Tame and El, but I've read interviews from both stating the chances of them getting together are slim and none, anyway, if you're into good battle type rhymes pick this up, Tame is rarely off point and he has some good beats here, unfortunately for some of us we've heard a few of these joints on compilations already and the album is pretty short, other than that its a good buy. Oh yeah, look out for Leak Brothers which is Tame and Cage doing an entire album dedicated to PCP, kinda messed up but should be phenominal. Also Artifacts fans who haven't heard El Da Sensei's solo album pick that up for sure, in my opinion it's way better than this one.
Sick Album Straight Through.......2004-04-05
Tame One isn't my favorite rapper from EC. I enjoyed his track from Vol. 3, but they didn't blow me away. I bought this album based on the strength of the label and good reviews from other sites. The first thing I noticed was that this album was 12 tracks and 40 min., which bothered me at first, but now I realize it's perfect. It's ear candy, with sick rhymes and beats straight through. It's just long enough to leave you perfectly satisfied.
Tame One is mostly a battle rapper, not much to explain there. He has nice metaphors and a good mic presence. I think Redman is his cousin, so it's not surprising that he sounds goofy and slightly psychotic. All the battle tracks are good, but "Concerto" stuck out the most to me because of it's rhymes about super powers and Pokemon. "Leak Smoke," with Cage, is about drugs, except EC rappers aren't content with weed. They use anything that will get them high, with bonus points if it makes you hallucinate. "Dreamz" is OK, but he didn't do it right. He had a good first verse about his dream about success, and there's a nice hook, but the rest is just battle rhymes. The beat demands more. "Moment I Feared" is a funny story-telling track. Basically, he gets laid and kills this chick's boyfriend and gets rich, but then he gets caught and goes to prison. He overpronounces the song, kind of like an old school rapper, which makes it more entertaining. I think it's a Biz Markie remake or something. "Iz It Me" is a diss to mainstream rappers. It's alright, although I don't know why so many underground rappers make these. "Homage 2 da Bomberz" is about graffiti art. Tame's rhymes are hard all the way through.
The beats are just as hard, produced by the illest cats in the game: Mighty Mi, Camu Tao, RjD2, J. Dangerous, Reef, DJ Porno, and above all, J-Zone. Rj is better for more serious lyrics, but as far as battle beats nobody is touching J-Zone. He contributes 3 tracks. The guitar samples of "Heat," the pounding drums and blasting horns of "Tame Az it Ever Was," and the bass and thin Asian strings of "Slick Talkin'" are all flawless. Camu and Mighty Mi both make hard, somewhat psycho beats (maybe from working with Cage). "Leak Smoke," especially, sounds like a house of horrors. RjD2's track "Up 2 No Good Again" has his usual soulful, electronic sound, quality as usual. The two J. Dangerous tracks were fairly diverse. "Concerto" had mellow piano, while "Iz It Me" had a more serious sound. DJ Porno's offering was staccato and noisy and what I would have to call "click-clacky." The Reef track, "Dreamz," was quality. It had a hopeful, thoughtful sound, and it was wasted on Tame. He just couldn't match the beat. He fools you because the first verse and the hook were both nice, but the second half was just battle rhymes that didn't match at all. What a shame.
But aside from this minor flaw, this is a great album. I usually like CDs to be more like 70 min., but I don't always have a big block of time for CDs. Sometimes I don't want to sit there and concentrate. I just want to listen to crazy rhymes and sick beats for half an hour. This album provides just that, with no time for mistakes. Tame doesn't stand out like some EC rappers do, but don't sleep on this album. It's a worthy purchase.
Slight disappointment.......2004-02-28
Tame 1 should have been matched with beats that better meshed with his style, as the J-Zone selections crash on impact, and "when rappers attack" seems to redundant for anyone to want to rhyme to. Tame 1 is a dope rapper indeed, and none of the beats "suck" per se, but it just isn't notable or outstanding in any way, not fitting for tame's professional delivery.
tame one............iller than most!!!!!.......2003-10-30
From start to finish this album's a winner. Although the album is really short, its not short on quality. The beats are hard, heavy bassed and innovative. The lyrics are original, funny, and hard-hitting at times. There's no questioning this cats skillz, as any real hiphop fan knows from his time as a member of the ground breaking group the ARTIFACTS. The one and only reason this album doesnt get the 5 stars is because like others, after waiting patiently for years i heard 3 joints from the album on seperate projects. So here's a rough guide of this album. WHEN RAPPERS ATTACK" -produced by camu-tao. Mid tempo track with a killer bassline which TAME really spits fire to. HEAT" -produced by j-zone. Again a mid tempo beat with an infectious groove to it. ACT RIGHT" -produced by camu-tao. A slower beat than the previous 2 but still TAME comes with a hunger+passion rarely seen or heard with an established artist. Top notch. TAME AZ IT EVER WUZ" -produced by j-zone. One of the best tracks on the album, but because i had heard this b4 the album came out it had'nt the same effect. Awesome none-the-less. SLICK TALKIN" -produced by j-zone. Oriental arrangement blessed with a fantastic simple beat. Mainly in freestyle form, just a verse. Brilliant punchlines+metaphors everywhere on this. UP 2 NO GOOD AGAIN" -produced by rjd2. The best beat+track on the album in my opinion. Battle lyrics with an original funky and fresh beat to it. LEAK SMOKE" -produced by mighty mi. The only track with a guest on it. Cage and tame do a great job interchanging on another solid mi beat. DREAMZ" -produced by reef. Up tempo story telling joint. Again it was a joint i'd previously heard. Excellent regardless. CONCERTO" -produced by newcomer j.dangerous. Similar to slick talkin' in the sense that its only a verse over a fresh beat so the tracks under 2mins. Really innovative+clever lyrics that you just have to hear for yourself. MOMENT I FEARED" -produced by mighty mi. Again another joint i'd heard but still very effective. Another story telling type joint starting with tame in a club reflecting on how N.Y. has changed in his mind and ends with him in jail. Funny and intelligent. IZ IT ME?" -produced by j.dangerous. Brilliant joint, highlighting on how 99% of the industry are just following trends and not coming original. Most opinionated+honest track on the album. Short but with a great message. HOMAGE 2 DA BOMBERZ" -produced by another newcomer dj porno. Returning to where he left off at with the ARTIFACTS, by going back to his roots as a graf artist 1st and foremost as well as a raw m.c. So you got 12 tracks of fresh real hiphop. It makes a nice change from most of whats coming out lately. (...)!!
