Parade (1998 Original Broadway Cast) [Cast Recording]
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
The big winners at the 1999 Tony Awards were revivals or old dance numbers recycled into new shows. Yet earning the most nominations, nine (and taking home two awards, for book and original score), was an honest-to-goodness new American musical by a young American composer-lyricist, Jason Robert Brown (who was 28 when the show premiered at Lincoln Center in December 1998 and was best known for his song cycle Songs for a New World). In addition, the subject matter is serious and dark, based on the true story of Leo Frank, a New York-born Jew living in Atlanta who was falsely accused of raping and murdering a young girl, and not surprisingly, the run was limited to 84 performances. The original cast recording survives, however, and from the stirring opening anthem, "The Old Red Hills of Home," Brown's score is full of riches, mixing period American styles with strong melodies, intricate counterpoint, selective dissonances, and natural lyrics that give their characters true, expressive voices. Leading the strong ensemble cast are Tony nominees Brent Carver and Carolee Carmello as the persecuted Leo and his wife, Lucille, who had been drifting apart before the wrenching events pulled them back together. They express their relationship in some of the show's best songs ("Leo at Work/What Am I Waiting For," "You Don't Know This Man," "All the Wasted Time"). Masterfully evoking scene and character through his beautiful, bouncy, or harrowing music, Brown depicts youthful abandon ("The Picture Show"), the city's hysteria, the tender memories of the girl's mourners ("It Don't Make Sense"), and the murder trial, including its fantasy scenes of false testimony. Parade is a powerful work that will long linger in your memory, and it's one of the most important musical theater releases of 1999. --David Horiuchi

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has alternately described his band's third album as "completely over the top" and "borderline psychotic." But even those words can't adequately prepare fans of the group's 2004 platinum major-label debut, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, for the onslaught of twisted song suites, glam-rock cannon fire and drama-club theatrics that make up The Black Parade. Tracks like "Mama" and "The End" make "Bohemian Rhapsody" sound like "Blitzkrieg Bop." It's no coincidence that the disc feels as dizzyingly monumental as Green Day's American Idiot--after all, the two albums share the same label, producer, studio, janitorial team, and sense of apocalyptic dread. Similarly, The Black Parade will cast its creators in a completely new light. Despite its overly histrionic tendencies and a totally oddball cameo from Liza Minelli, it offers a clear signal that My Chemical Romance is ready to be taken seriously. --Aidin Vaziri
Album Description
The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance's follow-up to its 2004 platinum major-label debut Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, "is way more dramatic, way more theatrical, completely over the top, borderline psychotic," says Gerard Way. "It's the most pure, intense thing we've ever been involved in." Producer by Rob Cavallo (Green Day), the album is a celebration of lvoe and death and darkness. Join The Black Parade.

Customer Reviews:
the best alternative cd i've heard in a loooooong time..........2007-07-16
i always heard people talking about how great that one band, "my chemical romance" was, but i never really cared. so i heard the song "famous last words" on the radio, and i was like, "who is this?" my friend told me it was mcr and i was like, "whoa, they're better than i thought they were!" i went on itunes and wasted a bunch of money downloading songs from this album like crazy. my personal favorites (in order) are "the sharpest lives", "teenagers", "dead!', "house of wolves", "famous last words", "mama", and "welcome to the black parade". anyway, this cd is really worth buying, and you should check out their other stuff, too.
By all means, welcome to The Black Parade!!!!.......2007-07-09
When lead-singer Michael Way called the album "psychotic", he wasn't kidding. Upon my first go-round with The Black Parade, I didn't get it. I sat there for a moment thinking, "Wait, what?" However, having listened to "Three Cheers...." and "I Brought You...", I knew better than to go with first impressions, so I listened to it again....and again....and again...and I'm still listening to it almost a year after it's release.
What a superb Junior effort by this group of alt-rockers (if that's the genre you choose to place them in). This album has a little something for everyone. I enjoy this albgum so much, I would love to write a review for each song on the album. However, that would prolong you from doing what you should be doing, which is listening to the album. Stop reading and start listening.
One listen and you'll hear influences ranging from Green Day to Pink Floyd to Queen. All superbly brought together with the brilliant musicianship of My Chemical Romance. If you're even remotely interested in My Chemical Romance, buy this album. And, even if you're not interested, buy it anyway. WOW!!!
One of the best albums that I've heard in a long, long time.......2007-07-06
I was driving home one night, and I heard this song playing on the radio. It was epic, big, and unlike anything that I had ever heard. My wife said that it was from someone called 'My Chemical Romance.'
I had heard of them, but I thought that they were some sort of punk rock band. I love alternative music, and hard rock. I grew up on it, however, I could never get into punk rock.
I mentioned the song to someone at work, and they said that they had the CD, and said that it was great, and that I should try it.
So I did.
I was totally blown away by this album! There's not a song on it that I would skip through. From the opening lines of 'The End.,' to the almost inspirational chorus of 'Famous Last Words,' My Chemical Romance brings an album with a wide range of styles that all seem to meld into on fantastic album. 'The Black Parade' is one of the all-time greats, and 'Disenchanted' near the very end of the album really stand out as songs that could stand the test of time.
This is an album that I could anticipate picking up ten years from now, and still like it as much then, as I do today. And THAT sort of album does not come along very often.
So I say, that if you like music, any kind of rock music, pick up this album.
big surprise.......2007-06-15
i heard amazing hype after this album droped. i mean magazines were saying it was awesome and my freinds dont get me started on them. so lo and behold i downloaded it and to my complete and utter surprise i LOVED!!! it. i thought bullets was overated and three cheers was meh but this one was on a whole nuther level. awesome anyone who is a fan of punk of goth oughtta pick up this album u wont be dissapointed
Better than I ever would have expected.......2007-06-14
Their first CD is raw. Their second CD is so emo even I get depressed from it. The Black Parade is as close to a masterpiece that any modern band has been able to achieve. Of course, this band borrowed quite a bit of the musical feel from the '70s. From infinite harmony parts to beautiful stadium-rock guitar solos (thank you, Ray!), this album just screams classic rock with a modern twist: Gerard's voice and a theme of death and agony. The comparisons with the Smashing Pumpkins that have been made are justified after this album: both bands disappoint their old fans in a wonderful, interesting way. With time, maybe those disappointed fans realize what a great new sound the band has created (or half-recreated, in MCR's case), but what is certain is that new fans will be brought along with the new sound. I'm one of those fans. I'm not a big lover of their earlier works--too sappy and boring and similar to other bands--but this album is really something. MCR are a rock band again, not emo, not soft punk, but rock.

Denis Leary's firefighter series, Rescue Me, is characterized by its delicate balance of brawn and sentiment. This CD, which collects tunes that have appeared in the first three seasons, reflects that balance, careening from the full-on rock & roll of the Von Bondies (their "C'mon C'mon" is the show's theme) and the Subways ("Oh Yeah") to the pensive, rootsy vibe of Ray Lamontagne ("All the Wild Horses") and the Devlins ("Love Is Blindness"). In his informative liner notes, Leary (who coproduces and cowrites the show in addition to starring in it) explains how he and his crew pick the songs they use. He doesn't really talk about how the songs reflect the show's take on masculinity, but the selections speak for themselves: There may be wives, girlfriends, or daughters, but Rescue Me is essentially about men. Which is perfectly fine, though it may explain why those who like to hear female voices once in a while (the Subways' bassist, Charlotte Cooper, does pipe up) are advised to look elsewhere (at one of the L Word soundtracks maybe?). --Elisabeth Vincentelli
Customer Reviews:
Doesn't rock.......2007-03-09
Outside of the main title (C'mon, C'mon), this CD is nothing but slow whiny depressing stuff. Was expecting a little more aggressive music. Oh, well, guess that's why IPODs sell great.
Great Mix of Tunes.......2007-01-05
Loved the TV series and always made notes of the music. Now the soundtrack is
out with a superb choice of songs. It's in my car; great traveling music!
Overall, pretty good........2007-01-03
I gotta say, just about every song on this CD is catchy. I loved hearing most of these songs on the show, but getting to hear them in their full length is even better. Whoever picked these tracks has a good ear for what fits with the mood of the show. That said, this is one of those CDs that's good to pick up and play now and again, but can get old pretty fast. Still worth the money though.
One of the best soundtracks ever.......2006-11-10
I love the show, and the soundtrack is just as good. Like the show, the music is a little dark, but great.
Rescue Me.......2006-11-06
I'm normally not an indie rock fan, but I've always been a fan of the music on the show. This soundtrack is awesome--it's eclectic and powerful and I honestly couldn't stop listening to it for over a week in the car.

Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

Timeless Disney Music.......2007-05-07
Nothing brings sweet recollection of Disney movies like hearing the wonderful songs. In an age where there so much music with no redeeming qualities, these Disney CDs are priceless. Wonderful for the entire family to listen to around the house or in the car while traveling. We can't help but sing along. We love that these are the original tracks from the movies! Wonderful! We now have all three volumes.
Disney songs are the best.......2006-03-18
I love the songs on this volume. I'll Try by Jonatha Brooke is such an amzing somg. I especially bought this CD fort that song but, was pleasantly surprsed by the rest of the playlist.
Great Disney Music.......2006-02-21
I have bought the first 2 volumes of Disney's Greatest Hits and the 3rd volume doesn't disapoint. My 2 young children love to listen to this CD and talk about the movies that they come from. A definate must have!
Not as good as Vol 1 and Vol 2.......2005-09-11
This Disney CD represents the "leftovers" that didn't make it on Vol 1 and Vol 2 of this series. Although it has some of my favorites, I don't listen to the entire CD often. Disney could have done a better job of editing the which sound files should make the cut on this one. Still, it's nice to have all 3 CDs.

A Long Time Ago..........2007-01-12
I bought this CD to play at work for background music and it's great for that. The only thing missing is the usually obligatory 20th Century Fox theme before the main Star Wars theme. Other than that, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus do a very fine job with Maestro Williams' music, indeed.
Spectacular!.......2007-01-12
I thought this cd was excellent! I bought it as a gift for my brother, who is a huge Star Wars fan, and he loved it. The music reminds me of the best parts of the movies. I think anyone who is a fan should get a copy.

Very disappointing, considering what it could have been.......2007-04-20
Take a look at the running times:
Disc 1: 60 minutes
Disc 2: 50 minutes
Disc 3: 61 minutes
Disc 4: 58 minutes
What gives Silva? There is *MUCH* more John Williams in the silva screen back catalogue by the Prague Philharmonic than what is in this set, and thats not including their entire discs devoted to Star Wars Films, Indiana Jones Trilogy etc. Why isn't Hook "When You're Alone" included on Disc 2? There's room. Why isn't 1941 on Disc 1? There's room. Why isn't Earthquake on Disc 3? There's room. Why isn't Far and Away on disc 4? There's room. Where's the other ten minutes of the Rare Breed suite on disc 3? Why isn't Midway on disc 1? Where are the Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel and Lots In Space tv themes? Etc. Etc. Etc.
C'mon Silva, most of these 4 disc mega boxes released in the past few years are packed to the brim, but not this one, and with new recordings made after this was released (the terminal, munich, geisha, war of the worlds, star wars ep 3, harry potter 3), it only makes sense for a "re-do" in the next couple of years.
Further, with Silva releasing the 100 Greatest Film Themes on six discs in a couple of months, it's only a matter of time before we see the ultimate six disc john williams set.
This isn't a BAD set to own, but it could have been much better and when compared to the Jerry Goldsmith and John Barry sets in this same series, this one is a major letdown.
Always a pleaser.......2007-03-31
I listen to music all day with patients in my dental chair. This one is a winner with everyone. Patients always comment on how they recognize a song. Who doesn't love John Williams? His music transcends time.
JOHN WILLIAMS 40 Years of Film Music.......2007-01-10
This 4 cd pack is an anthology of all John Williams works. From his earlier works "The Poseidon Adventure" and "Jaws" right through "Indiana Jones" and the most recent"Star Wars" prequel movies are included. Williams work in thriller and horror are also included. If you are into soundtracks and love movie music this is an essential buy. The quality of the music is excellent. With ten or more tracks on each cd it's well worth the money.
Movie Music Magic & Memorabilia.......2006-12-13
This four CD set expands on the previously released John Williams Greatest Hits. It's a grand collection of nearly four hours of famous music scores from over forty years. There are many songs never before available in any collection. The short liner notes tell a great tale of musical movie history and include all of his numerous award nominations and wins. Each song (oddly enough) mentions the actors and the director, so fond are John Williams's memories of his work with these people. All of the conductors are mentioned along with specific orchestras, choirs, arrangement and orchestration specialists and even the publishers (contractual, I am sure). The only things missing are his early television scores, such as those for "Lost In Space" (by Johnny Williams back then). But with four discs, one has nothing to complain about and everything to enjoy!
John Williams: 40 Years of Outstanding Film Music.......2006-11-28
I have been a huge fan of John Williams and I have known about his music for years. However, I never actually bought any of his music on CD. I was rather skeptical about purchasing this CD but when it arrived I knew I had made the right choice. The sound quality of the compilation is outstanding. The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra do a great job under the direction of Paul Bateman. The original London Symphony Orchestra CDs of John Williams' Star Wars Trilogy CDs are marginally better but this is still a great CD compilation. If you love ET, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter, you will love this compilation soundtrack. Buy it, listen to these CDs in the car and enjoy every minute of the collection!!!

Album Description
With so many labels and so many CD's, you'd think it would be easy to find all the top hits from the fabulous 50's. Not so! To remedy this musical misfortune, Hit Parade Records inaugurates their new year-by-year CD series with
Hard To Find Jukebox Classics 1956. This exciting, audiophile-quality disc is bulging with 24 classic pop, vocal group, folk, and early rock 'n' roll hits. All these platters made the Top 40 - sixteen hit the Top 10, three made it all the way to #1 - but just try and find these terrific songs today!
Hard To Find Jukebox Classics 1956 includes eight songs never available on CD till now, including Fess Parker's "Wringle Wrangle" (#12), Dorothy Collins' "My Boy - Flat Top" (#15), and the stereo single version of Morris Stoloff's #1 smash, "Moonglow & Theme from 'Picnic'." Others, like the Cheers' tragicomic "Black Denim Trousers" (featuring Bert Convey) or Tony Bennett's rapturous "Can You Find It In Your Heart " are very difficult - if not impossible - to find on CD these days.
Hit Parade Records is a new Canadian label dedicated to finding, restoring, and preserving lost treasures like these. Exclusively distributed in the United States by Eric Records, Hit Parade employs many of the same creative folks who lovingly compile those great Eric CD's - including Greg Adams, whose detailed liner notes with biographies of all the artists will fascinate you for almost as long as the full hour it will take you to listen to Hard To Find Jukebox Classics 1956! And, don't miss Hit Parade's other great collections, Fabulous Fifties Divas and Fabulous Fifties Crooners as well as The Complete Original Hits Of Georgia Gibbs.
Customer Reviews:
Agree!.......2007-06-18
I agree with previous reviewers, but would like to emphasise that most of these tracks are probably rare. So often oldies compilations mine the same vein, and the same songs reappear over and over again. The vast majority on this comp are new to me, and there is very little overlap with the contents of the Time Life Hit Parade series disk for the same year.
I hope there will be more volumes forthcoming :)
Another gem .......2007-05-15
Once again Eric/Hit Parade records has produced another great CD. As always the sound quality is superb and the liner notes complete. As always there are lots of, as the title says, Hard to Find great songs from the fifties, in this case specifically 1956. While many of the songs are top tens there are a couple of lesser rated gems such as Wringle Wrangle by Fess (Davey Crockett) Parker and My Boy-Flat Top by Dorothy Collins. Highly recommended.
Total Bliss!!.......2007-03-13
I didn't realize just how much I missed some of these tunes. My Boy Flat Top by Dorothy Collins and Wringle Wrangle by Fess Parker (TV's Davy Crockett) were both boyhood favorites. The sound is as fresh and clean as I've ever heard on 50 year old recordings. You also get Green Door by Jim Lowe and 21 others to help take you down memory lane. Thi CD is a must for those of us on the leading edge of the Baby Boomer generation.
A veritable smorgasbord of hard to find mid-fifties pop favorites.......2007-01-25
Hats off to our friends at Canada's Hit Parade records. They have come up with real winner here!! "Hard to Find Jukebox Classics 1956" features two dozen of the most pleasing pop tunes from that era. And many of these songs are appearing on CD for the very first time! In all cases these are the original hit recordings you would remember from the radio. No disappointing re-recordings on this one! Even though I have been a collector for more than 40 years there were still 7 or 8 songs on this disc that I did not own!! For me, this collection was a real find.
"Hard to Find Jukebox Classics 1956" features hits by some of the premiere vocalists in American popular music. Enjoy once again Vic Damone's splendid recording of "On The Street Where You Live" from "My Fair Lady". That one always sends chills up and down my spine! One of the big hits of 1956 was Bing Crosby's duet with Grace Kelly. "True Love", featured in the motion picture "High Society", went all the way to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of that year. I was also extremely pleased to find a pair of hits by Tony Bennett that have been out-of-print and virtually impossible to find for decades. "Can You Find It In Your Heart" and "From The Candy Store On The Corner To The Chapel On The Hill" were both big sellers that year. If you enjoy that rockabilly sound then Chuck Miller's Top Ten smash "The House of Blue Lights" will certainly float your boat. And fans of group harmony will appreciate tunes like Somethin' Smith and the Redheads recording of "It's A Sin To Tell A Lie" or the Highlights "City Of Angels". For me, perhaps the biggest surprise in this collection was the remarkable Jerry Lewis recording (yes, that Jerry Lewis)of Al Jolson's 1918 hit "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody". I cannot imagine that Lewis was much of a singer, but his voice proved to be perfect for that song. While I have always been aware that this tune hit the Top Ten back in '56 I had never heard the song before nor had I ever seen the 45 rpm record.
I could go on and on but suffice to say that if this is your kind of music then you should grab this one immediately. It has been my experience that collections like this tend to have a fairly short shelf life so if you procrastinate you may miss out. "Hard to Find Jukebox Classics 1956" features a very informative 12 page booklet featuring photos and biographical information on many of these artists. Simply stated, this disc is a joy to listen to. Very highly recommended!!!

Customer Reviews:
Children's Favorites a solid purchase.......2006-03-09
This CD mostly delivered what was expected of it. The only critique I have is that some of the tempos could have been cleaner, and that it should be cross-referenced by the other composers besides J. S. Bach.
The perfect package.......2005-10-23
This is the most wonderful collection to have on 1 CD. Children from birth on up can benefit from this musical collage.
Songs from the "Nutcracker" are familiar and comfortable for many children. What child wouldn't love "March of the Tin Soldiers?"
Selections from Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals" is a must in my creative movement library. Every child should be exposed to this music. Well,I believe every age should be.
A Wonderful Introduction to the Classics.......2003-03-11
With total playing time clocking in at 78:04 minutes of music, you'll be paying about 6-cents/minute, which is a better bargain than long distance phone calls, and often more rewarding!
This disc is far superior than most other "Classics for Kids"-type recordings I've sampled for a number of reasons:
1) This album was expertly engineered. The production quality on this disc is first-rate from start to finish with crisp, clear sound.
2) The pieces were expertly picked. There is wonderful sonic variety here, spanning hundreds of years of wonderful melodies. There are orchestral pieces, harpsichord pieces, solo piano, and a piano concerto, capped off with Saint-Seans whimsical Carnival of the Animals. What kid (or adult) wouldn't love that?
3) The performances are, without exeption, expert! The pieces were definately screened for quality as well as content. Many are simply a joy to behold. Walter Klein is a particular stand-out, almost giddily prancing through Schumann's pieces. Believe it or not, he sounds even more impressive when backed up by the always inspiring Minnesota Orchestra on Mozart's Piano Concerto #17.
In short, this album is a great album even before you factor in the great price. You and your children are almost guaranteed to enjoy every 6-cents worth!

I Love A Parade review.......2006-07-27
After being at a summer spectacular event where the fireworks were coordinated with upbeat "march" music, I set out to find a CD that contained similar songs. I found "I Love A Parade" to be the prefect solution. The Boston Pops are great to begin with and this collection of songs is no different! I have it in the CD player and have it playing in the background when we have BBQ's or dinner parties and people always ask where I got it! Bottom line, it's a fun, upbeat collection that reminds us of simpler times and what it means to be proud of our country!
The Boston Pops does it again!.......2004-08-10
If you like the sounds of American music at its best then this is the C.D.to own in your collection. The Boston Pops has 16 of the best march tunes around on the c.d. From 76 Trombones to the Liberty Bell March to The Stars and Strips Forever, this is a highly recommended C.D.! Enjoy!
Great music.......2002-02-17
If your looking for fun music to listen to to this is the cd to get. I play the trombone and its fun to listen to these great players.
If you want to get into a happy mood, listen to this cd!.......2001-01-10
As a former high school and college marching band member, I remember playing many of these marches, and listening to them done by the Boston Pops is fantastic. I love the arrangements. I bought a tape of this cd on impulse, and now I plan to buy the cd for myself and another for one of my brothers. I have been listening to it every time I get in my car. Marches really do make most people feel good, I think. I would recommend this to anyone.
If you love patriotic music, this is your cd.......2000-07-25
As far as a patriotic cd goes, this is one that you will probably want to kill for. Just kidding! This is a great selection of patriotic music. The orchestra gives a great performance of these masterful songs. I personally rather listen to beautiful romantic love songs than patriotic songs, but this music is an important part of American history and i think we need it.
I WOULD LUKE WARMLY RECOMMEND THIS CD

The Limited Edition special packaging features an 11-11/16" x 5-13/16", long skinny box with hinged lid, wrapped in black velveteen material, with a debossed design on the top. The 64-page bound paperback book inside the box is modeled after a Victorian-style photo album, and contains Gerard's drawings, making-of-the-album notes, and more.

Another whiny album .......2007-06-13
NOTE I DON'T HATE EMOS BUT COME ON, DON'T YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO SAY OR WEAR ,OTHER THAN PAIN OR BLACK ! Anyways the music is good ,gives you the feel of The Sex Pistols and the Hard Punk Pop Rock feel .What kills It ,is the Girl voice of Gerard Way that Fu****cks Everything up .And the whining lyrics .DON'T BUY THIS IF YOUR NOT EMO ,And If you are emo your a proud fan :::)
Should get 6 stars and have come out before the album.......2007-05-24
Love the "fuzzy box". You get the Black Parade album (explicit-tho the "clean" version is really not) and an in-depth booklet journey into the minds and madness from writing the album at the haunted hotel "The Paramour". Some of the songs are explained by various group members. We see into the thoughts of a very cool band on top of their game doubting themselves on the eve of a tour explosion in 2006/7-they did not see the overwhelming response it would bring around the world. Wish it had been released first or I had known about the collector set first-now I have 3, yes, 3 Black Parade CD's (original-which is now scratched to pieces from overplay, fuzzy box CD & "Clean" version which I still can't play at work. Get the box-definitely.
Worth 200 million stars.......2007-04-07
My Chemical Romance is by far one of the best bands out there, and this album proves it. You can see how much this band put into their work and how empowering everything is. I have this limited edition version of the Black Parade and it is amazing. The extra cards are so cool and the booklet is hard to put down. Then there's the cd...oh the cd. It's one of the best cd's I own and it really shows MCR's growth.
The End- A great opening that shows you just what to expect in the other tracks
Dead!- One of my favorite MCR songs ever. It has a great beat that never gets old
This is how I Disappear- Amazing song, It sounds really cool towards the end
The Sharpest Lives- I love this song! Great lyrics and also a good beat
Welcome to the Black Parade- This is the definition of a rock opera. It has all sorts of different parts to it that makes it so epic.
I Don't Love You- Such a sad song, watch the music video and see how emotional Gerard Way (the lead singer) is. so sad! (I love Gerard!!)
House of Wolves- Another of my favorite songs, it is so energetic and lively!!!
Cancer- Also sad, not one of my personal favorites but it is a really beautiful song
Mama- A different song, but still awesome. It sounds so cool...enough said
Sleep- Very, very sad. Especially when you hear a man at the end say "I can't even wake up." *tear*
Teenagers- The chorus of this song is so addictive. It's a song that make you want to get up and jump around...
Disenchanted- Yet another sad song with a little bit of a faster pace. I can't describe this song really, just listen to it...it's good.
Famous Last Words- WOW!!!!!!!!! Most definately the BEST SONG EVER!!!! My favorite song by MCR!! In the lyrics, music, and video they are really giving it there all.
Hidden Track: Blood- A hilarious song that has sort of the music style like Mama in a way.
My Chemical Romance is an amazing band. At first I hated them, thinking that they were just some Green Day wannabe's because they dressed like them and now had the same producer. But I never listened to them and I was so0o0o0o0o0o0o0o wrong. They are totally different in a good way, and I love both Green Day and My Chemical Romance. They have incredibly enchanting lyrics and riffs that just blow me away. They are not emo, or goth. They consider themselves punk rock or simply just rock for the most part. Don't judge them before you listen to them with an open mind. Just listen and you'll see....
The Black Parade.......2007-03-14
The box is larger than expected. The CD has an extra song not stated in the list of songs.
Great Day for a Parade.......2007-02-21
MCR has done a fine job channeling Queen through a Green Day megaphone. Kudos to these Jersey Boys for showing that relevancy doesn't mean you have to abandon the past. Derivative, nope; (re)inventive is probably a better way to describe this solid album. The special edition packaging is pure brilliance. The pseudo-daguerrotypes and the graphics accompanying the lyrics add to the overall feel of the album and are as integral to the album as the music itself. Black Parade demonstrates that MCR is more than a gothic token act for the TRL crowd. Bravo.
