R. Murray Schafer, author of "Tuning of the World," wrote "The sea has always been…symbolic of eternity, change, cleansing, purification, refreshment, and renewal. [Paradoxically], it defies the laws of gravity: flowing down-ward and evaporating upward." The ocean shore is also the most elusive sound to capture in a recording. Symbolic of all life, it contains every aspect of known sound: rhythm, melody, loudness, softness, texture, detail, lowest and highest frequencies, form and chaos. Each coastal environment sounds different - each speaking with its own special voice. This recording was made during the winter at a remote beach along the Big Sur coast of California.

This CD contains a good choice of American patriotic tunes and songs. The recording is good and the price is affordable. If it is your first CD of American patriotic tunes and songs, it is a good choice. However, if you prefer the same tunes and songs played or sung by an other orchestra, band or choir, just shop on Amazon; there are hundred of different versions.

OCEAN WONDERS

This soundscape is an aural voyage beginning at a beach along the Big Sur (California) coast, and descending below the surface into the depths of the sea, before emerging to the shore, once again. The sea pulsates with biological sound. We've all heard birds screaming above the sounds of breaking waves while standing at the shore. Some of us have even enjoyed the recorded sounds of humpback and killer whales (orcas). However, in addition to those just mentioned, this recording provides even more exciting insights into the voices of the ocean introducing the rhythmic sounds of fish and crustaceans in a marine context not normally heard.

OCEAN WONDERS. One day, some time ago, I dreamed of creating an audio journey that invites the listener on a trip from the seashore to the depths of the ocean and back again…just to hear what's there. We know so little about why and (sometimes) how creatures vocalize. This is especially true of marine creatures whose sounds never cease to surprise, delight and engage us. This soundscape features birds, whales, and crustaceans as part of the aural texture of the experience. In addition, we hear fish that are especially active vocally around the coral reefs of the world that are still healthy and viable.

Amazing album!!!.......2007-06-19

Wow, I think this is by far, one of the best albums that have been recently released. I'm a big Corrs fan and the only reason for which I bought the CD is for the song in which they perform, but I have to say that all tracks are excellent, with Deo being the best one.
There is only one song that is a little boring (Lament), but the rest of the songs are totally worth your money.
If you are into Celtic music, this album is definitely for you, and if you're not, but you enjoy very good music you should give it a try, and I'm sure you're not gonna be disappointed.
