Mina is one amazing vocalist, song-stylist, artist. To think that she has been making excellent records since the late 50's, and still sounds as if she is in her peak. Reputedly, Sinatra wanted to bring her on tour with him, but she wouldn't agree to travel. Her closest American counterpart is Steisand, but I find Mina more enjoyable to listen to, and she has a more contemporary musical sensibility. If you have been waiting for an album reminiscent of her best 70's work [and that oeuvre was remarkable, overall], this is the one to get. In fact, this may exceed that work, as it is totally satisfying from beginning to end. There are 2 songs sung in Neapolitan, which are beautiful. All the tunes are solid pop, well-crafted and orchestrated, and brilliantly performed. Plus, the cd package is beautiful. Enjoy!

For more than 40 years, Mina has been a driving force in Italian pop music. During the late Fifites and Sixties she was as revered in Italy (and deservedly so) as Elvis or Sinatra in the U.S. Unfortunately, during the Seventies and Eighties she stumbled; a succession of tepid and wrongheaded albums tarnished her reputation (as also occurred with her closest U.S. analogue, Barbra Streisand). But since then she's come back full force; her albums since 1994's MAZZINI CANTA BATTISTI have been triumphs, and this one may be the best of the lot. Seriously, if you have any kind of interest in the art of the popular song, BUY THIS CD.

I don't even speak italian and have enjoyed this CD tremendously. Congratulations to the Mina team. This album is just superb. BUY IT, LISTEN, & FLY!
