clara crocodilo is a unique work, that makes a great step in the history of experimental music. along with that, is remarkable the way in wich the brazilian blood expresses through this absolutely conceptual way of making music. if you liked it, I recomend "fulano", "magma", "henry cow", "mutantes", "gong", and other works from arrigo, as "gigante negao" my e-mail: verarc@hotmail.com

This work began to be composed in the 70's, trying to approximate classical contemporary music, popular music, and texts, from comic books to radiophonics emissions. I first recorded this material in 1980, in a more primitive way, when I was beggining my career. So I have never been really satisfied with the results. I always planed to make a new recording of it. So,we recorded it alive at SESC IPIRANGA's theater in february (26,27 and 28) 1999. I would like to call your atention for: track 1 - "Aventuras em um Drive In" (Drive In Adventures)-Aside excellent vocals, remarcable performing of quartet with Mário Campos (eletr. bass) Azael Rodrigues (drums ) Luís Waack ( eletr. guitar and Paulo Braga ( acoustic piano). Also excellent sax solo by Ubaldo Versolato. track 2 - " A procura do orgasmo total" ( Looking for total orgasm)- beautiful Cello by Raiff Dantas Barreto. Track 3- "Num antro sujo" (In a dirty cave)- I would like to quote aside with Ana Amélia's vocal performance, the string quartet in middle section, with Maria Vischnia and Betina Stegamann ( violins ) Marcelo Jaffé ( viola) and Raiff Dantas Barreto ( cello).Also impulsive trombone by Roney Stella. track 4- "No cemitério" (In cemetery)- Amazing vocal interpretation by Ana Amélia.Also drums(Azael Rodrigues) and acoustic piano ( Paulo Braga) duo improvisation. track 5 - Meninas Diferentes "( Different Girls) I like very much the beginning of this track, with French Horn by Luís Garcia, trombone by Roney Stella, Trumpet by Fernando Dissenha and sax by Ubaldo Versolato.Also deserves attention Carlos Tarcha's tímpano solo, precious Paulo Braga's piano solo, and the superb vocal interpretation by Ana Amélia, with aditional vocals by Tuca Fernandes and Miriam Maria. track 6 - "As desventuras de um office-boy" (The misadventures of an office-boy)- Attention for the French Horn introduction by Luís Garcia and the picolo trumpet and trumpet by Fernando Dissenha. Amazing baritone sax by Ubaldo Versolato.Also superb vocals by Ana Amélia, Tuca Fernandes and Miriam Maria. I like very much the rythmical atmosphere in the 3/8 part with the acoustic piano solo. track 7 - "O monstro" (The monster)- I think that the percussion climates here are wonderfuls, specially the"reco-reco" by Paulo Barnabé and tímpanos and cymbals by Carlos Tarcha. track 8- " Quem cala consente" (Who silences, permits ) - Very difficult to play, deserves attention. I quote the performing of Marcelo Jaffe (viola) with Ana Amélia,and the final secction, with great rythmical interest. track 9- "Labirinto" (Labyrinth)- Interesting game. track 10-"Onde andará Clara Crocodilo?" ( Where it will be Clara Crocodile?)- Again vocals superb, and rock atmosphere.I have to say that I'm satisfied with the results, and remind that is a dolby surround CD. Arrigo Barnabé.

Renovação da música popular.......2000-01-12

Com este trabalho o Arrigo conseguiu atingir as pessoas com uma nova linguagem musical que enriqueceu muito o panorama naquele momento. Infelizmente não teve continuidade na produção... Mas vale a pena ter este registro.
