5 out of 5 stars Sound as if I am in church........2007-06-07

Though my title says chicano_punk, I have an apreciation for music also. I have a church choir, and I wish they would just sound like the voices ensembled in this album. I usually listen to this cd when I am doing my college work or I need to meditate, it is very relaxing. The vocals in this album are wonderful, and I have to say that it sounds good. I usually dislike songs that are ensembled with instruments, and choir voices, but this cd surely proved me wrong. As my comment said, it sets the ambience as if I am in church though, when I am listening to this cd. You should here the previews on this cd, and hear the voices that I am talking about. This is a great celtic album, and if you want something that is mind relieving, then you should listen to this cd.

. . . for the "non-listener" who just rated this CD three stars and admitted they hadn't even listened to it! First, why bother reviewing it if you haven't heard it! And drag down the overall score as well! This CD is beautiful by the way and deserves a full five stars. I am purchasing it again as a gift.

This CD was a Christmas gift and as yet I have not heard whether it was good or not.

5 out of 5 stars Best Celtic CD Ever.......2007-01-18

This is my absolute fav. celtic CD. I have had to buy it three times cause everyone loves it so much it keeps "turning up missing"

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful; peaceful; classic Celtic.......2006-11-28

This was one of the cd's I put with the cd player we gave my mother when she started getting suddenly really sick with cancer, and she played it a lot. I hope, and think it must have had to take her mind off for a while at least. My other 4 sisters and I do some traditional songs, and we sang "Rosa Mystica" (which we first heard on this CD), voices-only, at her funeral Mass -- she had a very close relationship with Mary and the Rosary and there couldn't have been a more fitting song. This is a great traditional Celtic album; haunting but so beautiful. Doesn't sound at all like your typical church music but is very spiritual and would actually work well for meditation of any kind, as well as just being a very beautiful album.

5 out of 5 stars Music for Meditation.......2007-01-04

This is a delightful collection of music appropriate to meditative prayer. It is often my prayer companion, and I like the style and performance found on this CD. I highly recommend it to people who enjoy deeper reflection with a wordless musical background.

4 out of 5 stars Be Thou My Vision.......2005-10-19

Track 3, Be Thou My Vision, was a surprise as the song was the final song played at my father's funeral. It set the closing mood most fittingly. While Be Thou My Vision is my favorite the entire collection is wonderfully mellow. I recommend it for for the mellow moods.

4 out of 5 stars Reverent, beautiful.......2003-09-21

After criticizing Windham Hill in the past for often recycling the same songs over and over in various collections, I have to hand it to them with the new "Prayer" CD. It's a fine set of all-new acoustic versions of hymns or spiritual songs, plus a good number of original compositions. Producer Dawn Atkinson has done an excellent job of lining up a bunch of top-drawer people for "Prayer," and in working with the artists on the song selection.

Things get started with Tim Story's lovely piano rendition of the "Sanctus" from Faure's Requiem. The quiet and reflective tone of that piece carries throughout the CD. Other highlights include Paul McCandless's moving "Lord's Prayer" version and Steve Erquiaga's "Ave Maria." "Prayer" is a perfect disc for background listening if you're engaged in some activity that needs harmonious yet unobtrusive accompaniment.

The Irish Tenors' fourth album sees the trio of Anthony Kearns, Ronan Tynan, and Finbar Wright paying a sentimental musical tribute to Ellis Island, the hallowed landmark that met the majority of immigrants entering the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. Needless to say, the Tenors' repertoire this time around is full of reflective ballads of love, loss, and homesickness, including the original "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" that opens this disc. Throughout this studio recording, the Irish Tenors are in fine form and backed by a soft-hued orchestra that never interferes with their soaring vocals. Traditional tunes include "My Wild Irish Rose," "How Are Things in Glocca Mora," and, of course, "Danny Boy" (the last sung by all three tenors, with refreshingly simple solo piano accompaniment). Thankfully, the threesome didn't forget that the immigrants had fun, too, as evidenced by some lighthearted fare; "The Courtin' Medley" features the Tenors at their most upbeat and comical. Ellis Island is a moving aural portrait of the struggles and triumphs of the Irish émigrés and a must-have for fans of the threesome. Newcomers may enjoy the Tenors' debut disc even more, as the earlier live album is a slightly more upbeat and spirited affair. --Jason Verlinde

5 out of 5 stars Three Cheers for the Irish!!!.......2007-05-30

A glorious concert in a historic setting, with all involved in top notch form. Finbar finds a great old Johnny Cash number, Ronan sings a Glocka
Mora to end all, and Anthony Kearns sings murderously difficult versions
of Macushla and The Croppy Boy like an angel. And their Courtin' and Irish
Medleys, and their "Nation Once Again" trios are simply glorious glees.

With the benefit of a grand theme, this is perhaps the best, and best balanced, of all their programs.

5 out of 5 stars Ellis Island song brings tears to my eyes.......2006-03-17

This magical album crosses oceans and centuries and puts me in touch with my Irish ancestry. The title song tells a story similar to my greatgrandmother's and even though I've heard it many times now, I still weep for her.

5 out of 5 stars How Are Things In Glocca Morra?.......2004-04-16

Long a fan of Irish music, I have turned to a series of artists to satiate my appetite. Bing Crosby and John McCormick have been succeeded by the Irish Tenors.

This CD has a bit more of an Irish American theme as "Isle Of Hope, Isle Of Tears" and "God Bless America" illustrate. Interspersed among these tunes are traditional Irish tunes such as "Macushla" and "Croppy Boy", along with newer songs, such as "The Green Fields Of France" and "How are Things In Glocca Morra?"

The singing is excellent, the words understandable. I appreciate the inclusion the lyrics of the songs contained on the insert of the cover. These are songs you will want to learn, whose stories you will want to research. I have. Listen again and again!

I think this is best CD since Live in Belfast! it also has 2 songs not included on the video! it's a unique album of how the immigration to Ellis Island and New York turned out. It also has songs of the war such as The Green Fields Of France (The Best One) or, the croppy boy. I would recommend this to anyone!

Just a year after their smash breakthrough debut album--itself still riding high in the charts--the Irish Tenors have added another delightfully varied collection to their discography. Live in Belfast again showcases the group's obvious concert charisma from a performance given in February 2000. It's a generous smorgasbord of medleys, traditional numbers, and songs from popular sources (including "Scorn Not His Simplicity," which Sinead O'Connor has interpreted)--mixing nostalgic sentimentality with selections of bittersweet melancholy. Binding the whole together is the unmistakable stylish charm of the Irish Tenors, whether singing in solos or in ensembles. But the biggest surprise for fans already hooked on the Tenors is the introduction of Finbar Wright as replacement for original member John McDermott. Wright's bright, romantic voice easily wins over a potentially skeptical crowd--especially in the dreamy "Isle of Innisfree"--and blends nicely with his colleagues. (McDermott, who had to bow out of the performance due to the death of his mother, makes a surprise appearance to solo in a memorable and touching "The Last Rose of Summer"--given as a tribute to his parents--and to rejoin the Tenors for "Red Is the Rose.") The arrangements by Tenors producer Frank McNamara are played with zest by the Orchestra Warsaw Sinfonia. --Tom May

5 out of 5 stars Great Music and Outstanding Voices.......2007-03-28

My wife and I saw these tenors live and on stage and we were truly impressed. Their voices blend beautifully and they present a well rounded variety of songs. We so enjoyed the first CD that we bought this current one.

5 out of 5 stars Time for a new one.......2001-10-19

I bought this CD, (plus the video) in July 2000 and listened to it so much I think it must be just about worn out.!!!The video I have seen so often I bet I have seen every idiosyncrasy of each of them. The Tenors are almost my total pastime. About 12 hours a day, listening and viewing. I "met" them July 22/00 and have been to four concerts, and I'm still impressed by the joyous sounds of their voices.
It's been a lomg time since I wrote my last review of this CD, but I hope I have helped to encourage others to enjoy the thrill of the most magnificent voices of their lives.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful music, wonderful voices.......2001-05-31

I do not claim to be a musical expert. It has always been my contention that music which makes the listener feel good, which raises the spirits and makes the heart glad, is worthy of being heard. Such is this CD. I don't listen to it to search for flaws, flubs, failings and screw-ups. I listen to it because it makes me happy. I am of Irish ancestry, and this wonderful music stirs a core deep within my soul. I got to hear some traditional Irish folk music I'd never heard before. I would hope that all those who listen to this CD would choose to enumerate its merits based on the fact that this music is meant to lighten the soul. It never was meant to be held up to intense scrutiny, because it is folk music. These are the songs the people sang. They weren't meant to be grand, classical opera, and should not be regarded or critiqued as such. They are beautiful and moving, just as they stand, and I am grateful that God gave these four men such voices to sing these old tunes and to preserve them for the generations to come. God knows we need positive, beautiful music now more than ever.

4 out of 5 stars Professional on professionals.......2001-05-05

I am taking from the best in the world. I have met Pavarotti's teachers (Joan Doanerman and Joan Sutherland) and also take from them. I am very well-known in musical analyzing and teaching. I have read all reviews, and personally, many of you need to learn much more about proper vocal technique to be a critic. The voice must flow, with support (breath), low larynx, etc. All four tenors possess the proper singing qualities. However, stage presence, song interpretation, and musicianship also take into affect. Finbar Wright needs to continue his musicianship. He possesses much more romanticism than he shows. Also, anyone can say words like "texturing, spellbinding and dominance," and sound like a knowledgeable critic. However, these words are thrown into sports review as well. Face it folks, know what you are saying. John McDermott has a beautiful voice, but it is a much different classical style than many people know. John is a Celtic Tenor, which means that his under- and overtones will sound much different than the other three. The symphony is NOT too dominant, David Schierholz. If you have worked with the Met recording studios, than you can talk with me, because I have sat in on them. These are live performances, not takes in a studio. Folks, I am a born and bred Irishman. These men are great, but there needs to be more of there individual literature available. I would love to find Anthony Kearns classical recordings. Then, when you have studied and understand the nature of the voice and theatre, then you can write your reviews.

5 out of 5 stars Tenners for Tenors.......2001-02-16

This cd and video was my introduction to the wonderful "Irish Tenors". Seperately each is spellbinding. Together they are nothing short of magical. Finbar Wright is a dashingly romantic figure while Ronan Tynan is most compelling. Anthony Kearns will be a major star someday in the opera world. His voice is clear and strong. Wright's voice soars in songs such as "Carrickfergus" and "Isle of Innisfree". He seems a bit nervous which is understandable given he had only 10 days to prepare for this concert. He was asked literally days before the performance to step in for John McDermott. Thank goodness he did! The one downer for me was the appearance of John McDermott as his voice is not my cup of tea.

The follow-up to Fairy of the Woods, Fairy NightSongs, and Fairy HeartMagic finds Gary Stadler back at the piano spinning out lush emotive songs that conjure moonbeams, star-blanketed nights, and enchanted forests. Layers of light synthesizer, Lisa Lynne's dreamy Celtic harp, and the fantasy language lyrics of fine new vocalist Stephannie dance with Stadler's soft-pedaled playing. Fairy HeartMagic, rather than featuring starkly individual pieces, plays more like slightly varied movements of one unified piece, just right for pre-slumber, soft-focus Saturday mornings, or unwinding after a long afternoon. While not written specifically for children, little ones will find this frolicsome but gentle music pleasant to the ears and soothing to the psyche. Stadler, whose songs often begin as bedtime songs for his wife, has composed and arranged a dilly of a lullaby for the magical landscape of vision and reverie. --Paige La Grone

Album Description

Acclaimed composer Gary Stadler (Fairy of the Woods, Fairy NightSongs) takes you further into the world of ancient Celtic lore, featuring extraordinary " Enya-esque" vocalist Stephannie and Celtic Harpist Lisa Lynne. I was going to rate this 4 stars, because I was unhappy to find so many instrumental tracks. They are pretty (though nothing special), but there are 6 of them. Out of twelve that's disappointing, but then I read the booklet and found that there are an additional 2 tracks you can get on the computer. One of them is called Story, which is more of a spoken poem; the other I'm not sure but I'm calling it Far Away and it's very beautiful.
A lovely album altogether.

About the extra tracks, you can get them only on the computer. For windows I'm not sure, but the 'presentation' doesn't work on my Mac. However, you can access the folder called 'gary media' and drag the tracks to iTunes (or your desktop). Along with the two complete songs, you also get a lot of sample songs for other albums.

The booklet that comes along with the CD explains how to get the tracks, and has the lyrics for the 12 tracks on the CD. Pretty artwork!

Very different from the first Gary Stadler CD I got, Deep Within a Faerie Forest (the tracks in addition to being beautiful are also cool), which I recommend, but Stephannie has a sweet voice and the songs are pleasing to the ear with a few treasures.

5 out of 5 stars Very Soothing.......2007-03-02

Do you need some soothing, yet uplifting background music? That is what I was looking for, and I was not disappointed! It is suitable for an adult, who I purchased it for, as well as children for quiet times. I will be checking out more titles from this artist.

5 out of 5 stars Enchanting~.......2006-03-09

I disagree with Marc Ruby... Stephaine has a beautiful voice.
Its my fav of all the Gary Stadler Fairy cd's..Stepahine's voice takes you to another time..another place.. I love it! Wish I could find more of her but so far have been unable to..
This Cd is definalty worth your money!

3 out of 5 stars Definitely off the beaten path.......2005-11-09

This is a CD I enjoy. It is definitely not within the mainstream of most musical styles. It was the inclusion of Lisa Lynne on a couple of selections that encouraged me to buy it without having heard it. Generally, I was not disappointed although this CD doesn't inspire me as much as some other New Age and Native American music I have.
For me, the treasure in this CD is the song "Sa'Brooke", which features Stephannie singing softly over gentle, evocative music in a gaelic-sounding language which, according to the insert, she essentially came up with herself. Her voice is sweet, passionate and inspiring in a simple melody which perfectly compliments the gentle arrangement.
"Deanash", though nice, is basically "Garden of Dreams" without the vocals or orchestral arrangement. The same could be said for "Heartmagic", a piano solo which is really "Sa'Brooke" without the vocals or orchestral arrangement. To my ear, these two variations represent a failure on the part of the producer to avoid repetitiveness.
It is a good CD for background ambiance while reading or writing.

4 out of 5 stars Fairy This, Fairy That........2005-05-02

This is the kind of album that pushes me into a new age crisis. While there is nothing inherently wrong with it, the fact that Stadler opted for a 'cute' title and album cover is a warning that the potential for great silliness in the name of a music genre lurks in the bushes.

For the most part, this never materializes, although my slight deafness reduces the impact of lyrics that are a bit lightheaded. Musically the album is sometimes hackneyed (angelic choirs, etc.), but always pleasant to hear. Little moments, like Deanash make up for the less successful parts and overall I rate this album as good background for contemplative or creative moments.

This album was originally intended for performance with Singh Kaur. Unfortunately, the singer died before the recording and Stephannie took Singh Kaur's place. Unfortunately, I say, because Stephannie's voice has a 'little girl' edge and breathiness that was totally absent from Singh Kaur's. This gives the singing a trivial sound when it deserves better. On the bright side, though, is Lisa Lynne's appearance on harp. Essentially, this is a break-even for the listener.

Frankly, I would go with Fairy Night Songs and only buy this album if it is exactly your cup of tea. New age vocals are difficult on a good day and you are likely to be a bit disappointed. Listen to Fairy Night Songs and Sa'Brooke - you will see what I mean. But the instrumental work is good. You will have to decide for yourself.

Not many composers have worked with Elvis Presley, Cliff Richards, The Dubliners, and Planxty. Such is the strange musical world of Phil Coulter, who has recorded a series of Tranquility records that emphasize lush orchestral arrangements of various national folk music from Ireland to America, and on this title, Scotland. "Lush" is the operative word here, as he spins classic Scots melodies like "Ye Banks and Braes" and "Auld Lang Syne" into Mantovani-like flourishes for piano and orchestra, punched up with a fuzzy but gentle electric guitar and drums to give it "punch." It's the apex of Celtic nostalgia, and you will love it or hate it based solely on your tolerance for lots of airy strings, rippling piano lines, and reverbed, mountainous flute sounds. Coulter has had a lot of gold and platinum recordings over the years, so there's plenty of fans for his Celtic lounge act. --Louis Gibson

I first heard this album while walking through a small shop in Sisters, Oregon, and was quite taken with Coulter's interpretation of these Scottish songs. When I want to relax, this is one of the first album's I think of.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD for Road Trips.......2005-08-27

This is probably our favorite CD to play when we're on the road. Wonderful arrangements of many familiar Scottish ballads. Whenever we come to a town with a Scottish name, we love to crank up the volume on "Scotland the Brave"!

5 out of 5 stars Scottish Tranquility.......2005-07-29

This is, by far, one of the best musical recordings I have ever heard. I intend to get some more of Phil Coulter's albums. To put it simply - He's GREAT!!!

This offbeat disc of seasonal songs and carols by the Anonymous 4 will delight their fans and please everyone else. The 19 selections include traditional folk melodies and texts, some of which date back to the Middle Ages, interspersed with fitting selections by contemporary composers including John Taverner, Benjamin Britten, and Peter Maxwell Davies, whose ethereal a cappella A Calender of Kings gets its first recording. Andrew Lawrence-King, playing Irish harp, Baroque harp, and psaltery with his accustomed finesse, is a major reason for the disc's success, accompanying most of the vocals and contributing three lovely solos. The disc is crammed with highlight tracks, like the lilting Cornish Wassail song and the Irish Good people all, and haunting numbers like "Flight into Egypt," sung in Gaelic, and "Behold, here is the best morning," sung in Welsh. Excellent sonics and Harmonia Mundi's typically fine production values also help make this a Christmas disc that will give joy in July. --Dan Davis

5 out of 5 stars lovely and unusual Yule album.......2004-01-06

Anonymous 4 has brought us a beautiful selection of 19 traditional songs from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. These include a lesser known work by Henry VIII as well as more contemporary songs by John Tavener, Richard Bennett, Geoffrey Burgon and Benjamin Britten, and a piece commissioned for the group from Peter Davies. Andrew Lawrence-King accompanies on Irish harp, Baroque harp and psaltery. There is a short essay on the traditions and legacy of the concept of Yule, a Cetic midwinter celebration, and this and the informative liner notes are given in English, French and German, accompanied by Celtic drawings.

The songs are pure, simple and very beautiful -- a welcome addition to your holiday listening.

5 out of 5 stars Goose Flesh!.......2003-12-09

This is a remarkable quartet, singing with purity and style, from the haunting to the merry, medieval chant to modern settings of Celtic religious texts. Where there are arrangements, they are lovely and the instrumental pieces are simple and beautiful. This is the first time I have heard this group of women, and I am enchanted. It's a cappella at its very best: look to your laurels, King's Singers and Chanticleer, here come the ladies!

Rediscover the magic - Become filled with exquisite beauty as you journey into a mystical land of dreams. This new collaboration from bestselling composer Gary Stadler (Fairy HeartMagic) and Australian vocalist Wendy Rule leads you through landscapes of forest, deep into the heart of nature. Those who are familiar with Gary's previous albums will recognize the soulful beauty of his piano based soundscapes. To this Gary now adds artful Cello, Uilleann Pipes, and classical guitar. Combine that with the magical voice and gentle guitar of Australian singer/songwriter Wendy Rule and the lovely Celtic harp of Lisa Lynne, and the result is absolutely breathtaking. While their music can be compared to Enya or Loreena Mckennitt, they have crafted their own special style. Come along with them on this serene and spellbinding journey, as images of the ancient Celtic Faerie realm come alive once more and touch you with enchantment.

I was hoping for more of an ethereal sound. The CD isn't bad, just not what I expected.

5 out of 5 stars Spellbinding.......2006-02-26

I absolutely LOVE this album. It is magical, spellbinding, and very calming. My grandson, age 6, also loves the CD. It is his and my favorite CD, and we play it often.

5 out of 5 stars The fairies are closer than ever now.......2005-03-18

Beautiful, magical album that really sends my consciousness to dance with fairies and gets me dreaming of living in a green woods with lovely people around. For the one who was blaming the album I would say that you yourself are a freak, because your senses are so dull that you can't feel this magic anymore. And if you ask enlightened people, they say that fairies exist, but only in the right side of a brain... So only your feminine, intuitive part can see the fairies, and ghosts and other spirits that co-exist in another dimension parallel to our own. Small children can also see them. But if you live too much in your head you can't feel any of these things...
The artists in this records sure have experienced themselves and they share it in such a beautiful way that brings tears of gratitude to my eyes. So maximum respect to them!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant........2005-01-24

This is the most "Gothic" or "dark" sounding album of Stadler's. I'm not familliar with Rule's other work, but this disk is my favourite of the Faerie series. It's absolutely gorgeous, with transcendental musick and divine near-operetic aethereal vocals atop. She does sound like a Fae queen. I would recommend this to anyone who embraces the more dark side of Fae; someone big on introspection and meditation. This is a great release.. thanks you guys for such a gift.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Irish Tunes in the Air!.......2006-04-11

Robert Shaw was the master of choral singing in his day and the many albums of choral music, both a cappella and accompanied, both light classics and the big works, remain as a tribute to his gifts.

IRISH FOLK SONGS are sung by the chorale unaccompanied in a simple straightforward fashion without the at times flawed scooping tones heard in other choral renditions. The songs are all tunes we've heard - no surprises here - but the quality of choral tone and inflection is unmatched. Included are exquisite versions of 'Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye', 'The Parting Glass', 'My Gentle Harp', 'Avenging and Bright' along with the more popular tunes.

This is one of those nostalgia recordings, CDs you bring out for certain moods, and this is one that will stay active on the section of the much-played shelf! Grady Harp, April 06

3 out of 5 stars Lucious, beautiful, gorgeous, but alas, incomprehensible.......2005-11-15

Mostly I agree with the other reviewers. If all you want is lovely sound and melodies for playing as background or mood music, you'll be delighted.

However, the lyrics on virtually every track cannot be understood. Here and there a few words and phrases break through, but that's it. You won't understand anything else unless you already know the words. One of the other reviewers hits on the real problem here: BMG's cheap job on the liner notes. There aren't any. This disk really needed the lyrics.

By the way, the second to last track is "Garry Owen", the regimental battle march of Custer's 7th Cavalry in its folk song form. You still won't understand too much of the song, but the CD may be worth it just for that track.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent soft Irish songs.......2005-06-22

If you like soft Irish songs sung very well, this CD is a good choice. The Robert Shaw Chorale gives an excellent performance, the orchestration is excellent and it is a very easy listening CD. It is a mix of nostalgic and love songs. A good CD to buy.

5 out of 5 stars Robert we're glad we knew ye.......2000-06-29

As with any Robert Shaw conducted chorale, this CD far supercedes traditional expectations about the performance of a single genre of music. As with his Sea Shanties recording, in this set of songs Mr. Shaw focused into a particular area of choral literature, this time with old Irish Folk Songs. Although each song has had a makeover by Alice Parker, the arrangements are a welcome sight into their appeal to a current listener. No, unfortunately every song may not appeal melodically or emotionally to a particualr listener, but if nothing else listen to them for the tremendous aesthetic value of a superior chorale. As with any typical Shaw recording, the voices are richly blended within each piece to bring about the finest aspects of it. From the beginning the resonance of the men of the chorale is obvious but not too prominent and never becomes a distraction. The women blend well without coming close to screeching or scratching away valued musical methods. Through such pieces as Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye and The Girl I Left Behind Me Shaw showed great control of dynamics and intonation. This CD is yet another example that should be produced for today's and tomorrow's singers as a model of how to correctly perform choral literature. A worthy addition to any collection of Shaw/Parker collaboratins.

5 out of 5 stars Gorgeous!.......2000-06-23

For me, terms like "lush," "beautiful," and "gorgeous" are usually pejorative when applied to music, being most appropriate for describing Readers Digest boxed sets of dinner music. But there are always exceptions, and this is a big one. This disc is superb.

This was originally recorded in the late 60s, near the end of The Robert Shaw Chorale's reign as arguably the finest chorus in the U.S., and the arrangements are by Alice Parker, who I personally consider to be among the best choral arrangers since Bach.

There is nothing particularly challenging on this disc, but everything is just so well done. The interpretations are tasteful, never unduly bombastic or corny. Except for just a few passages, the a capella intonation is spot on throughout the entire disc (sadly, too much the rarity). And despite the somewhat limited tibral palette of an unaccompanied mixed chorus and the single genre of traditional Irish folk songs, this disc has not grown boring, even after repeated playings.

The sonics were a pleasant surprise, too. The sound is reasonably warm and clear, much better than I expected from late-60s RCA. BMG did cheap out on the liner notes, though. Nothing more than song credits and a cheesy stock photo of the shore. Otherwise, a great reissue.
