This collection of songs is Robert & Robin's eighth album. Contemporary and traditional Christian songs with great backing vocals by top studio singers make this a great album for anyone. Track 3, "Not Too Far From Here" is the touching song from the memorial service for the Oklahoma City Bombing victims. Track 9, "Put On Christ" has a unique pop/gospel feel. Track 10, "How Can I Keep From Singing" is a beautiful duet by Robert & Robin that features their blending vocals that people enjoy listening to.

He is One of "The Irish Tenors" and his Soaring Voice was Brought to American Audiences Via Public Television. Following the Recent Passings of Both his Parents, it is Perhaps Logical that Mcdermott Would Would Be Inspired to Do an Album of Faith Based Songs. That Notion is Fulfilled with the Release of this Disc of Standards and Inspirational Songs to Give Comfort and Bring Joy to the Faithful Among Us.

This CD in my estimation is less than one star. It is very ordinary - reminds me of an average church choir. Very plodding. I bought it as a Christmas present for my wife. After listening to a few songs, she asked me if we could return it. Wish we could.

I was first introduced to John McDermott on the Irish Tenors DVD. I love his Irish accent and of course the songs that he sings on this CD are all so well known. Wonderful CD

This CD has given me such joy. John McDermott is one of my favorite artists. He gives such depth to these beautiful songs. I have listened to this over and over, and have given it to many of my friends as gifts. You will enjoy this for years, these songs stand the test of time. I hope he records more hymns like this in the future.

Inspiration, Indeed!.......2004-02-10

The subtitle of this John McDermott release is "Songs of Inspiration. Regardless of one's religion or spiritual bent, I think everyone will find this to be a very true statement. Starting with the Cat Stevens gem, Morning Has Broken, and ending with an absolutely glorious rendition of the Lord's Prayer, this CD just proves that John is getting better all the time. The arrangements are lovely and, as always, the musicians are the cream of the crop. The harp of Erica Goodman is prominent on some of the songs especially The Lord's Prayer and she has a gift for that instrument like no other. The CD starts on a high note and ends on an even higher one. John's lush tenor soars to the rafters and you just don't want the CD to end. It's THAT good! John sings the lovely Jerusalem, the Holy City on this CD and it's been more than worth the wait. His part of this song on the Irish Tenors Home for Christmas CD was only a tease. Here is John doing the song solo and it's a marvelous version. Lord of the Dance and Amazing Grace have you singing along. John starts Amazing Grace a cappella and that voice is just so beautiful. By the end of the song, it has a gospel sound that has you smiling and lost in the words and melody. When going through some very tough times this past year, this CD became a friend that helped me through them. One can always depend on a John McDermott CD to bring beauty and joy into their life. This one can help heal as well. It is perfection!

Better buy several copies.......2003-05-30

We could hardly wait to get this release as John McDermott has been delighting family and friends for years with his music. On this album, he has recorded an inspiring mix of treasured hymns and comforting contemporary spiritual songs. Beginning with "Morning Has Broken," John's second offering is "Shelter Me" The heartfelt lyrics sung with great tenderness and understanding just release the tears. Mom is still thrilled over "Abide With Me" while my other favorites include "How Deep the Father's Love for Us," "My Forever Friend," "Be Not Afraid," and "Lord of the Dance." As always, I have also learned from John...he has recorded SIX verses for "Amazing Grace" So as I said, better buy several copies. You will want your loved ones to have their own copies, so you won't have to stand guard over yours! You're going to need one for the car, too. Traffic snarls are much more bearable when you're harmonizing with John.
