Jasmine Records presents "Put It There Pal!": Bob Hope & Friends, featuring a Salute to the King of Comedy with all of his cohorts and friends in show business...born Leslie Townes Hope (nickname: Old Ski Nose) on May 29, 1903 in Eltham, London England UK and we lost Bob July 27. 2003 in Toluca Lake California... Bob made his first film appearance in "The Big Broadcast of 1938" singing "Thanks for the Memory", which became his signature tune...the entertainment media proclaimed Hope as the "Entertainer of the 20th Century"...has four stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame...entertained the troops overseas in every war from WWII to the Gulf War...began taking his shows to our fighting forces 6th May 1941 and became the first 'honorary veteran' by Congress...hosted the Oscars 18 times including the ceremonies in 1939, 1954, 1962 and 1968.

Hats off to Geoff Milne (compilatioin & transfers), Paul Pelletier (co-ordination), Jasmine Records and of course our favorite comedian Bob Hope...Bob was one of the richest film stars ranked in the top ten highest salaried stars continuously from 1941-1953 (but not 1948)...celebrating 69 years of marriage to Dolores Hope, which holds the record for the longest Hollywood marriages...gotta love it!

Bob Hope entertained new audiences with each new generation. He changed with the times, and remained popular over 60 years. This double c.d. set includes all of the classic Bob Hope tracks!

What makes this so special, however, is the fact that it includes the original radio broadcasts which took place before the song was sung. For instance, before the Sweet Violets song, you hear the hilarious radio broadcast, just as it was heard when it was first broadcast!

All of Bob Hopes friends join in the songs. Bing Crosby is the most represented, he is in most of the songs! Dorothy Lamour also croons along in some classics. Shirley Ross, Doris Day, the Andrews Sisters, and Judy Garland are also a few others!

This set is a classic. I think any Bob Hope lover will appreciate it! Enjoy!!!
