Chiqui Rodriguez / "Bachanato"


This gifted and incredibly versatile Singer and Composer won the hearts of more than one generation during the 80's and 90's with romantic Merengue hits such as "Primavera", "Toda La Vida" and "Tan Enamorados"; just to name a few, while singing with two of the best orchestras from Santo Domingo, Los Hermanos Rosario and July Mateo (Rasputín). In recent years, he has been working behind the scenes as the producer of a television show called Latin Beat which airs weekly on BET Jazz.

During this time he has also been studying multiple music genres, especially Jazz, Colombian Vallenato, and all sorts of Latin rhythms. His remarkable come back, enriched with renewed knowledge and experience, is marked with his fusion of Dominican Bachata and Colombian Vallenato that he has baptized with the name "BACHANATO"

I highly recommend this CD to anyone who love latin music.

Ricardo Pereyra has a strong and beautiful voice and sings most of Carlos Gardel's musics. He bring us back to the old days of Carlos Gardel. It also bring us back to the old Argentine days with the magnificent tango houses.

MR. Civera and The Little Little Boring Band.......2005-06-25

God.!!!!..Sorry but i have to say this: I can't stand listen the complete cd, cause is soooo boring, He try to be fun, but at the end this become to a "pseudo-tropical" latin party...Anyway, some tracks like " QUE LA DETENGAN" "AMOR DE HIELO" and "ROSAS y ESPINAS" can be fun. Buy it just if you're crazy...or if you are a huge fan of Civera.

Predictable and boring.......2004-06-17

How cliche'd can one get? This is pseudo-Spanish pop music. The music and lyrics are sooo predictable it's not even worth it. I was given this CD by some friends in Spain and it was totally forgetful. The one hit (Bye Bye) with its funny dance was good while partying in spain (being "happy" also helped). You're much better off by getting his singles...

Pure and simple fun!.......2004-04-17

I don't understand very much Spanish, but in music, the language of the lyrics are relatively unimportant. I find this album pure fun. True, on the occasional ballad David Civera seems a touch out of his element, but on the more uptempo (is it tropical?) cuts... watch out! Put this on, and play it loud (especially the track "Bye Bye"). This one's pure and simple fun!
