If you're a Tom Jones completist, you'll want this. Otherwise...you're better off with another album. The sound quality of this CD isn't that great - either because some (all?) of the recordings are live, or because it was mixed badly. There's a flatness to the sound.
As for the performances, when Tom is singing an up tempo country/pop song, he sounds pretty good. I Love A Rainy Night, for instance, is bouncy and enjoyable.
However, when he's singing straight country songs, he sounds lost, as if he can't decide *how* to sing a country ballad. The slower country songs are just a little boring. His version of He Stopped Loving Her Today, for instance, is just bland - it can't compare to the original.
So, I'll give this three stars, because Tom's voice is its usual smooth greatness, but only three stars, because the quality of the CD and Tom's delivery aren't that great.

Ladies and gentlemen, once again, we declare:
Honestly, this guy has to be the most underrated singer of our time. No, it's not unusual at all, that when Tom Jones opens his mouth to sing, powerful perfection usually follows. I saw him on TV on his BRAVO special several years ago, and believe me, he's STILL a powerhouse!! He absolutely puts today's pop "singers" to utter shame. Now in his mid 60's, he's truly blessed not to have had some trace of declining vocal prowess by now. By all means, purchase this, or any CD by Tom, sit back, and enjoy....Thanks for reading, Ant
