5 out of 5 stars BUY IT NOW!.......2006-04-26

AS both a reggae lover and a blues lover I was immediatly drawn to this CD.My favorite track is"Out in the rain....". A great mix of dub and blues.I literally wore the cd out,(the top part where it gets gripped at wore down). If you like blues or even trip hop, you'll like this.

5 out of 5 stars More than one expects.......2003-12-17

Little Axe is actually the core members of industrial-funk outfit Tack>>Head (who in turn play under a number of other guises; Strange Parcels, Videohead, and various On-U-Sound label appearances). They are also the original Sugarhill Rap labels house band and its members include Doug Wimbish (of Living Colour) and Keith LeBlanc (on the first NIN record). They are very ecelctic, and this is their dub-blues-asian subcontinental record. Mostly driven by fattened low end bass, slinky delta blues guitar parts and clean, crisp drum, it is augmented by a strong collage of sampled blues men along with original vocals as world beat flourishes, funk, and ambient electronica all thorwn into one coherent brew. A very low-key but sublime recording.

5 out of 5 stars Play loud, light a fire, dance.......2000-03-19

One of my favorite albums. Brilliant. Who are these talented guys and why is there only one album?

5 out of 5 stars A Must.......2000-02-14

It is hard to describe what I like about this CD. I borrowed it from the local library and after the first play though my reaction was 'what the ..'. I subsequentially played it eleven times on the same day and have never looked back. Blues is my love, and this album provides a view I have not seen before: dub blues with some great sounds and riffs.

5 out of 5 stars A keeper.......1999-06-18

I bought this in 95 and still play it regularly, (and I have thousands of tunes at home to chose from!) this blend of blues and ambient is absolutely brilliant, with bass that will knock you over. I don't know anyone who I have played this CD for who didn't fall for it immediately. Obviously put together by people who both know their music and love what they are doing.

This CD is very poor and I don't recommend buying it. I contemplated whether I should include this on my iPod just to completely transfer my entire library -- this is the only CD that I thought about leaving out!

5 out of 5 stars BEST CD EVER.......2005-06-07

Hey guys, real quick... if you are into this type of music this is the best cd u can possibly get. The remixes are amazing, my friends and I enjoy this CD all the time non-stop. I suggest it to any one who likes dance/club music

5 out of 5 stars GRAB YOUR WATER BOTTLES!!!!!!.......2004-10-03

You want a cd that will make you think it is 4am and you are downing poland spring water bottles or ripped force drinks like no tomorrow then this is it. This cd is non stop beats. It is a nice mix of old with semi-old with a little new. To like this cd though you have to be a club head, there is not that much vocals on here. However, as a big vocal fan, I can say that the beats will more than make up for the small amount of singing. The beat will really get the blood pumpin :) and everything is mixed extremely well. I am impressed at this cd as I can listen to it at 7:30pm on the way to the gym and get my veins pumped like its Sunday morning at Factory and I just started my weekend.

5 out of 5 stars definitely one of the top 3 I own.......2004-09-29

this cd sort of fell into my lap a few weeks ago, and ever since i got it i literally have not stopped listening to it. the tracks are amazing.. new songs are mixed with old classics so flawlessly its amazing. i seriously cannot find a bad song on this cd. if you were a frequent dweller of factory, exit, etc... then you definitely shouldnt go another minute without this cd. seriously, one of the best, if not the best house cd this year. it blows everything by louie devito out of the water. grab your straw and crank up the headphones.

4 out of 5 stars Blend of John Fogerty, Clifton Chenier & Stevie Ray Vaughn.........2004-12-23

Here's some real good rootsy Louisiana swamp blues...sort of a cross between John Fogerty, Clifton Chenier & Stevie Ray Vaughn. He sings with a southern drawl and he's a talented guitarist. Fun lyrics...this guy loves the ladies. Best seen at your local roadhouse with a bucket of Rocks and a plate of ribs.

5 out of 5 stars Great Stuff.......2004-06-19

This c.d. has remained a favorite of mine for years. Adcock is now the frontman in a band called "L'il Band of Gold" that kicks just as much butt. They have a cd out as well. I also heard he's coming out with another solo album very soon, but I don't know which label.

4 out of 5 stars swamp funk blues supreme.......2002-04-19

This is an excellent album that I never heard of before finding it in a remainder bin for a dollar. What a find! This is some low down funky swamp blues and rockabilly flavored blues rock. From the opening sound of crickets that explodes into some great dirty, smeared, belching, squawking, crying guitar work, sly vocals filtered through a low -fi microphone, and great back beats, every detail is catered to creating a funky, soulful swamp feel with occasional sinister undertones. Billy Bacon, who has some nice blues stuff of his own out, also plays on this album as does Classie Ballou, Jr. who I assume is the son of the great 1960's swamp blues vet Classie Ballou. Highly recommended-- one of the best of this genre. Wish this guy had more material out.

4 out of 5 stars Swamp Rock Deluxe.......2000-11-26

Imagine a cross of John Fogerty (of Creedence Clearwater Revival) and Stevie Ray Vaughn and you will get a rough idea of the steaming gumbo of Louisiana swamp rock brewed up by C.C. Adcock on this fine disk. Deep-fried blues rock with a considerable cajun twist played by a master guitarist and a gutsy vocalist. Probably the best recorded work of this genre for the decade of the 90s.

Album Description

Rock music without guitars -- Clatter, a two-piece band from Missouri, plays rock music on bass and drums, topping it off with female vocals. The songs are rhythmically mind-bending while maintaining a catchy, melodic feel. From all-out rockers like "Left Out" and "Starve," to tunes you want to sing along to like "Just Like You" and "Forgive 'n' Forget," there's something here for everyone -- even a song in Russian!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Look out X..........2004-10-20

You won't believe you're only hearing bass and drums. Good rockin' stuff reminiscent, to me, of X (especially on "Just Like You"). Excellent musicianship, lyrics, and vocals. Worth a listen!

4 out of 5 stars Guitar? We don't need no stinkin' guitar!.......2004-08-17

How to explain Clatter in a mathematical equation? Multiple layers of clean, distorted, and effected bass + acoustic and electronic drums and percussion + pink-haired vocals = tasty goodness. :-) The combination of Amy's split-signal bass and Joe's acoustic drums and triggered samples makes this duo sound far bigger than they've any right to be, and they write great songs to boot! I'd certainly pay good money to see them take out The White Stripes in a cage match.

I've owned this album and No Hats (Caroline Dahl's other album) for a year. They're both in heavy rotation on my iPod and still my favorites. Overall the sound is much the same as No Hats so if you like one you'll probably like the other. Night House has a somewhat wider variety of styles; the title track is more jazzy, there is a very nice waltz, and other tracks have accordion, fiddle, and sax.

bad boy joe is slowly but surely securing a name for himself on the dance circuit. when i heard "feel the drums" volume 1, i was absolutely blown away... volume 2 was amazing as well, and volume 3 doesnt disappoint. the beats are hard, the transitions are flawless, and the energy is hot. the "feel the drums" cd's are really the only ones that I can listen to, close my eyes, and feel like I'm back at Sound Factory at 4 am. 5 out of 5 stars Too Dangerous.......2002-07-05

First heard of Drum Club on an Ambient Collection and search Amazon.com for their album. Drums are Dangerous was the only one available and I thought I would give it a try.

The CD came, open it, heard it and wasn't too impressed and stuff it back into my shelf. 8 months later, took it out, dust it and played it again. I must say the second time round, it actually sounds good. Some hardcore drum beats interlaced with vocals and syns. Very engaging once you get into the groove (or should it be loops).

Have been playing it over and over again, and it keeps getting better each time once you pay attention to the tracks.

    Great stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Hardware is the MAN.......2003-06-12

My fiance bought me this album, knowing how much i LOVE Dj Hardware... his music just has that something special that rubs me the right way. the first cd is phenomenal, i listen to it over and over driving back and forth to school. the 2nd one is pretty dam good too. this album has a moody, sexy, rhythmic beat that will put a smile on your face Ga-ron-tee!! if you like this cd, i suggest you check out trance acid experience. it has the same mysterious attitude and beats that will just suck you in, with a little more action.

5 out of 5 stars HOW MUCH MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!!.......2003-03-17

I had never heard anything of DJ HARDWARE until I took a gamble and bought this cd. All I can say is, "how lucky can I get?!" The first track on this album sets the tone for the rest of the cd. For once, I have a cd that is balls to the wall energy from start to finish. "Let the Drums Speak" has a dark sound to it, but it also has a hard, trancy, energetic sound as well. It would be a BIG mistake not to have this album in your cd collection!!!

    5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable!.......2003-03-09

This CD kicks A** ! The DJ does not hide or keep aside any tracks exclusively for his live set in a club! he plays exactly what is phenomenal and catches any dance floor into a frenzy of pure bliss!!! Amazing track selection.
I recommend this CD to anyone who seeks EXCELLENT Trance/House/Tribal/u name it music!
