About the Artist
Energized by another festival season in Montserrat, Ras I-Adon is stepping up the game with Logwood's latest soca recording, Crush a Soca Groove. Integrating classic soca techniques and bounce with hip hop, dancehall, and the Logwood edge, I-Adon and the Logwood Productions team, have put together a special. With In Strat and the instrumental Stratical etched on the hearts of Montserratians, I-Adon approached this album from a very different perspective, delivering an assortment of songs from the thought provoking Legalize It, and playful Wuk it Hard to the hard-hitting Brukin Up.

Featured on the album are guest performances by the Despret One, Sadiki-I, Ijah Menelik, and the Good Principle. While in Montserrat, I-Adon performed as a guest during the Queen Show Competition, the Calypso Finals, the Funky Man Awards Ceremony, and a number of other venues. Born Greame Benjamin Samuels, I-Adon relocated to New York when he was eleven years old. Education was given top priority throughout his childhood so after a year of school in New York, I-Adon was sent to Groton, a boarding school in Massachusetts. From Groton he went to Cornell University where he earned both a Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Structural Engineering. In the autumn of 2001 I-Adon founded Logwood Productions, and by July 2003 released Logwood's debut album entitled Logwood Eruptions Vol. 1 with co-producer and All-Stars artist the Despret One. I-Adon contributed two songs, Man from Strat and a cover of Chuck Berry's Jaguar and Thunderbird. The response to the album was positive resulting in airplay on stations in Montserrat, Antigua, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Atlanta, California, and the Eastern Caribbean. Performances to support the release of the album included the Caribbean American Festival held on Webster Ave. in the Bronx, as well as a variety of opening performances for various shows in the New York City area.

Because of his focus on production, Ras I-Adon has had the opportunity to work with a number of artists outside the Logwood camp. To his credit are several indie releases. He produces soca, reggae, hip hop, and some R & B. I-Adon has performed in numerous shows with artists such as Hero, Arrow, Scrunter, Junior Kelly, and Kevin Little to name just a few.

Ras I-Adon is available for interviews either by telephone or in person, and performs live.
