If there is a mission (consciously or not) Eric Neher seems to have it's to cut through the wishy-washy uncertainties of life and get to the heart of the matter. A listen to his first full length release "Shame Train" tells the tale. "Most of my songs are written in a double-negative way," he explains, "I like to go through the negative to arrive at the positive." "It may take more than one look to see it but I am an optimist."
As a songwriter, he draws inspiration from such longtime favorites as Hank Williams, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed while at the same time embracing contemporary influences. His Songs convey personal and common thoughts: love, isolation, realization, pain, growth.
His vocals are singular and thoughtful, his guitar, unique and fluid and his lyrics introspective.
