David Gurland

Editorial Reviews
David Finkle, "The Village Voice"
"Short and compact as a beer can, he comes at a song from such an oblique angle that the Police's 'Every Breath You Take' sounds like a stalker's confession. A performer with that much edge bears very close watching"

Barbara and Scott Siegel, "In Theatre"
"It's said that Cabaret is less about vocal excellence than quality of interpretation--but look out when someone offers both. In other words look out for David Gurland, a tenor with an arresting sound and a provocative way with a lyric...he's as thrilling as any singer in town"

5 out of 5 stars Gurland is great, and his CD sizzles!.......2002-03-24

I have three words for anyone reading this review: Buy David's CD! Gurland's tenor voice is sweet, tender and astonishing. He interprets the hell out of every cut. Think you've heard Sting's ''Every Breath You Take''? Gurland turns it into something dark and dangerous, and dynamite! This rendition is alone worth the cost of the CD. But Gurland also goes gospel with ''Accentuate the Positive'' and does a fantastic new tune called ''You Should Know'' by Tom Andersen and Tim DiPasqua. This CD is a must-have for all pop music lovers.
