En realidad es unos de mis salseros favoritos y unos de los mas dificiles de encontrar en cualquier lugar! En esta produccion es una tremenda produccion en sus 8 temas. Tambien tiene salsa romantica para empezar el disco.

early baroque fake-book inspiringly read.......2005-10-07

This is inspired playing/interpretation of an obscure Mexican cittern(!) instruction manual on viol, cittern, chitarrone, and various percussions. It's full of familiar tunes reset -- the folias, canarios, branles, ..., and some you've never heard before. Some of the rhythms are conjectural, but the results make you want to dance. If you like Paniagua, you'll love this.

Tuning a bit temperemental, but faultless recorder playing non-the-less. Wonderful vibrato Pamela. Much better in concert however. Something is lacking on CD. Your live performances are much more superior. A professional message Pam - try to detach yourself from thee music a little! Much love!

A Great Introduction to Zarzuela.......2000-10-14

Audivis, a French recording company had done a great deal to introduce the music world to the delights of zarzuela. This CD have excerpts from some of the best moments of zarzuelas already recorded by Audivis, like La Tabernera del puerto, Luisa Fernanda, El barberillo de Lavapiés, Bohemios, La Verbena de la Paloma, Doña Francisquita and the Spanish opera Goyescas. These delighful melodies are brought to life with the voices and artistry of Placido Domingo and Maria Bayo. Domingo bring his beautiful sound and passion to arias like No puede ser from La Taberbera del Puerto and Romance de Javier from Luisa Fernanda. These two arias are two of the best tenor solos of the genre and really comparable to any Puccini aria. Bayo shines with her silvery voice, her coloratura is cristal clear in the solos from La Tabernera del Puerto and Doña Francisquita and her pianissimo singing is a joy in La Maja y el Ruiseñor from Goyescas. Apart from the solos, there are very fine duets, not only between Domingo and Bayo, but also with other artists, among them the great Alfredo Kraus. There are also some delightful orchestral preludes that bring the listener an idea of how diverse and energetic is the music of Zarzuela. This CD showcases Domingo and Bayo singing in their first language with skill and brio. And probably will bring the listener the oportunity to hear the complete works in a near future.
