Editorial Reviews
Album Description
Depending on your age and point of view, you will view this, Julies last LP for the Liberty label, as a "Golden Throats"-style camp classic or a soft pop gem. But its actually both; for as weird as it may sound for the sultry, intimate vocal stylings of Ms. London to tackle such fare as Louie Louie and Light My Fire, she really does pull it off! Of course, this was one of those harebrained schemes by late-60s record executives to increase her sales by having her tackle "the now sound," but arranger Tommy Oliver and Juliewho could have been insulted by having to sing the title track alonebring an adult sophistication to even the cheesiest of fare. As a result, record collectors of 60s lounge music have a very, very special place in their hearts for this 1969 album, and we proudly reissue it here on CD with original art and new liner notes. Another one-of-a-kind Collectors Choice Music exclusive!

Love it for the car.......2007-06-08
My 2 year old loves this CD. We always have to listen to The Wiggles in the car. We have many Wiggles CDs and rotate them over and over. If you have a Wiggles fan, this CD is great.
Fantastic songs.......2007-03-31
My daughter loves to shake her egg and sing fruit salad song over and over again. It's a hit in our car.
Must have for the Wiggle fan!.......2007-01-19
My son is 2 and loves this CD. It has all of his favorites. He especially likes the pirate song!
Great kids songs!.......2007-01-16
This is a wonderful CD and great to dance to as well. My daughter loves the songs and can't stop singing them. It's great for long car trips.
OVER AND OVER.......2007-01-11
My son watches this DVD over and over. We dance, we sing, and we laugh. It is a great way to spend quality time with your youngster. He is 18 months old and knows most of the words to all of the songs. I even bought the soundtrack!

What a Hoot!.......2006-04-20
I was glad to see this cd of Ohio Express. It brought back many fond memories. They have that very distinct bubble gum sound all us fans love. The cd is very well made and the sound quality is terrific. The cd is also inexpensive.Ohio Express was popular back in the 60's to early 70's and had many hits. There are 14 of their popular songs on this cd and they are as follows.....1)Yummy,Yummy,Yummy 2)Sweeter than Sugar 3)She's not coming home 4)Gimme,Gimme 5)Chewy,Chewy 6)1,2,3,Red Light 7)Down at Lulu's 8)Sausalito 9)Pinch Me 10)Mercy 11)Lucky 12)Firebird 13)Nothing Sweeter than my Baby 14)Nighttime. My Favorite was Yummy,Yummy,Yummy. My 25 year old daugther was brought up listening too the Ohio Express and now she loves them too. They were and still are great in my eyes.A very upbeat type of music with that good old fashioned Bubble Gum twist.Listening to them will make anyone smile. How could you not?.....:).I recommend this cd very highly.
Ohio Express Fan.......2006-04-17
This CD has fantastic sound. Too bad more songs weren't included.
Kim Coopers liner notes are great. Especially like the pictures on the Cd cover. The Mansfield, Ohio guys are a nice bunch of men. It was too bad they were jacked around. Musically they still perform as the Ohio Express, with Tim Corwin and occasionally Doug Grassel.
Also check out the Website www.bubble-music.com. It's really a great site for us bubblegum fans. Also check out Joey Levine's 2005 Bubblegum Achievement Award. That was in Los Angeles last October. What a cutie!!!!!!!!!!!
I would highly recommend this CD to all Ohio Express Fans.
A couple of classic songs, some interesting filler..........2005-09-17
Haven't bought the Collectables disc yet, but on the basis on this disc, The Ohio Express weren't exactly interchangeable with 1910 Fruitgum Co.--they were inferior. Is it because of the songs selected for this package or the material the band was originally issued? A garage band who got "discovered" and then chewed up by the heartless music biz, Ohio Express became a faceless musical outfit, a name to stick with a song, and the only evidence they had promise as an early outfit comes with the evocative, self-penned "She's Not Comin' Home" (one of the very best tracks). I don't know why "1,2,3 Red Light" is here--there's no discernible difference from the 1910 Fruitgum version, and the liner notes don't explain why this is so (I always thought of it as a Fruitgum song). "Chewy Chewy" has a really sophisticated, Phil Spector-ish arrangement and is this group's crowning achievement (although "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" actually charted higher), but the last few songs offer absolutely nothing. B-
More R&B Influenced Than The 1910 Fruitgum Co........2004-12-30
another group that i found all the singles in the three for a dollar bin. lot of single versions not included here, such as Chewy Chewy, Down At Lulu's, Mercy, and a harder Yummy Yummy Yummy. also not included are the two cameo releases Beg, Borrow Or Steal and Try It. the former can be found on nuggets box set as by the Rare Breed. these two do not have joey levine singing on them (most likely a different group with the songs bought outright by kasanatz-katz). two others that don't feature levine are Saucilito (it is really 10cc) and Pinch Me (Baby convince Me), both released in 1969. the single version of Chewy Chewy can be found on the varese bubblegum series. still, the sound is great and i would give this five stars if the single versions and the two cameo releases were included.

Yummy, Indeed!.......2005-07-17
Recorded in 1969, this album is touted as Julie's lounge classic and it doesn't disappoint. Her vocals (ever so sexy/sultry) and the arrangements are in top form. All tracks are standouts, but my faves are Like to Get to Know You, Hushabye Mountain (from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), the Mighty Quinn, Stoned Soul Picnic and the title track. It's difficult to believe Julie had only one big hit (Cry Me A River), although she recorded over 30 albums and reportedly they most all sold well. Anyhoo, this is a must, order yours today!

Customer Reviews:
Great album!!!.......2006-11-20
I knew from the first time I heard Yummy back on the De La Soul album that I was gonna love anything with her voice on it and she didn't dissapoint!!! I loved the tracks from Tha Rayne and now this album has just blown me away!
For me it's more than a great album, it's a stunning first album, it's a good selection of songs, the production is tight on everything and it's just the right length!
I know some people might think her voice a tad nasal but I love that and she can sing!!!
Buy this now and have one of the best albums of the year!!!
GREAT ALBUM!!.......2006-10-18
This album is great! It's one of those albums where there's no need to skip a track, every track is a hit! The beats are hot and she can really sing! Her voice reminds me a lot of Nicole Wray, who I love as well. But don't get me wrong, Yummy's definitely got her own style. This has quickly become one of my favorite cds! (I just wish it would have been released in the US, but trust me, it's worth the money.) I'm now officially a Yummy Bingham fan.
Talented Young Lady.......2006-10-11
Yummy is so talented and this CD is excellent and then some. Her voice is so original, so different and so refreshing to hear.
She has all types of tracks the get you in the dancing mood, getting you in the loving mood or even the feel good mood.
This is definitely a CD worth investing in, hopefully mainstream will recognize her talent and we can see some more of her on TV.

Change of Heart.......2005-12-31
I'm sorry, but I have to correct myself. The last review I wrote was a long time ago, and Bill is an excellent vocalist. I dont know what I was thinking.
Cheers!
Underrated.......2004-06-29
I'm usually not too into pop, but Einstein's Sister is a whole other story. I learned about them because Kerry Tucker, Einstein's lead guitarist, is my guitar teacher, and he hooked me up with some CDs, and they're absolutely great. Described as "neo-beatles" by Tucker, they have great songwriting, guitars, drums, and bass. The vocalist, Bill Douglas, is average, and sounds better on the album than he does live. The only complaint I have is that Bill's vocals sometimes don't fit the music; his vocals are very pop and sugar coated, so when he comes in on one of the more crunchy, power chord driven songs, it just doesn't mix. This is a rare occurance, however, and can be easily overlooked. This album is great, as is their other album Humble Creatures. I would recommend getting Learning Curves first, though, as it has more stand-out, grab your attention songs. This band deserves WAY more credit and fame than they get.
Overlooked Power Pop Gem.......2004-05-28
Wow! I bought this CD at a discount, its one of the best I have ever heard. If the early Beatles, Elvis Costello and Squeeze had a love child band Einstein's Sister would be it. Now I've got to buy the rest of their CDs.
Very catchy hooks and melodies, lead vocals....great voice!

Finally, a boy band with some substance: Australia's Wiggles, a four-bloke outfit complete with an entourage of costumed characters, several videos, and their own TV show, ought to have no problem worming their way into the CD collections of 2- to 6-year-olds. Yummy Yummy, a 24-track album brimming with danceable, singable, and sometimes nonsensical songs, is largely about food, numbers, and animals. Most appealing about the group--Greg Page (lead vocalist and the Wiggle in yellow), Murray Cook (guitarist and red-shirted Wiggle), Anthony Field (another guitarist, but in blue), and Jeff Fatt (a purple-skivvied backing vocalist)--is its unabashed goofiness and pluck. In "Shake Your Sillies Out," for example, you get the feeling that, in a studio somewhere, these guys actually are shaking their sillies out, nodding their naughties out, clapping their crazies out, jumping their jiggles out, and wibbling their wobbles away. "Fruit Salad," "Hot Potato," and "Crunchy Munchy Honey Cakes" also are recipes for fun. But not to worry--"The Monkey Dance," "Walk," and "Come On Let's Jump" eliminate the threat of food-induced listener lethargy. Aside from the songs themselves, another yummy-yummy aspect of this album (and their Let's Wiggle) is its track lengths. While the "Numbers Joke" lasts only 11 seconds, the instrumental "The Chase," the record's longest number, weighs in at 4 minutes--no demands are being made on short attention spans here. --Tammy La Gorce
Customer Reviews:
Excellent!.......2006-03-25
This is one of their best CD's, and they are all good! You won't regret spending money on this one, and your kids will love you more. :)
The shelf life doesn't last long.......2003-12-31
These guys are a great intoduction into children's music. Their catchy tunes and crazy antics tickle the funny bone of the toddler set. It's great to see children's entertainers enjoying this type of success. But at your child turns ages 4-5, consider avoiding the obvious names thrust at you and advertised on day time TV, and look into titles from independent children's artists such as Justin Roberts, Joe McDermott and Ralph Covert. These guys (and Gals) are sincere musicians who open up real topics for kids supported by their own musical expertise and influences (check out the awards they have won!) Yes, there is an "Indie Children's Scene" and it's way better than the commercial stuff. If you truly are a music fan and care about quality music for your kids, it's worth doing your homework.
Buyers beware.......2003-11-18
Beware of this seller.. If you dont do what shewants then she will harass you and will not leave you alone.. Beware of Marenson228
One of the best investments!.......2003-08-18
What a great cd! This has most of the songs you hear every day on Disney (I just wish Disney would realize that there are MORE Wiggles songs available!) and it is a great CD to have in the car. I bought this one and Toot, Toot initially for my baby and just about have worn them out. You don't get tired of them and find yourself doing the Monkey Dance with your children behind the wheel. Boy, do you get the weird looks! Sure is fun! We're definitely "doing the Monkey dance" in Ohio!
Wiggles wonderful - Parents, watch your spelling!!.......2003-08-16
This Cd is fantastic! keeps the children amused while we are driving and shortens the journey time too!
I'd just like to say that there are a number of parents who review items who apparently can't spell the simplest of words. Check your spelling before you send!!!! You are setting a bad example to your kids by not being able to spell even simple words!

Customer Reviews:
Awesome!.......2005-02-28
I found Michael's music because his song "Smile" is the Free Download of the Week on iTunes. I then proceeded to get the whole album and it is great! It's so nice to see a musician making substantial music! Seems like Michael is really about to take over the music scene. Definitely someone to watch!
Thanks for making music worth listening to.
"Sway" - ing my emotions.......2005-02-28
In a time of heavy, we need a dose of light. Whether it be in a melancholy rock ballad or a twist of lyric that makes us "smile." Michael Lord has the rythmic sensibility to sensitize the listener into a hypnotic state of melody and a conscious sound of harmony. I found his music to be completely new, yet it has the vibe of something painfully nostalgic. It aches to be scored to film and dramatic television. I can't wait to hear more and I look forward to his jump to the big screen. Thank you iTunes for spotlighting this new and bright young star.
New Music from iTunes.......2005-02-27
The iTunes Music Store Single of the Week is something I always look forward to. Rarely have I been disappointed but never have I been this excited. That is how I discovered Michael Lord. Go to iTunes before the week ends and hear for yourself. It is free to download. This track has that haunting yet hopeful sound I love so much. I can't seem to stop playing it. I downloaded the entire CD. It is awesome, so awesome that I decided to send it to a few friends who are not iPod people. If you read this after the single is no longer a free download, download it anyway or at the very least copy and paste this link in your browser so you can hear this track.

Oh yeah, and "What Have You Got To Lose"... F@#$ing Amazing!!!
So refreshing!.......2005-02-25
After seeing that Michael Lord's "Smile" was Itunes single of the week,
i decided to download the song. I was so blown away by it that i went out and bought the album. It was worth every cent... each track proved better than the next! Songs like Bleed and What Have You Got To Lose? are great (and necessary) additions to the music world and truly deserve to be hits.
It is so refreshing to find a pop/rock album with meaningful lyrics and poignant melodies. I have had Sway in my car on repeat and can't get enough! If only all the music out there nowadays were up to par! Five stars all the way.
Awesome!.......2005-02-25
I just found Michael Lord's music after hearing his song "Smile" as the current single of/free download of the week on iTunes. I then decided to get the whole album here so I could have the album notes and lyrics. All the tracks on the album are great and were produced by Michael himself. I think he sounds like melodic pop-rock with very lush orchestration. It looks like Michael is really going places and judging by the songs on the album, the attention he is getting is much deserved. It's really refreshing to see some GOOD music coming out by an artist today, and I'm really excited I found this album! You will definitely enjoy it!
