About the Artist
Daryl Johnson has played and recorded with his uncles the Neville Brothers . He sang and played bass on some tracks. Larry Fulcher is currently in Taj Majals Phantom Blues Band. Tony Chin ,from Jamaica and now Calif. is the rhythm guitar on thousands of reggae tracks, including Soul Syndicare, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh,Mighty Diamonds, Big Mountain, Big Youth, Bunny Wailer,etc. Bernie Larsen wrote songs for Jackson Browne, David Lindley, and Mellisa Etheridge. He has his own band called "Cry on Cue" in L.A. Ca. Semisi M'au is from Tonga (South Pacific) and records original music in San Diego Ca. Jerry McCann was on Electra in the 1970's with "Show of Hands", and played in "Framework" an internationaly known rock band. He now records his own music in San Diego. Dean Smith played guitar wit Captain Beefheart and is a well known singer songwriter in San Diego, Ca. Jim French is an internationaly known instrument inventor and player who makes instrments for people like Pharoah Sanders. Larry Dent played a lot of the Drum tracks has recorded in L.A. and San Diego over the las 25 years. Gary Reed Johnson the producer and featured percussionist, has led Tribal Luchbox and played with the International Reggae Allstars.

Better Music, Better Planet.......2001-03-08

This CD compilation of several different songwriters and musicians is as listenable as it is inspiring. Rooted in reggae and world beat, "Music for a Better Planet" continues on where Bob Marley left off. The lyrics incorporate messages of hope in catchy melodies that you want to sing all day. This album features excellent vocals in a variety of song styles and arrangements. "Promise of Love", sung by the gritty and soulful Jerry McCann is a classic. "Love Is The Answer", sung by the immensely gifted Darryl Johnson, is reminiscent of the great Marvin Gaye. The lush instumental, "Healing Mother Earth", uses the ancient and modern primitive instruments of Jim French to invoke a natural ambiance that takes you to a place in the creation untouched by the worries of modern life. This album incorporates surprising variety with a uniting purpose beaufifully summarized in the liner notes prose piece using each of the song titles: "Realize that You Are The Music and don't forget the Promise of Love". Music for A Better Planet is beautiful, heartful concept album that everyone should have in their CD collection not only for musical enjoyment, but also to remind us of the universal truths and values making life a journey of love and wonderment.
