The Rocky Horror Show (2000 Broadway Revival Cast) [Cast Recording]

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com's Best of 2001
The movie version of The Rocky Horror Show has turned into such an enduring cult success that it has pretty much obliterated the fact that it all started with a stage show. And now Richard O'Brien's musical is back on stage, where some say it truly belongs (it was nominated for the category Best Revival of a Musical in the 2001 Tony Awards). With a great cast that includes Dick Cavett, Alice Ripley (Janet), Tom Hewitt (Frank 'N' Furter), and Daphne Rubin-Vega (Magenta), the revival fires on all cylinders. Note that while Joan Jett was in the cast as Columbia, she's not on the CD (Kristen Lee Kelly is). But Lea DeLaria, last seen stealing the show in On the Town, more than compensates by playing both Eddie (Meat Loaf in the movie!) and Dr. Scott--and doing great by both. As a bonus, the song "Once in a While" is back after being cut from the movie. Bursting with energy, this recording brings the rock back in Rocky. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Don't have the time (or the props) to watch the whole movie? Just put on the soundtrack--it's got all the best parts without the dialog in-between! Well, isn't that what an Original Soundtrack Recording like this is supposed to be? Back in the mid-70s when The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a midnight staple at countless movie theaters, Tim Curry wasn't yet "Tim Curry" and Susan Sarandon wasn't yet "Susan Sarandon" (hell, Barry Bostwick wasn't even "Barry Bostwick"!). Listening to these science-fiction double-feature showtunes will take you back through a time warp to the days when the now-Academy-Award-winning actress was perfectly willing to stand around for most of a picture in her bra and panties--and so would her boyfriend! In those days, they were just Brad and Janet, forced to spend a dark and stormy (also sexy) night in the haunted house of mad scientist Frank N. Furter--just a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania-ha-ha who really knew how to belt out a song. Those were the days. --Jim Emerson

Its Rocky Horror.. any fan would be singing along and wanting to jump out at stop lights and do the "time warp". Brings back such great memories of throwing rice and newspapers.
now Im teaching my teenagers and Time Warp.
Time to pass it on.
Thanks for the great service and fast shipping.

5 out of 5 stars Sing Along, Dance Along, Enjoy Life!.......2007-03-10

I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Talk about a classic that shows off Tim Curry's vocal talents. Susan Sarandon is equally stunning in her role as a sweet, naive girl who grows a bit wild as the movie rolls on.

The basic premise of the movie is that it's a send-up of all the classic 1950s horror films, complete with a mad scientist creating his own monster, and the sweet innocent couple who bumble their way into this all. Toss in the wild 70s style free-love, space aliens, cross dressing and some truly classic lines, and you can see why this has become the favorite of many people.

Just about every song in here is one that you have great fun singing along with. The lyrics are great. The vocals are great. Tim Curry really has a fantastic voice that you have to hear to believe. You not only want to sing along with the songs, but get up and dance too! Then you have the sweet, harmonious songs too, the ones that really connect with your soul.

It definitely helps to see the movie a few times, to understand the great visuals that go along with the song - but once you've got that down, play the CD in your car, while you do your chores, or while you're getting work done! It makes the time fly by, and leaves you upbeat and enjoying life.

4 out of 5 stars A Guilty Pleasure.......2007-02-12

I can't help but love this movie/soundtrack. It's fun, silly & extremely entertaining. Give it a shot, you might just like it!

this cd is great! i received it in under a week. i payed less than half of what it cost elsewhere.

5 out of 5 stars Midnight Movie.......2007-01-09

Even though the days of Rocky Horror being the midnight movie every Saturday night are gone, it is nice to re-live that era occasionally at home. Adding dialogue is still fun, but unless you have the carpet cleaner scheduled for the next day you better leave it at that!

Another installment of the Cult Show That Will Not Die, the 25th anniversary edition of the Rocky Horror soundtrack has, of course, the kinds of things one would expect of an anniversarial edition. These include previously unreleased tracks and a CD booklet that attempts to explain the inexplicable: how character actor Richard O'Brien's little slice of weirdness became such a hit that, a quarter of a century later, it's a Broadway production once again. Even today, there are people out there being, well, exposed to the phenomenon that is Rocky Horror for the first time, and the reaction is always the same: either utter enchantment or utter mystification. There's no denying that the show has a certain appeal. Creator O'Brien has called it "something any 10-year-old can enjoy," and maybe that's the secret: something about Rocky Horror's barely controlled insanity connects with our inner children. Maybe it's Tim Curry's magnetic performance. Maybe it's the music. Maybe it's '70s nostalgia. Whatever the reason, Rocky Horror has proved that one need not be mainstream to become an icon of popular culture. While the images and ideas contained therein might hardly turn a head today, there's nothing else like it that's quite as much fun. --Genevieve Williams

3 out of 5 stars Close, but not quite there........2007-03-28

This album is so close to being a worthwhile release.
I don't regret buying it, because my copy of the soundtrack was the older release on tape.
I'm very happy to have the otherwise unreleased songs on this album. The sound quality is good, but not especially noteworthy.

But the dialogue clips are insufferable. A soundtrack album is supposed to be the music, not an "album of the movie." These clips drastically decrease the likability of this recording - that and the missing end of Planet Shmanet.

There's also the plus that those silly remixes of the Time Warp are absent. And splitting up the Floor Show music sequence is a real plus.

1 out of 5 stars PAGES WERE WATER STAINED AND WAVY.......2007-01-30

I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF THE BOOK OF MUSIC I RECEIVED. THE PAGES HAD OBVIOUSLY GOTTEN WET AND DRIED, SO THE BOOK WAS ALL OUT OF SHAPE. WHEN TRYING TO COPY IT TO MAKE AN EXTRA ONE FOR MY ACCOMPANIST, IT CONSTANTLY GOT STUCK IN THE MACHINE AND IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THE COPYING DONE. THIS BOOK WAS IN TERRIBLE SHAPE AND I WASTED A LOT OF MONEY TRYING TO COPY IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I WILL NEVER NEVER BUY A USED COPY AGAIN AS A RESULT. I LEARNED MY LESSON, BUT THE SELLER OF THE BOOK SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR MISREPRESENTATION.!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars ALMOST Complete.......2006-10-28

I am glad this came out but wish that the 1 minute missing of Time warp was in here and the You're a hot dog part of Planet Schmanet Janet.

KUDOS: For including Planet Schmanet Janet (albeit in edited form) I love the beat on it and love the part where Riff Raff and Magenta are laughing and he tells her to shut up.

I think the reason I like the movie (Which I consider more of a Rock Opera than a musical) is the music. Although some of it is better with the pictures it goes to, The songs are great for random singing. Whoever the session drummer was on this was really good as well. Nice fills. I actually enjoy the movie and dislike going to the theater to see it.

Unless you want an idiotic remix of Time Warp, this is the definitive (for now) version to get. We complain but come on, you don't think at some point they won't do another anniversary edition?

Mr. O'Brien, if you read these sites, I heard you wanted to do a sequel, PLEASE DO! just give us more groovy music, be in it and bring back some of the characters from the first one and I'll see it!

3 out of 5 stars havent got it yet.......2005-10-20

looks like a great cd i have another rhps but doesnt have a few of the songs nor does it have a booklet to go wtih it.

as for the people who dont know where the song super heoreos goes is when the castle takes off and u see them on the ground. The crim.s line and "crawling on the planets face some insects called the human race lost in time lost in space" is the last verse. (yes the line was off the top of my head i've wtched a few times too many)

the once in a while song i havent figured oput yet where that goes.

4 out of 5 stars Fond Memories.......2005-08-04

This CD is great. It includes more than just the music from the movie. It has some of the dialogue as well. It also includes a song that was not in the actual motion picture, but it is a nice addition. Anyone wanting to be able to remember going to this midnight movie would truly enjoy owning this CD.

Not the original artists. Very weak versions of beloved songs by marginal to downright bad vocalists.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty good musical mix.......2006-03-10

Lots of great and clear vocals. I was looking for a musical mix and this has a nice sampling of many major songs but also some more recent stuff. I haven't purchased an import before but I would do it again if the opportunity presented itself. It is somewhat annoying to have three cds when I think it could have fit onto two. Still, more than I have complaints, I have compliments about it.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite cast recordings.......2007-01-17

This was the first Rocky Horror album I've ever listened to besides the movie soundtrack. Despite the lack of Joan Jett as Columbia and the 2nd Usherette, this album is sweet. Daphne-Rubin Vega is perfect as Magenta. And Tom Hewlett 's interpretation as Frank N. Furter is just in sync with the character. But he's still no Tim Curry. And the rest of the cast is sublime. And with Dick Cavett as the Criminologist and famed lesbian comedienne Lea DeLaria as both Eddie and Dr. Scott is just excellent.

5 out of 5 stars Thougt You Were The Candyman Didn't ya freggy!.......2006-06-22

I thought that this was gonna be just another edition of the Rocky Horror Show. But boy was I wrong.I loved it they really modernized and gave it more of a Rock flavor than in the original play which was more pop.I just loved how they had the Overture and Space shipa partof the cd.They really recreated great for broadway. When i heard that broadway was doing Then Rocky Horror Show I didn't know what to think.Because Rocky Horror had been an off-broadway show for many years. The thought of it being onBroadway was just amazing Because people back in the 70's and 80's always thought that The Rocky Horror Show was much too trashy to be put on Broadway.Because you always think about broadway plays as being classy and eligent. They didn't want a play about Sex and Horror and Gay Transvestites. But this was just a head turner.I loved it.It's definitely 5 stars. The cd quality was great. It was so professionally done and it was great.I think any RHS Fan will love it.This was no candyman!

4 out of 5 stars The Rockiest Recording to Date.......2006-06-07

This 2000 Broadway revival of the cult classic THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW boasts a completely re-vamped orchestration of Richard O'Brien's score. This is certainly the most rock-fused version of these songs to date, and right from the "Overture" the listener can assume this. Many may not be able to accept this harder, bolder score and I myself am a bit skeptical, considering the more piano-driven and sci-fi sounding orchestrations of the film soundtrack or Roxy cast recording. However, it is so interesting to hear these songs done like this that I cannot help but enjoy it. The performances are half-and-half. Daphne Rubin-Vega belts out the opening number in that great gravelly voice she has, and Raul Esparzza sends chills down my spine every time I hear his two great solo moments ("The darkness must flow down the river...." and "Frank 'N' Furter, it's all over..."). Sebastian LaCause is amazing as Rocky, as thankless a part that is. Eddie and Dr. Scott being portrayed by a woman (Lea DeLaria) is one of the strangest casting decisions ever and is too distracting to be able to even listen to her (his? I don't know!!!) songs: "Hot Patootie" and "Eddie's Teddy." Tom Hewitt does his best as Frank 'N' Furter, but the character was so well defined by Tim Curry in the film (one of the most underrated performances ever) that one can't help but ignore him. I'd say that this recording is something every ROCKY HORROR fan should listen to; it just all depends on whether you like the new or original orchestrations.

3 out of 5 stars Good recording, bad show........2006-03-10

Rocky Horror is an American institution. It's indelible, unforgettable, and entirely unique. But without the audience participation, the show is revealed - it's simply not very good. It's a passable (if dated) parody of '50s B-movies with a transvestite main character and some halfway decent songs. The show lives with and dies without an audience. The lyrics, the characters - nothing is half as fun without the audience throwing and shouting and bantering right along.

That said, this is a VERY good recording of what's there. Tom Hewitt does as good a job as anyone trying to fill Tim Curry's sequined heels, and brings some nice twists to the table instead of going the Curry-imitation route. Raul Esparza as Riff-Raff is electric - his rendition of "Time Warp" is unlike anything else you're likely to hear on a cast recording. He blasts it right into outer space, screaming like the world's going to end. Daphne Rubin-Vega is plenty of fun as Columbia, giving a nicely sinuous and raw-edged sexiness to the role. The orchestra gives their all to the new arrangements, and they sound crystal clear.

It's definitely the best recording of the show available, even sans Tim Curry.

3 out of 5 stars Oh Daphne!.......2005-12-29

Most of the reviews have it right here - this production wasn't really Rocky at it's best. That being said, I must say that Daphne Ruben-Vega as magenta is probably one of the most interesting, refreshing, and note worthy things about this recording. Very cool in that regard.

2 out of 5 stars redux.......2007-07-06

Four of the songs on this CD (Oklahoma, Music of the Night, Cabaret, and All That Jazz) were on the earlier Ultimate Broadway. Of all the shows that have been on Broadway over the past 70+ years, including the ones that are currently running, there is no excuse for repeats!

3 out of 5 stars Moderate Quality.......2003-06-20

I believe that the show selection for this CD was excellent. However the song selection and song order were not. Why pick "Your Daddy's Son" from Ragtime when you can have the amazing and fantastic "Prologue" from the same show. Also I believe that a mistake was made by slecting "I Don Quixote" from Man of La Mancha instead of the much more listenable "Impossible Dream." Also the overture from Gypsy is not the proper song to start out a CD. Perhaps the "Overture" from The Phantom of the Opera.

This is however an excellent example of showtunes for inexperienced members of the theatrical world.

2 out of 5 stars POOR EXCUSE FOR SOME GOOD THEATER MUSIC.......2003-05-20

The best of Broadway? Sure, if you consider the best of Broadway only those songs taken only from RCA Victor cast recordings. Expect the expected: Tracks from "Ragtime," "Chicago," "42nd Street" and "Man of La Mancha," sung by the likes of Audra
McDonald, Bebe Neuwirth, Jerry Orbach and Brian Stokes Mitchell. Including a live recording of Barbara Cook warbling "Losing My Mind" from her "Mostly Sondheim" CD isn't exactly kosher. But then again, neither is this gimmick-riddled release. Curtain up?
Half-way, maybe. Light the lights? Dim them, please.

5 out of 5 stars The Rocky Horror Show: Original Roxy Cast (1974 Los Angeles Cast).......2006-09-13

Having been exposed to the original Roxy cast version at about 12 by my mom (who actually saw the play 8 times at the Roxy. . . amazing) I have been a RH ran for virtually all my life. Hands down this version is the best musically. I'm reading some of the other reviews that slam this version as being less musical and poorly arranged. R U F'N CRZEE????? The Roxy v. has WAAAY more musicality from guitars to piano and horns, not to mention having all of the original script actually sung. . . and not spoken. The vocal lines are so much more dynamic and lyrically sung than the movie. For the recrord. . I LOVE THE MOVIE ! !! I went for years to the Tiffani in Hollywood on Saturday nights and saw the midnight showing. Those of you in LA know what I'm talking about. SOOOO COOOOOOLLLL SO I'm not here to bash just to illuminate a diff point of view to some of the other reveiews. Listen to them all and decide for yourself. For me. . .this one is just a step to the left ! !

When you compare the gritty original 1973 London Cast recording to this pulled together, yet equally gritty 1974 roxy cast, you can't help but get a tear in your eye, seeing you're, and so many other Rockyheads, baby all grown up, and doing just fine.

So much was improved upon it's almost perverse!

Considering this was the second Rocky recording of it's day, it was exciting to get all of the songs , save Science Fiction Double Feature Reprise, whichf or whatever reason was cut. Not only that but you get a great cast. Tim Curry returns for his definitive Frank which has a rawer edge in this recording, and the supportig cast wonderfully fills some shoes, especially Bruce Scott as Riff-Raff, who proves you don't have to be Richard O'Brien to take Tim Curry prisoner.

And Meatloaf as Eddie AND Dr.Scott? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?! He's fantastic! This dual role should have been carried over to the film version it's simply incredible!

I'm having Joygasms just thinking about this album. cracking, extreme, great, massive, monstrous, monumental, overwhelming, prodigious, severe, stupendous, towering, tremendous, best, best ever, cat's meow, delicious, excellent, far out, first-class, first-rate, like wow, marvelous, primo, sensational, superb, unreal, admirable, amazing, astonishing, astounding, awe-inspiring, awesome, brilliant, cool, divine, dynamite, enjoyable, excellent, extraordinary, fabulous, fantastic, fine, groovy, incredible, magnificent, marvelous, miraculous, outstanding, peachy, phenomenal, pleasant, pleasing, prime, remarkable, sensational, something else, staggering, startling, strange, stupendous, super, superb, surprising, swell, terrific, too much, tremendous, unheard-of, wondrous, ace, attractive, best ever, cat's pajamas, choice, commendable, cool, copacetic, crack, crackerjack, daisy, deadly, deserving, dilly, doozie, dream, estimable, excellent, exquisite, fine, gnarly, good, great, greatest, groovy, heavy, hunky dory, keen, laudable, mean, meritable, meritorious, neat, peachy, praiseworthy, rare, smashing, solid, spiffy, super, super-duper, superior, unreal, valuable, wicked, wonderful, worthy, amazing, astounding, bewildering, breathtaking, extraordinary, impressive, marvelous, miraculous, spectacular, staggering, startling, striking, stunning, stupefying, stupendous, wonderful, wondrous and anything else the Thesarus has to offer!

5 out of 5 stars How I came upon the 1974 Roxy cast.......2005-10-31

I got this one by mistake, although I loved it. The magenta(Jamie donnely) played Jan in the movie Grease. Bruce scott was an excellent Riff-Raff. Abigale hanness is not a singer. She dosen't sing she screeches. Tim curry of course was wxcellent as usual. Meatloaf is still and will allways be Eddie the ex delivry boy. This recording is great, but the cover that I got for it is different from the one amazon.com is advertising. The one that I have has a scared Colombia screaming. This cover is actually the re-issue cover of the cd because this cd was re-issued just like the movie soundtrack.Rember the movie soundtrack the first time it came out,it had everybody's faces on it but hen the re-issue came out and it just had Frank sitting on the lips. If you look clossly on the re-issue of the movie sondtrack you can see Colombia,Rocky,Frank,Brad,And Janet.

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as the movie sdtk, but does have Kim Milford.......2005-09-30

FIRST OF ALL- AMAZON HAS THE WRONG COVER PHOTO FOR THIS ALBUM. THE CORRECT ROXY COVER HAS AN ILLUSTRATION OF COLUMBIA'S HEAD (NOT LIPS!!!)...Anyhow, if I had to choose between this Roxy recording and the movie soundtrack- I'd pick the movie soundtrack. The arrangements on the Picture Show sdtk are better, Richard O'Brien is riff-raff, the songs are tighter, it's just better overall. HOWEVER, the reason I purchased the Roxy version was to get Kim Milford's version of "sword of damacles" (the song isn't on the movie sdtk). Why didn't they put Kim Milford in the movie version?? (God rest your soul, Kim). The guy they used in the movie couldn't even sing- they had to dub his voice!? Anyhow, the Roxy version also has a pretty good version of "planet shmanet janet" which also isn't on the movie sdtk. But to me, the movie sdtk is the DEFINITIVE recording.

5 out of 5 stars The best and only one you need........2005-04-05

This is so superior to the film Soundtrack it's almost crimminal.
One playing of Time Warp will sell you on this.

I always thought the film was terribly made, but it's also terribly second rate musically.

5 out of 5 stars chelsea girl.......2006-03-31

This is the only authentic theatrical rendition of RHS as it was originally intended. There is none of the 'belting it out' of the Roxy version, and later versions lack subtlety and drama.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible,terrible,terrible.......2005-10-30

I'm a RHPS fan, but this cd lacks that true rhps quality. Tim curry,Richard o'brien,Patrcia quinn, and little nell were all better in the movie. There were 5 people in the band and all of them in this recording have bad voices as in the movie they have better voices.

5 out of 5 stars "Raw"cky Horror.......2005-08-20

For whatever reason the original 1973 London Cast is my favorite recording of The Rocky Horror Show. When you think about that Cast Recording, infamously recorded in one day, is truely horrendous. The orchestrations are amteurish, and the performers are more enthusiastic then trained, but it's just fun, and I take it over any polsihed and finetuned or even complete recording ( a staple for me when it comes to cast recordings) anyday.

However, all that aside, I think the reason I like it so much is because it has, for the most part, the cast which I'm glad to call definitive. That would be Tim Curry as Frank, Richard O'Brien as Riff Raff, Pat Quinn as Magenta, and Little Nell as Columbia, and having John Adams as The Narrator dosen't hurt either (he's fantastic). I was first introduced to that lot in those roles when I saw the film, and I suppose I find comfort in that they were all equally represented in their roles on stage, from the begining.

The quality of it all really adds to the experience for me though. Somethign about small scale Off*13 Broadway productions always gave me chills of excitement, the idea of a band of nobodies coming together to put on a show with little or no budget but a lot of spunk and that's what this cast has - spunk. I true, raw understanding of it all, and I love it.

3 out of 5 stars Classic, Great Gift For Any Rocky Fan.......2005-07-05

This is a great CD, if you like and understand musicals, especialy if you have seen and fell in love with The Rocky Horror Show. It's also a great gift for fans of Tim Curry, like me :). Yes, the movie sound track does rock out better, and if you're a fan of the movie more than the show than yu'd like the movie soundtrack better, but if you're a hardcore fan of Rocky, then this is a must have.

5 out of 5 stars ROCKY HORROR IN THE FLESH!!!!.......2005-04-30

This is where it all started, kids. Tim Curry in his first version of the role of Frank N Furter . Believe it or not, Frank N Furter was BLONDE for the stage role in London! It sounds so cheezy, yet you want more of it. The music itself is even more low budget than the film, but its just enough for the london stage to make it absolutely fabulous. SCIENCE FICTON/DOUBLE FEATURE is better here. Much faster and more upbeat with Little Nell singing it in a different tone....

I would give anything to see video of the original london cast in action. Its the beginning, of a cult classic. Other Rising star in this, Christopher Malcolm, who later plays Saffron's Father on BBC's "Absolutely Fabulous"

    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Thrills, Chills, and Fullfillment at last...........2006-10-08

This CD is excellent. It has recordings of all the songs from Rocky Horror, but exactly as it says-minus the lead vocals. The music is exactly the same as on the soundtrack/ in the movie, not some cheesy cheap midi sound. The lyrics are included in the book inside the case, to help out virgins to the songs. However, some of the choruses are not repeated, etc, which may be confusing to some, but anyone with half a brain can figure it out. I'm really pleased with this product because the quality of the music (and background singers) was far better than I thought it would be. Definitely worth the money if you enjoy singing along to your RHPS soundtrack.

However, some people have been lead to believe this is a karaoke CD, which it definitely is not. It will not display lyrics should you try and use it for this purpose. I'd just like to point out to all of those people that nowhere on the CD description does it say karaoke. Nowhere. However, I'm sure if you end up buying this CD, then you're probably already a fan and don't need the lyrics :D

Specifically, Time Warp and Science Fiction are my favorites on this CD. But like I said, all of the song sound great, and that I cannot stress enough. It can be a little confusing knowing where to begin in some parts, but it fits the original soundtrack so closely that you only hae to listen to it a few times before figuring it out. Wonderful, fantastic, and full of absolute pleasure!

    5 out of 5 stars Not for "virgins" . . ........2006-08-05

If you don't already know the songs forward and backward, you may find this CD disappointing or frustrating, unless you enjoy a minor challenge. Use the RHPS soundtrack for training, and then test your chops with 'Sing It!' The original music cues are all there, and even some backing vocals, so it's also great for RHPS troupes. If you need lyrics on a screen or just want to goof off with your friends, find a nice karaoke set of standards and don't go near any strange castles at night.

    1 out of 5 stars Not a CDG.......2005-06-12

This "Karaoke" CD does not display lyrics. I am so disappointed. The music is not enough of a guide as to when and what you should be singing. I don't think this should be listed as a karaoke CD when it isn't a CDG. This is only an audio CD minus vocals.

5 out of 5 stars You have been singing along for years: ready to go solo?.......2004-01-12

Yes, you read it right, this is "The Rocky Horror Picture Show: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Minus the Vocal Leads." That means you can now be Riff Raff doing "Science Fiction/Double Feature" and "The Time Warp," Dr. Frank N. Further singing "Sweet Transvestite" or "I'm Going Home," or Janet Veiss (sorry, Weiss) doing "Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me," or Brad Majors (a**hole) doing "Once in a While," which was cut from the finished film (happy to have it, but the orchestration is not as good as what was on the original London cast album). There is another song that was cut from the film, "Planet Schmanet," plus extra verses in "Frankenstein Place" and "Sword of Damocles," so be on your toes people. Keep in mind that all they took off were the vocal leads, so you still have the hired help doing the "Oh Brads" and "Janets" from "Dammit Janet," the chorus work on "Over at the Frankenstein Place," "Time Warp," and the rest.

Now, I know that it would be wrong, a very bad thing indeed, but listening to this you are probably going to start having visions of getting your friends together and putting on your own performance of "The Rocky Horror Show." Then again, you might not have enough friends to carry it off, so that might be a problem. But if you have been signing along with "Rocky" for the past couple of decades, whether in the privacy of your own home, in the audience at the midnight show, or even up in front of the stage decked out in your black stockings and matching garter belts, then this is your opportunity to go solo. Are you going to imitate Tim Curry and Meatloaf from the cinematic performances ingrained in your brain, or are you going to strike out on your own and create your own version of Frank and Eddie? Anyhow, this soundtrack minus the lead vocals album is a great idea, perfect for "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Maybe it will catch on and one day we will have similar soundtracks for "Evita," "Moulin Rouge," "Chicago," and classic blasts from the past like "The Sound of Music." About time we had some high-class karaoke albums.

5 out of 5 stars The Rocky Horro Picture song---Time Warp.......2003-12-11

The Time Warp song is the best song that I love in the whole world. If you ever go to Six Flags St. Louis in Fenton, MO they have a musical play called Love At First Fright during only in Fright Fest in October. They do sing the Time Warp song, too! I get to dance the Time Warp song with them this year 2003! Cool, huh! My musical e-mail address is thebeatlesfantanya@yahoo.com and/or tanyajanwatanagool@yahoo.com I love to have friends who loves the same song as I do.
