Each of tracks has some distinct identity and changes in arrangement, but the overall effect is very cohesive and relaxing. (However, I do wish the keyboard player had been a bit more restrained on one or two of them.) A couple of times I've forgotten that I had this disk in my CD changer, and once I'd noticed that it had come on my first thought was "wow, that's nice, what is that?" -- a compliment for any CD.
In a refreshing change from many of today's female Brazilian singers, Dulce Quintal is not some famous singer's kid, nor is she a Gal Costa- or Daniela Mercury-sound-alike. I found out about her only quite recently, thanks to a very perceptive record shop owner who had figured out my taste. But apparently she was a well-known singer in the 1980s, in a group called Sempre Livre. This was her first album in 16 years.
