A Child's Celebration of Broadway is a tasteful treat for grownups and almost-grownups in addition to being the typically kid-friendly fare brought to the listener by Music for Little People. The classy compilation, rather than being made up of chirpy, dumbed-down renditions, is composed of music from the original cast recordings of such beloved shows as Oklahoma!, The Music Man, and The Sound of Music. Mary Martin brightly sparkles, singing numbers from both Annie Get Your Gun and Peter Pan, and the ever dear Julie Andrews contributes a duo as well, including the classic "The Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music. With a particularly heavy emphasis on Rodgers and Hammerstein, noted composers in absence are Rodgers and Hart, Sondheim, and Porter.
