Eric Woolfson's Best with Alan Parsons sound & musicians.......2006-08-10
When a long-time association like the one Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson have kept for so many years, which have produced a list of very good Symphonic Rock albums ("Tales Of Mystery and Imagination- Edgar Allan Poe", "I Robot", "The Turn Of A Friendly Card", "Eye In The Sky" and others)... Why to split it apart? "Freudiana" may be the best concept effort from Eric Woolfson, but the music (and its amazing sound quality) is 100% "Alan Parsons-ish". I expect you guys to make up your minds to work together again, and make another wonderful album like this one!
The power of two.......2005-12-05
"Freudiana" is the proof of how talent can come from the collaboration of two people, who afterwards cannot reach separately the same peaks of creativity.
Even though the latest works signed as "Alan Parsons Project" ("Ammonia Avenue", "Vulture Culture", "Stereotomy" and even "Gaudi") were not as good as the early ones ("Tales of mistery...", "I robot", "Pyramid",... until "Eye in the Sky"), they are far better than anything done by Woofson and Parsons separately.
"Freudiana" was written nearly complete by Woolfson (usually known as the "architect" of the "AP Project") and is a really superb work. I goes from progressive rock to operetta without losing a high level of quality. It is really a must, much better than the 4 previous works of Woolfsons & Parsons.
After "Freudiana"... it was never the same.
I did not even bother to listen to the latest Alan Parsons' work ("A Valid Path") because "The time machine" was so dull...
And I have not been able even to track Eric Woolfson's solo works, apart from some musical based on old songs from the project.
So, Eric and Alan, would you please make friends again? Or you are too rich to stand old friends?

APP Plus.......2005-09-11
This is a fantastic album. Yes it was made for a play/theatre and most Americans will pass it by as it's not pop and hip enough and the radio stations would have laughed and been scared all at the same time and that's too bad for all of them and good for those of us who appreciate great Parsons/Woolfsons music but with Woolfsons and Parsons in on it together it is as usual outstanding, top notch music going into Siggy Freuds life a bit and his beliefs.
The album can be hard to get into but I bought this back in the early 90's when it was even less known here in the U.S and after the 1st listen was hooked. It was a foray into the diff. and somewhat unknown and brought off as one of the best music Parsons and Woolfsons has done. Highly recommended.
Also for those that think AP "lost it" after Woolfsons left you're very wrong. The 3 albums since Woolfsons left are just as good and in some cases better than with EW for those of you that think EW was the backbone of the APP.He was a key but Alan is the main glue. "Try Anything Once" is possibly the best "Parsons" work ever. The fact only one song was played on the radio from it is shame as about half the album could have been hits its that good, but the fact that Freudiana never got radio play in the U.S especially is almost as tragic.
If you never seen APP play live you've missed a real treat. Ian Bairnson has got to be one the best guitarists I've ever seen and heard. Think Gilmour, Clapton, Hendrix, he's every bit as good, I kid you not. Go buy Freudiana. You'll love it.
"The Unkown Project" .......2005-02-02
Just wanted to share my comments about Freudiana, what a truly outstanding album. For starters thank's for the internet, without it I would have never know about this "Unkown Project". This CD should have been released here in the States, but what else is new, the only thing that get's release here is "POP" music. I don't ever listen to the radio because of the garbage that's being played! I believe Freudiana would have done well especially if people would have know who released this CD! Just my thoughts. Any ways my favorite track is "Upper Me" this is truly Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson at there finest, from the APP intro tidbits to Eric Stewarts vocals, this is truly a remarkable song. It should have been on there "Greatest Hit's Collections". Thanks again for a truly remarkable album. Highly recommended it to all who really appreciate music. Thank you
