I Won't Forget You

Editorial Reviews
From the Artist
I selected the songs for "I Won't Forget You" because of their beauty and the way they touched me. From my perspective, each of the songs has a connection to either; the joy of living with my parents, the loss of my parents or the process of learning to live without them. From a universal standpoint, the songs deal with love, loss and lovely days. I hope that my renditions of the classic songs I've selected will move the listener in some special way.

Album Description
"I Won't Forget You" is both poignant in its reverence for the memory of lost love and joyful in its celebration of the simple things in life. A collection of Hollywood musical standards and Broadway show tunes, Lori Puleo's long awaited CD pays tribute to the memory of her parents by combining heartbreaking ballads- like "I'll Forget You", with uplifting affirmations on the sweetness of life- like "Cheek to Cheek." If you've ever lost someone that you'll never forget, "I Won't Forget You" is an album that will appeal to you. It evokes sadness over our losses and the bittersweet fact that the people we love remain with us in memory ("You Keep Coming Back Like A Song"). The album also exudes optimism in that there is still so much out there waiting for us when we return to life ("Before the Parade Passes By" and "Second Time Around"). The Lennon/McCartney track "Across the Universe" and the Harburg/Lane song "How are Things in Glocca Morra" set moods of tranquil reverie, transporting the listener back to an innocent time when all was right with the world- before love was lost.

I Won't Forget You

I Won't Forget You, Music, Lori Puleo, Clear, earthy vocals bring poignancy and joy to Hollywood standards, Broadway show tunes and the Beatles in a cabaret style.

    1 out of 5 stars Not impressed.......2003-11-25

I was not terribly impressed with this CD. Fortunately, I decided to get it from the library to see if it was good before deciding whether or not to buy it.

Although the orchestration of the songs is well done, most of them simply were not meant to be performed by a chorus; and they sound terrible in that form. If you want some of the songs on this CD, I suggest you look at one of Disney's compilation CDs in the Classic Disney Vol. 1-5 series or the actual soundtracks of the movies.

    5 out of 5 stars Inexorable wonder!.......2001-06-23

Where to start?! Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra have had a track record for recording some of the most stupendous movie music ever. Magical Musicals is just another example of how audaciously bold, yet beautiful Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops have taken the original scores, molded them into the same pieces, yet at the same time, creating life of their own in each and every note. If you are looking for ANY soundtrack containing Disney music, this should be the first CD you listen to. There are others out there, and yes, they may sound beautiful and enchanting, but you won't find such a unique and compelling score anywhere else other than this CD. Check it out!!

i brought her previous cd just by instinct, but it was strange that i like it so much, many songs inside i like, and one is a cover version from my country singer, so its really close to me ! therefore, i buy this brand new cd immediately when available, also, there's cover version from the same singer, anyway its nice but not good as last cd i think. really desire to her new songs, and her own written songs. reccomend: snowflakes

    5 out of 5 stars I Won't Forget This CD.....EVER!.......2000-02-12

From the opening notes of this CD to the very end, Princessa packs quite the pop punch throughout. I must admit, I bought this CD on Amazon only because I had read an article about her and the fact that she had done a remake of Saint Etienne's "He's on the Phone". I figured that NO ONE could ever possibly mess up the greatest dance tune ever recorded. Well, much to my chagrin, "He's on the Phone" is not included on this particular CD, but.....producer Frank Petersen and Princessa have crafted one of the finest pop albums I have heard in quite a long time.

I simply don't understand what it is about European music that has always attracted me. The chord progressions and melodies and hooks are always so catchy and hummable unlike most American music. Princessa records for a German label but seems to be Spanish herself. While she sings with just a slight accent, every song on this album could be released as a single and make it just fine. The title track, with it's acoustic guitars and beats sticks in your craw. I was singing the chorus with her the very FIRST time I heard the song. Even the ballads have great melodies. "A Better Man" and "I was Wrong" are excellent ballads where the melody and Princessa's voice and phrasing contribute to the emotion of the songs.

This release uses a combination of live drums and drum machines for the beats, of course keyboards make a lot of the sounds but on alot of the songs the electric guitar play an integral part of the song. It took me about two listens to find the "groove" for the songs on this CD. The first time I heard her voice, I was reminded of a young Madonna (as far as the "nasal-ness" of it....you know what I mean....I mean Madonna doesn't have that "sound" to her voice anymore.)

If you are a lover of GREAT pop music, then this is the CD for you and is WELL worth the price!

4 out of 5 stars Enchanted with Ms Puleo.......2000-04-27

I thoroughly enjoyed Ms Puleo's CD. Her first song "You Keep Coming Back Like A Song" is very moving. It is both passionate and melancholy. It stirred up in me a wealth of emotion. She immediately switches to a song which is very perky with "Cheek To Cheek." The song "Before The Parade Passes By" is guaranteed to inspire and uplift as it is sung to a marching type of song. Switching to a blues type of song is "The Man That Got Away." Ms Puleo sings it in an earthy, warm and tender style that is sure to touch the hearts of every listener.

      5 out of 5 stars Lori Puleo's Debut CD A Delight!.......2000-04-18

Ms. Puleo has one of the prettiest voices on today's cabaret scene, and it's shown to full advantage on this CD. Her "How are Things in Glocca Morra" is so lilting and melodic that it may just become the definitive version. She clearly had fun recording these songs and her "Cheek to Cheek" and "Stuff Like That There" are downright infectious. Her choice of material pays homage to the great composers of American popular music, but she also does a knockout rendition of The Beatle's "Across the Universe", displaying the versatility of an artist with many influences. Lest you think this CD is all frivolous fun, take note that she's dedicated it to her departed parents. Then listen to "You Keep Coming Back Like a Song" and "I Wish You Love/I'll Forget You" and feel the emotional wallop.

      5 out of 5 stars Calling You.......2000-04-11

I haven't been able to buy the new album CALLING YOU. Some one tell me where can I buy it please.

      5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......1999-11-03

Princessa's work is quite simply breath taking. Produced by the earths greatest (shared maybe with Michael Cretu) producer, Frank Peterson, this CD includes the classic 'Once in a Lifetime', as well as Brian Kennedy's 'A Better Man' and Saint Etiennes 'He's on the Phone'. Also lots of original great material.

4 out of 5 stars I RATE IT 4 STARS. BECAUSE HER LAST ALBUM IS DIVINE........1999-10-15

I love all the " Sandra Family Productions ". I mean all the musicians who related with her and came from the same source. If they can be found in Taiwan. Unfortunately they're pretty rare. So I support Frank Peterson even though he has no longer cooperate with Michael Cretu since 92. And because most of the Taiwanese speak and listen to Mandarin. The record company won't invest their budget in foreign artists. They promote some Japan or several U.S. & U.K. idols. Pay few attention to Euro singers let alone promotion. I know the sales of Sandra albums are O.K. not bad without any advertising here. They neglect her on purpose? And I haven't seen her MTV for so many years. Less than 10 times before 92 as I recall. She could've became big hit if I'm in charge of this case. I'm seeking similar style of music , by chance.

Till I find Princessa " Calling You " album this year. 18 great tracks on it. Though there're only 12 melodies plus 6 extra Spanish version. ( That's quite enough ). You don't feel repetition but love them as well. Surprisingly Sarah Brightman sings backing vocals for her and co-written 3 songs with Peterson. And the whole album is totally Sandra style. So sorry I didn't found Princessa earlier. Because her debut Spanish album is out of print in Euro market now. ( And never been released in Taiwan ).

I feel a little bit disappointed about this album. They choose guitars as main instruments instead of keyboards just meant to be hard, loud, and flat. Mostly they belongs to two type of music : Pop-Rock and nice Ballad. So vaguely the essence of Sandra remains this time. ( I've got the reason to believe lots of Princessa fans came from Sandra's ). Most of the songs composed by Meissner & Schwarz. Title song is just O.K.. The most impressive and my favo is " It Just Begun ". I personal feel the prelude resembles to " Send Me An Angel " an 80s dance hit by " Real Life ". " The Way The Story Goes " is a new adaptation from " Only An Ocean Away " by Sarah Brightman. 50% are the same. The 3rd remake of " Once In A Lifetime " from Gregorian to Brightman. " I Was Wrong " and " Tell Her " are pretty good. All in all, I'm still prefer " Calling You " album, It's a masterpiece compare to the new one. Go find it if you can.

      5 out of 5 stars Brilliant.......1999-10-08

The catch is that the whole album is nice, so it's not like ya're just buying the whole album just because that particular song is there. In another word: the album is brilliantly super, I simply wuv it & recommand it highly
