What Is Neo Soul? {5 Stars}.......2007-04-06

I agree with Mistermaxx, this is simply good music. Neo Soul is nothing more than a label used by companies to get the "bohemian dollar", if you will. This is good soul music. Nothing more, nothing less. There's not a whole lot to be said about the album due to it's short running time -- 6 tracks at around 38 minutes. The sound quality is good, the background singers are on point, and D'Angelo knocks this one out of the park. He even tackles an Earth Wind & Fire classic with relative ease. Whether you are a D'Angelo fan or you just dig good r&b, you should get your hands on this.

Ignore the stooge that is trying to sell this for $100 though...it's not THAT good. I'd probably pay $20 - $30 for this, max.

For fans of D'Angelo and fans of soul music, this disc is essential.

D'Angelo is in perfect form here, and each song is a gem. The band is top-notch and the recording is excellent.

One of the best live albums you'll find.......2001-10-24

This really does highlight how talented this artist is. Listening to the material live brings out a depth to it that you don't really get from the slickly produced studio versions. Plus there's a great, and surprisingly faithful, version of an Earth Wind & Fire tune, which i love.

The Music sounds Better Live.he was Hungry during the Brown Sugar Era unlike now.this Disc Capture good Solid Performances.I Give Him Props on Doing EWF AlRight.that's My Group so you have to come correct&He did alright.I Don't buy into the Media's Neo&all of that Labeling.Good Music has No Labels.this is a Good Disc Period.

Just want to say a few things about D'angelo. First of all I think he is a one of a kind artist. And when I say artist I mean he brings the true meaning of the very word. He is a performer like no other. He writes, he hermonizes like it should be done, he is very creative, unique he sings to his max. When he gives a concert he gives his all. So if your a D'angelo fan and he gives a concert do not pass it up. No matter the cost he will give you your money' worth.

GREAT CD.......2003-07-21

This album has a very different sound. I LOVE IT!!

Many songs have a decidely African influence but there is the strong Neapolitan sound that is Nino's trademark. My comprehension of this dialect is very limited but that does not detract from its enjoyment. The CD has booklet with the words in both Neapolitan and in Italian. But you don't need to understand either; the music stands on its own.

This collection is one of my favorites and I think it is the best that Nino has done. Nino's delivery and the music are awesome.

Jesce Sole and Nun Me Scurda'Maie are both so different and both so incredible. All the tracks are.

Wonderful!.......2002-03-11

This CD is Nino D'Angelo's best work so far. It's a complete change of direction, there are many influences that make "Terranera" a kaleidoscope of different kind of music. Now he's becoming the "Peter Gabriel of Italy", it's pure world music (you can notice Arabian and Latin influences first of all). It's a refined collection of 12 new songs that grow on you during each listening, the lyrics are brilliant and I can say that there isn't a single bad track.
My favourite songs are "Jesce Sole" and "Ammore mio impossibile".
