Aptly titled "all gas. no brake," Stellar Kart's energetic debut release is a rollicking ride around the musical track. Stylistically drawing comparisons to Green Day, Blink 182, and early Audio Adrenaline (a self-confessed influence), these four lads from Phoenix know how to rev-up the motor with an infectious brand of punk-pop. It's clear that fuel that drives their engines is one of divine origin as evidenced from the opening chunky power chords of "Student Driver" to the acoustic-flavored sweet harmony of the closing "Finish Last." Jordan Messer (drums) and Tay Sitera (bass) lay down a skin-tight rhythm throughout, allowing the staccato guitar bursts of lead vocalist Adam Agee and Cody Pellerin to ride on top. Another testament to the band's ability is that "all gas.no brake."--their first--ever major label release--was self produced with a quality as high as Christian's music best. Other highlights include the simple-yet-beautiful worship song "A Love Song" and the delightful cover of Bon Jovi's 80's classic "Livin' On A Prayer." So buckle your seat belts, hop in the 'Kart, and enjoy the ride. You won't be sorry. --Michael Lyttle

Stellar Debut Album.......2006-12-13
This punk/pop quartet from Phoenix storms onto the scene with their powerful debut, All Gas No Brakes. From the opening riffs of "Student Driver" you know you're in for a power-packed ride through 10 SK originals, plus a uniquely Kart cover of Bon Jovi's classic "Livin' On A Prayer." The album's chart hits are of course top-notch, hook-laden tunes you'll find yourself singing at work and in the car: "Life Is Good", "Finish Last", and "Student Driver." The boys' punk influences grab you by the throat and set your fist defiantly in the air on "Spending Time", "Gone Fishin'", and "Second Chances." The inspirational "Superstar" is a strong statement against teen suicide, while "Come Back Home" drips with the deep emotions of a long-distance romance. The infamously short, 29-second "Tree Climber" will take it's place in your "weird but soooo cool" file. I saw the boys from Stellar Kart in concert in September '06 at HersheyPark, PA, and they rocked the house!! It was the highest energy set I've perhaps ever seen -- just fabulous! Go see them if you can, at the very least purchase this stellar debut album.
Relentless, but lacking somewhat.......2006-08-23
I give stellar kart major props for sticking to their style from start to finish on All Gas. No Break. Never once did I feel like one song here didn't fit with their whole pop-punk/emo style. With that said, though, alot of the material here sounds underproduced. "Student Driver" could have had a better chorus, "Livin' on a prayer" isn't really needed, "Love song" is bad lyrically, "Tree climber" is too short and "gone fishin" has no chorus and ends abruptly.
If you like (old) TSL or Relient K, you'll like Stellar Kart.
Good stuff........2006-08-15
Well I just wrote a review slamming their second album, so I thought I'd weigh in on this one. I really like this album, though its lifespan is not going to be more then a few years. It's good though, and it's energetic, and it's heartfelt. Personally, I can really feel the emotion of the songs, especially when I'm drumming to them. I play bass and drums, and really dig their drummer. I mean he's not revolutionary but he's really tight and holds things together really well, especially with some longer fills, which he nails. I like"Spending Time" the best. Also, the song style/arrangement/structure varies more on this album then their second.
I listen to MxPx, Relient K, even some Underoath and Avenged Sevenfold, and I like these guys and recommend you buy this album. As for their second...eh go read my review
Somewhere between pretty good and I'm glad I got it half-price.......2006-06-29
The originality here is all brake, no gas, but with that said, it's a fun jamming pop/punk album that doesn't let up from start to finish. Comparable to the older "Relient K" sound. Good for when you just need to rock a little. Good solid sound and good cd production. I appreciate the clean lyrics and will enjoy hanging on to this one. I'll probably look into buying their follow-up after this purchase.
Great Band.......2006-01-21
I noticed that a lot of people say that MxPx and The Supertones are a lot better than my favorite bands. I also noticed that everybody says that my favorite bands are overdone. I agree that the style is used a lot, but the point is not the style. It's the words and the way the music gets into your soul. The think I like about listening to a CD, is that I feel like I know the singer after I listen to it.
This is a great CD, and I think that you'd like it if you like other bands like them. Such as Reliant K, Hawk Nelson, Sanctus Real, and a lot of Kutless fans also like them.

High quality music.......2007-05-18
Stellar Kart has produced yet another good cd.
This is a great cd to add to the casual music lovers collection.
It has some very catchy tunes and it has good lyrics with a postive message.
If you listen to it to much it will wear itself out though.
Activate, Me and Jesus, Always Waiting, and I Wanna Live are my favorite tracks.
Buy this cd-it has been a great addition to my collection.
Stellar Kart surprised me! by BJ.......2007-03-30
I was VERY surprised when I first heard this album. When I bought it, at first I had thought I had wasted my money on something that wasn't any good. Usually I don't buy a CD until I've heard more than two songs off the CD ("Me And Jesus" and "Hold On", both of which I first heard on the radio), but I bought it, anyway. And today, I HAVE NO REGRETS AT ALL! Every song is catchy, especially the songs mentioned above. This has turned out to be one of the best groups I have, along with Avalon. LOVED IT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!:)
Big Blast of Positive Energy.......2007-03-09
Five stars, yes, and nothing totally mind-blowing or exceptional on the disc. Seriously, this is just a good listen from start to finish, with no dull moments and plenty of tunes that get into your head and hum along with them. It rocks at times, goes to some ballads, then rocks out some more, with a real pop-punk vibe, although more pop than punk, still rocks harder than groups like Relient K and Motion City Soundtrack. Slightly similar to EleventySeven's CD. There are a lot of songs on this CD, which makes it a better purchase than "All Gas No Brake" due to the amount of music you get for your money. There is never a dull moment, and these guys don't re-invent the wheel or anything but heck, with energy like this, they have done just fine. REAL POSITIVE MUSIC, great message. Imagine a poppy version of Allister's "Last Stop Suburbia" and that's what you have here.
I love it!.......2007-03-09
Stellar Kart is a great band. Their style is awesome. The band members themselves are funny and personable. Their music is great, and I love how they wear their faith. I'm so disappointed with many bands such as Relient K and Hawk Nelson, although they're very similar, they do not praise our creator! I even heard somewhere that one of them said that using God's name is tacky! I'm always proud to support a band that boldly expresses their faith. Unfortunately, Hawk Nelson is one of those bands that you have to sift through all the other stuff to find God, and Relient K is a "crossover" band. Stellar Kart keeps their music directed towards God, in their own funky and fun style.
My favorites on this CD are Activate, Me and Jesus, I'm Pretty Good, and Procrastinating. I love this CD, and I know you will too.
Good Music, Positive Message.......2007-01-06
This is a good album with a couple of very good songs.
Stellar Kart has a sound that appeals to teenagers. They have a positive message. They are a Christian band and their lyrics reflect it. They are not afraid to use the name 'Jesus' in their music as so many others are. Their sound is pretty light, but very pleasant. The song 'Me And Jesus' is a standout here.
If you want a good album to get a teenager and you don't want to have to worry about awful lyrics, this would be a good choice.

Start 'em out young and loud.......2007-02-04
I bought this for my 9 year old so he would quit stealing my Anthology. Now both of them are in his bedroom.
If you thought Blitzkrieg Bop was infectious before, wait until you hear it sung by a chorus of very happy grade-schoolers.
Quit Yer Ramoning.......2006-12-11
Disclaimer: Ok Admittedly I was a part of this album (Hand Claps, A&R, consulting).
I think this is a well thought out concept and delivery. A perfect tribute with great performances with enough candy coating to make it that much more kid friendly for the younger set. Not vile like Kidz Bop. A great cast of singers makes this album more than interesting for all generations of old and future Ramones fans. It's got a great beat and I can bug out to it.

This Album is Incredible!.......2007-04-27
Yes, I stumbled upon this CD because of a link at Tool. But so what. God I love this album and I'm so glad I found it. Only wish they were still putting out more of these. This album is pure testosterone and I can't get enough of it! I'm going to be playing the hell out of this CD!!
Mike Savage's voice is so deep, throaty and hot. This CD and Clutch CD's are some of my new favorites! You will not be disappointed in this one!

I think TOOL is the best band ever and when I went to there site I saw PLC. these guys don't sound a thing like Tool (exept for the drumming) but it still is very good

P.S. Just because Daney Carey is in this band it doesn't mean all Tool fans will like it. This is much more drastic difference than Tool to APC. Proceed with caution!!!

Twisted, funny, heavy, dark and inspired........2005-10-12
Pigmy Love Circus is easily one of the best bands that more than likely most people have never heard of.
PYC (as I'll refer to them from here on out) have actually been around since 1987. Based out of Southern California, they became something of a cult favorite on the live circuit due to some infamous out-of-control performances in addition to some very twisted (and funny songs).
In 1992, they replaced drummers with a certain Danny Carie (though he goes by Dan on this PYC CD) . Most people probably know him from his drum duties in a little band called Tool. He played with PYC for a little while but Tool ended up getting signed and pretty much exploding popularity wise so Danny's tenure in the band was cut short. PYC ended up disbanding in 1995 after slogging it out in bars and clubs for about 8 years straight.
But in 1999, Danny Carey ended up getting PYC to re-form and they started touring again opening up for the likes of bands like A Perfect Circle (fronted by Tool's singer Maynard). In 2003, they would record a batch of songs that would end up getting released in 2004 as the CD entitled curiously enough The Power of Beef.
The lineup on the album consists of:
Michael Savage---------vocals
Peter Fletcher---------guitars
E. Shepherd Stevenson--bass
Dan Carey--------------drums, saxophone
The first 3 members are all original members who have been with PYC since the beginning.
The track listing on the CD is as follows (with the CD being a little over 42 minutes in length):
1) Livin' Like Sh*t
2) Drug Run to Fontana
3) Swamp Creature
4) Bone Orchard
5) Pistolero Sleep
6) Bad Luck
7) Murderer
8) Highway Man
9) Headless Horseman
10)12 Gauge Kiss
11)Madhouse Clown
------------------------------------------------------------
To try and describe PYC's sound is a bit hard. If you're familiar with the style of the band Clutch, PYC is kind of in the same vein to a certain extent, though PYC is more talented, versatile and varied than Clutch is.
Michael Savage's vocal style is also reminiscent of the singer from Clutch but Michael has a much more aggressive style. At some points he seems to recall Phil's vocal style from the metal band Pantera while at other times he seems to sound kind of like what Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top would sound like if he was a psychotic mass murderer. Add a little bit of Lemmy from Motorhead for extra spice. His lyrics are extremely twisted & violent and run the gamut from a guy talking about killing people indiscriminantly, being a lazy drunk bastard, killing his cheating girlfriend, making illegal drug runs and the headless horseman just to name a few.
The lyrics are pretty extreme stuff and will likely turn a lot of unsuspecting people off. But as twisted and questionable as some of the lyrics are, they are done more in the manner of him inhabiting a character of some sort and talking from that person's point-of-view. They are also really tongue in cheek most of the time, especially if you have an extremely dark and twisted sense of humor (like me!).
The music itself is kind of loud classic rock fused with metal and a touch of punk & blues as well. But the music doesn't sound dated and instead takes a lot of rock conventions and turns them on their collective heads. The music is loud and would feel right at home in a biker bar with a bunch of drunk bikers singing along while occasionally puking and beating the crap out of each other.
The musicianship is top notch and it's really cool to hear Danny Carey just rocking out on the drums. The music of his main bread and butter gig Tool is extremely complex and dense. The music of PYC on the other hand is just loud, fun and extremely dark hard rock that is just hard not to get into. Fletcher's guitar hits you like a ton of bricks and Stevenson's bass rumbles with one of the better bass tones that I've heard lately in hard rock.
The production is crystal clear as Danny Carey clearly used his clout from Tool to get them some great production quality that is one of the clearest and best sounding CD's that I've heard in recent times.
Some personal favorite songs include the driving Dry Run to Fontana which is a vocal tour-de-force for Michael Savage. Swamp Creature features lyrics inspired by old 50's B-movies like Creature from the Black Lagoon. 12 Gauge Kiss is about a questionable guy blowing away his girlfriend with a shotgun. and the last track Madhouse Clown features a really catchy and infectious sing along chorus that would fit right at home in any bar during last call.
I would've liked to be able to give more in depth descriptions of all of the tracks, but like I mentioned earlier, this is a really difficult CD to try to describe to someone.
If you are into bands like Clutch, Queens of the Stone Age, Monster Magnet and Kyuss along with the more extreme vocals stylings of bands like Pantera, you'll love PYC.
The CD might initially make you think it's going to be just another retro southern rock hard rock band, but by the time the vocals have kicked in and you've then gotten to track #2, you'll realize that you're listening to one of the most innovative, original and just plain cool CD's to come out in 2004 so far. This CD has been pretty much stuck in my CD player since I picked it up.
I'm sure that a lot of Tool fans will pick up this CD just because of the Danny Carey connection, but let me emphasize that PYC is about as far on the opposite side of the musical spectrum from Tool that it isn't funny. But it's just so refreshing to hear Danny just rocking out without any pretentious/progressive arrangements to get in his way. You can tell that these guy's are having a blast doing what they do and that's what truly counts!
Pigmy Love Circus.......2005-08-17
If you're interested in buying this CD just because of the Danny Carey connection, then it is a big waste of time. However if you're interested in buying this CD because you want to hear some devilish, and at times, disturbingly funny good ol' hard rock, then it could be worth your while. The lyrics and stinging style, for some reason remind me of GWAR, or perhaps Green Jelly, which is always a plus. Even so, the album isn't all that wonderful, though it has a couple of moments, notably the first song. Danny's drumming is hardly even distinguished, but if you listen closely, you can hear the drumming similarities between this band and Tool. But, keep in mind, that the bands are very different.

Even young people can listen to this guy.......2006-05-29
I just turned 18 and I still LOVE THIS GUY!!! I have a good ear and I know when I hear a good voice. I don't even listen to much rock because I'm more of a hip hop and gospel fan (rock is REALLY GROWING ON ME THOUGH), but "Into the Night" happens to be my FAVORITE SONG IN THE WORLD, well...this song and Kierra "Kiki" Sheard's "Praise Offering" (a strong, gospel vocal). He has a very powerful, raspy voice that is similar to my other favorite male artist (oh yeah, I didn't mention that Benny...I mean Mr. Mardones...is one of my FAVORITE MALE ARTISTS), MICHAEL BOLTON!!! I really wish he kept making singles and albums RIGHT after the success of Into the Night so he could really shine during his prime like Michael Bolton, Elton John, and other rock legends. The "ONE HIT WONDER OF THE 80's" has made himself a "DARK LEGEND" in the process and I think that has its perks. I hope he will continue to shine now even though he is living pass his time.
I'm So Sorry, Benny...........2005-09-18
I bought this cd to hear the acoustic version of "Into The Night", and was mildly impressed. As a true Benny fan I almost cried to hear how the years have taken a toll on his voice. The true bright spot on this is his duet w/ Tamara Walker on the old R&B cover, "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me". 3:33 was not enough time for this one. I could've done w/ a couple more minutes. "Baby Don't" is a nice little rocker, but the 1st song "Into The Night" (non-acoustical version) makes me want to cry when I hear the lack of power, range, and passion the years have taken on "The Voice". As a true Benny fan I will keep buying anything he puts out, but will no longer expect "Never Run, Never Hide", or the self titled "Benny Mardones" type vocals. But it still warrants 4 stars.
Benny Fan.......2005-07-17
Definitely 5 star material But I felt the delivery was slightly weak for someone with Benny's capability. Few compare in vocal talent but there are places on this CD where he comes across as if either battling a sore throat or as if he's been hanging around Michael Bolton too much. Don't get me wrong, the emotion is still there, it just lacks a bit of the Benny Punch. Regardless, this is still a CD worthy of anyone's collection and I anxiously await his next release to put my mind at rest that the years and the miles haven't taken their toll. That would be a huge loss for the music world!
Like no other...........2004-10-06
Anyone who loves passion and soul and who respects a highly valuable and underrated talent should buy this and cherish it. A day will come when there is no longer a Benny Mardones and this album will be the one to remember him by. It is who he is.
Into the Night.......2004-02-24
Benny has been an icon in the Central New York area for over 20 years. Every visit he makes is usually a sell out. Into the Night was one of the first that I listened to and was hooked. His vocal range is "out of this world" and he puts as much passion and heart into his singing as any (even more) than some of the "top" stars of today. This album will bring many minutes of sitting back and listening to his soft and sometimes "Roy Orbison" high notes.

Grew up in the LV myself; in college a friend of mine, Jolene Kernick, initiated me into the local scene (hello FOE). Anyway, saw Weston a couple of times in various venues. This album brings back a lot of memories, songs like "New Shirt", "Heather Lewis", etc. were anthematic back then. Recommended.

Good, but not great..........2003-12-06
Just to clear up a mistake in another review, weston's debut wasn't Splitsville. It was "A Real Life Story Of Teenage Rebellion" which is their best album and one of the best pop/punk albums ever. Got Beat Up has some classic songs, but it lacks something, mainly songs sung by Chuck and Dave. I think James took over way too much, but this is still an amazing album.

For all you kids who think pop punk began when blink-182 got played on the radio, GET WITH IT and pick up a record from a band who's been turning out fun, catchy tunes since before you knew punk rocked. Not only is Weston a good-hearted group of boys from PA who sing about high school crushes ( "Teenage Love Affair", "Varsity Sweater") and know how to turn that frown upside down with hilarious songs like "Retarded", they also tug on the heart strings with sweet, clumsy boyishness in "New Shirt" and "Heartbreak Sandwich". Everyone should own a copy of Got Beat Up and should play it all the way through at least fortnightly. And for extra fun, get their debut Splitsville. It has an amazing cover of Bon Jovi's "She Don't Know Me".
Oh so Good.........2000-02-29
This album brings back High School glory days long lost. It melds the good and the bad into one easy to relate to album. If you are looking for a change of pace or some time to reminisce then check out Weston at their best!
Oh so Good.......2000-02-29
This album brings back all the greatest memories of high school. The good times and the bad are felt throughout the album. There is nothing better than Weston when it comes to the uncommercialized sides of punk. If you listen to them, you are a part of them. Just wish they had more albums out there to sample!

Not Punk By the Book.......2005-12-14
Movies about sisters who face heartbreaking illness will always draw more people than zombie movies. Most people would take a new Harley Fatboy over a '67 Norton Commando. The new Tom Clancy book will sell more copies than everything Kafka and Kerouac have written combined. Green Day and Blink 182 will always outsell Crass. I don't understand any of these things, but that doesn't make them any less true.
Anti-Flag falls into the same category as the Norton, the zombie movie, and (much more reasonably) Crass. As a 20-year fan of the punk movement, I can honestly say these guys are the real deal. They sound like punk. They write punk lyrics. Their shows have all of the energy, unity and violence of the punk shows of the 80's. They even look punk.
In a time when `punk' has become fashionable, a time when you can buy an Exploited shirt at the mall (finding a CD of theirs might be a bit more challenging), the movement has undoubtedly lost some of its steam. Punk is not about being judgmental, but it's not about boy-meets-girl either. 15 years ago it would be hard to understand why anyone would `pose' as a punk, but today it can be quite lucrative. Finding a band in it for the music and not the Mountain Dew commercial deal is difficult (although it should be noted that several `older' punk bands have released great works over the last year, Soc. D, Bad Religion, Pennywise).
Anti-Flag's entire catalogue is fast, intense and thoughtfully written (A New Kind of Army my personal favorite). They don't fall into that three chord trap; they have a definitive lead guitar, a driving rhythm section, a counterpoint bass. They experiment with vocals, they harmonize, they keep it interesting. That being said, if you want to hear something that was produced at a multi-million dollar studio, note by note, may I suggest you look somewhere else.
If you like punk rock, real punk rock, you will probably like Anti-Flag. If you think punk rock is something played on MTV, you probably will not. If you are a fan of punk, I do urge you to disregard the unfair reviews on AF works, and form an opinion of your own. Isn't that what punk is all about anyway?
Foreseeing the Future........2005-12-05
Look man, what's with all the slammin' people on this album's review section?? Everyone has their own beliefs and feelings about the world and how it's being run, and bands like Anti-Flag and Propagandhi are always going to make people talk. Which is a good thing, unless it starts to make us turn against each other man. You know? Anti-Flag have a very specific view of the world and in particular their country. Some agree with their view and some don't. But we have to respect each other for our own views.
Anti-Flag are an intelligent, hard rockin' punk band that have been doing it for years and fortold all the crap that's happening in the states right now. Go back ten years and you'll see. They're like the Nastrodamus (however you spell his name) of punk rock.
Listen to them for the music, or listen to them for the message, or don't listen to them at all. But respect those who have their own opinion.
After all the politics and fashions and ideals, punk rock is about unity man. Unity.
true rebel is a real pinhead.......2005-11-24
To Mr."True Rebel":Are you from the south? Is that why you're such a right-wing neo facsist? What the hell do you think you're doing writing a review for anti-flag? I bet you love the flag more than you love yourself! tell me...do you have cute little american flag pajamas? Does the star spangled banner make you all hot and bothered? Oh yeah, how much is the Bush administration paying you to write this red-neck propaganda garbage? or are you dense enough to write all that for free? stick to what you know you conformist pig!
P.S. Anti-Flag rules!
True Rebel.......2005-10-02
To the guy below me who wrote his comment about how He is the true american for rebelling against it, how about the real rebels. people like me who rebel in our conservatism. you say you are rebelling against culture by watching your CNN not FOX, by saying you hate the government. HELLO IDIOTS! what is the "#1 name in news"? CNN! in Pop Culture, the liberals are the majority, it is just in the votes that conservatives have been the majority for the past few years. you twist peoples words to make them either seem for you or strongly against you. like complaining about the slow reaction to Katrina. yes it could have been better, but the complaints that it took 3 days to get military in? what about in California where so many people are like you, where there are programs saying that for the first 72 hours you are on your own after an earthquake? it was the same. 3 days=72 hours in case you Rebels ditched school because private schools are for the "rich republicans" and public school is run by the "evil government" you talk about how Bush hates Black people because they were killed in the storm. you know why they did? they are poor. they have no way to get out. AND THEY EXPECT THE GOVERNMENT TO DO EVERYTHING FOR THEM. but when the government did, they said no! unless they were dying at the time, they wouldnt leave. and guess what, they're all in Your political party. they agree with You. it is because of you that they are all on Welfare, and instead of going to get a job they are homeless with a home. unemployed but as well off as the middle class with their foodstamps and welfare checks. the liberals have caused so many problems in our country by tring to "help people"
so shut up and think ahead. so the people will be poor for now. that will make them get a job, they will put back into the economy, and will cut down on the government spending you are always complaining about. America is not perfect, and just as much of it is Liberal's fault as it is conservatives. If you get nothing else out of this, i ask you to think ahead in your decisions. Please?
Nice!.......2005-08-10
Anti-flag is a great band. Their songs are short and fun.
They did whiny a lot. But polictic and goverment and anarchy stuff are just better than dumb pop and stupid Emo.
Actually my favorite bands are all metal bands like Children of Bodom, In Flames, Arch Enemy..etc. But I do think this band's lyrics are way much better than metal.
Plus, their songs are just great! Not another weak punk band.

if you dont like it you are dumb.......2006-05-26
This comp. is amazing. Seriously so many amazing bands on this cd. There are some that kindof bad (lunachicks, always have been aweful) but 99% of the cd is amazing. If you are complaining about the vocals on this cd then you have no clue to anything. Look at the bands on this cd:lifetime, in my eyes, ensign, time flies, kill your idols, h20, I hate you, basically everything on the cd is awesome. I have never written a cd review before but when i saw the reviews i crapped my pants. This cd is a must have.
some people just don't know.......2005-10-16
i don't usually bother taking the time to write these things but i feel i must defend this comp. bouncing souls, anti-flag, ensign, kill your idols, against all authority, nine lives, atom and his package. i mean christ. this was my first real punk CD, it was my first time listening to these bands seven years ago and most of them (ensign, kill your idols, bouncing souls, anti-flag and probably others on the comp) are still together and still supporting and encouraging what we call our lifestyle. its real cliche to say punks dead, people just throw the phrase around without looking at those who keep it going. maybe this cd is just nastolgia for me but considering it was the cd that got me hooked or that encourage me to learn about the movement, im giving it five stars.
its suposed to be a lifestyle not a fad. don't talk __ unless you know what you're talking about.
Punk is officially dead if this is what punk is.......2002-12-19
Who the heck are these bands? This CD contains everything that is pure garbage. Maybe I am just getting old, but this is not punk. All the tracks on here sound the same save a handful of them. I know, it is not supposed to be easy to understand the lyrics half the time, but c'mon. I dare anyone to identify one single word in any of these songs. Joey and Dee Dee are spinning in their graves.
Not bad.......2002-05-19
I recently popped this CD back into my CD player. I don't know where along the line my tastes changed, But I was shocked by how good this album is. Remember what I said about the banging on the guitar randomly and screaming gibberish? Well truthfully, that only applies to a few songs. There are plenty other ones anyways (39 tracks). However, the vocals really ruin a lot of other tracks. Some people would say that they are just too "punk" for me and they'd probably be right. My tastes just run more towards Pennywise, NOFX and the like. Vocals that sound not too different from fingernails scraping against a chalkboard just aren't my cup of tea. Sometimes when a long guitar solo appears at the beginning, I think to myself "Dude, this is awesome" then the vocals appear and I find myself flinching at the sound of them. Then there's those grunt like vocals. When those appear I find myself saying "Just be like Sick of It All and SCREAM for g0d's sake". As for the lyrics, I like them. Unlike most compilations the booklet comes with the lyrics to most of the songs. They are usually about the punk rock way of life and the scene. Which I like a lot. Then there's songs about posers and pretty much anything you can think of that has to do with being a punk.
My tastes are always changing and expanding. Especially in the past year. And this album is proof of it. Peace.
THIS IS THE COMPILATION OF ALL COMPILATIONS.......2001-11-04

what the hell are you waiting for get out there and buy this album.
What are you doing, too much reading not enough buying
