Very Best of Billy Vaughn purchase.......2007-06-27

This is a very good quality of CD with reasonable delivery time for international purchase. But I think the price is little bit too expensive and the delivery time can be improved.

Brings Back A Lot Of Memories: One Of A Kind! .......2006-12-23

Whenever I hear Billy Vaughn and his Orchestra, it reminds me of the 1960's, and my childhood. Billy Vaughn was a staple in my house: One of many, many different styles in my house. However, it was his music that I really recall because it was such a happy sound. Whenever I hear 'Sail Along, Silv'ry Moon,' a smile comes over my face. So many wonderful memories. This DVD, while not complete, is only a sample of his music, and I urge others to search his music out. I have quite a large collection of Billy Vaughn's music, [mostly on LP]. Most of the LP's I have of his are in fairly good shape, however, I have been able to find his music [LP's] in record stores and thrift shops for a buck or two. I recommend his music.

Billy Vaughn was one of the most popular music arrangers in the 1950s and 1960s. Apparently he had more pop hits than any other orchestra leader during the rock and roll era. He made many of the pop hits popular during his time into an orchestral version. [Many of them good!] Among some of the hits on this 2 Disc CD, are "Swingin' Safari," "Sail Along, Silv'ry Moon," "Paloma" and "Isle of Capri." Once again though, I would recommend searching out his LPs, and if you see ANY of his CDs, to grab them up. I have seen less and less of his music in recent years. My favorite LPs are "Red Sails in the Sunset", and "Sail Along, Silv'ry Moon. I highly recommended the wonderful music of Billy Vaughn. And when you hear his music just relax, have fun and enjoy the sounds.

I had been haunting music stores and collectors for the last two years, looking for CDs or tapes of Billy Vaughn. Many of his songs stand out in my mind but mostly it was "Shifting, Whispering Sands" that I really wanted. The rest are icing on my cake but what an icing it is! Superb.

As a child of 12, I first heard Billy Vaughn's music, and I collected many of the LP's he had out then. I was so facinated by the man and his music that I wrote him a letter in care of, I think, DOT records at the time. And guess what he did? He wrote me back a wonderful letter!!!!!!!!!!! I still have that wonderful letter from him after all these years!!!!!!! Thanks again, Billy!!!!!!!!!!!!

BEST BILLY VAUGHN COLLECTION AVAILABLE ON 2 CDS!.......2003-04-06

I have many of these greatest hits on lps and waited impatiently for a CD release. Because Billy Vaughn had big hits in Latin America, South America, Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Germany and the US among other countries, it is definitely a feat to include just 50 of his most popular on a 2 CD collection. This collection was originally aimed at the German market. Yes, there are some HITS missing including US and German hits but those are available on other CD collections. Some of the tracks are in mono but that is because they either were not recorded in stereo (Sail Along Silvry Moon, Melody of Love, Raunchy, etc.) or a stereo master is not available. The greatest thing about his collection is that many of the cuts were previously available only on 45 rpm singles.

This is the best introduction to the most successful studio orchestra of the rock n roll era.
