Editorial Reviews
U4Ea! is the would-be love child of early Jackson 5 and Boyz II Men, and the unlikely spawn of the Ronettes and the Chiffons combined with "Laker Girl" choreography.

U4Ea! Releases Maxi CD: 'Baby, I'm Ready'--Hott Dish!!Records Release, First On Web In 2000
The U4Ea! Maxi-CD release, "Baby, I'm Ready", is a collection of 3 original songs plus a medley/tribute to the vocal group's idols: The Jackson 5.
The first single is titled "Baby, I'm Ready", (4:20 radio edit) written by U4Ea!'s co-founder Maxx Chiccoine and veteran Motown producer Samm Brown (Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, Maxine Nightengale), features Maxx in the lead, with K.C. and Micki Dee exchanging leads and the girls doing all of their own backing vocals.
"Baby, I'm Ready", is a sensual and seductive ballad that tastefully describes the first night of a young couple's first sexual encounter. It's track is reminiscent of the best of the Babyface produced ballads with an 'old school', classic undulating R&B groove. The song also has a subtle almost undetectable message of the couple's decision to wait. ("But you never pushed me or rushed me to have sex with you...tonight is the night all the waiting is through".)
Of the other 2 originals, "I'll Be There 4U", (also written by Chiccoine and Brown) features Maxx in an emotionally charged vocal that has elements reminding us of Diana Ross' sexy and playful vocal style. It is a moderate uptempo pop song with a catchy "doo-wop" background vocal riff at the end of the sing along (chorus) for transitional flavor. The song talks about the uncertainty which often exists in the beginning of a romance ("at first there was some doubt in my mind, that you were the one I was searching to find"), but it concludes in a climatic shout chorus declaring the discovery and absolute certainty of unconditional love and friendship. Maxx also does some nifty ad libs in the vamp.
"2 Divided By 1" has Maxx, Micki Dee and K.C. swapping leads to tell the story of a girl who one day looks at her guy and discovers, "the painful fact someone else is on your mind". Though she realizes that he is "getting it somewhere else", rather than expressing understandable jealousy and anger, she wistfully does the numbers and comes to the mathematical conclusion that: "2 Divided By 1, leaves somebody sad and lonely, while the other falls in love." She decides to move on with her pride intact.
To round out U4Ea!'s first effort, is the Jackson 5 Tribute Medley, an homage to the group for which U4Ea! notes is "the primary source of our inspiration". (It also explains the wise choice of Samm Brown as their producer.)
The medley includes the 1969-70 Jackson 5 number 1 hits "I Want You Back" (featuring former Motown, Barry White and Radio ace guitarist, Charles Fearing), "ABC", and "The Love You Save".
U4Ea! stays true to the original version of each song, and Micki Dee does a credible and faithful adaptation of Michael Jackson's original lead. There is an amusing and playful reference to Maxx being the 'white girl' in the group during the dance breakdown.
"Baby, I'm Ready", the Maxi-CD is the very first CD to be released online in the millennium. This interracially mixed pop girl group, whose nascence pre-dates Spice Girl's by 2 years, has slowly built a fiercely loyal following through their extraordinary talent and ability to sing and dance simultaneously. The Beatlesque CD cover calls them "America's Phenomenal Female Pop Group". We believe they will be the first American girl group to live up to the label hype.

Customer Reviews:
hum hum ? another guy who believes he knows how to sing ?.......2003-09-30
6 people all giving 6 stars ? Come on , Greg Nicholson, you can do better that inviting your friends to submit comments.
As for the so-called music, it is not so great. A very strong feeling of already-heard ( early 90's ... ) but with no real character or creation.
That is sad in a way because I think there's potential in Greg's voice and guitar. If only he wasn't trying to mimic other ( bad ) bands ...
After listening carefully to this album , looking for an "incredible" song ( as advertised by Greg's friends) in vain, I wouldn't recommend this album.

Anyway, when I heard him sing it just melted my heart. Great songs, killer voice, and melodies that you can't forget. I bought this CD and took it home with me and I've been in love with the CD (and Greg!) ever since. Every single song on it just touches me. I recommend it to anyone and everyone!
