Customer Reviews:
Master of the Weepie.......2003-11-19
Bobby Goldsboro was the master of the teen weepie song in the 1960s. This collection includes his great hits Honey (The weepie to end all weepies), the sensual Summer (The First Time), the mellow singalong Hello Summertime and the nostalgic Watching Scotty Grow. It also contains covers of other classics from the period like Roberta Flack's massive hit, Killing Me Softly, Perry Como's And I Love You So, Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline, Johnny Nash's reggae number I Can See Clearly Now, The Hollies' He Aint Heavy ... and Carole King's It's Too Late. This is nothing earth shattering but Goldsboro has a warm, engaging voice and there's nothing wrong with the material. If you like good songs well interpreted, this album's for you, especially if you want to go on a trip down memory lane.
A REVELATION.......2002-02-25
'Honey','Killing me softly with her song','Yesterday','Behind
closed doors','Sweet Caroline','Hello summertime','I am a rock',
'By the time I get to Phoenix', 'He ain't heavy, he's my brother' and 'Autumn of my life' reveal that Goldsboro is a
whole lot better than most people realise and this is a good
album of his second only to his 'Honey/Summer (the first time)', album which is his best with regards to the CDS' available from
this artist.
A album you can keep in your collect with pride.
