Album Description
Kinky Boots is a likeable crowd pleaser (the capacity crowd at Sundance was laughing so hard it was hard to hear the next line). The incredible track listing follows the film touting legendary stars such as Nina Simone, David Bowie & James Brown. Also included on the soundtrack are onscreen performances by Chiwetel Ejiofor as well as classic Adrian Johnston's stellar compositions. This is a sing-a-long soundtrack in it's truest form!
Customer Reviews:
Great Soundtrack.......2007-03-09
I loved the movie so had to have the soundtrack. The soundtrack is EVEN BETTER!
Kinky Boots soundtrack is a hit!.......2007-02-26
If you liked the movie, you can't help but love the music. Even if you haven't seen it, you can enjoy Chiwetel Ejiofor's renditions of some classics, with a few new hits. "I want to be evil" is my new personal favorite. Forget how bizarre the title is. BUY THIS SOUNDTRACK!
Entertaining tunes for an entertaining movie.......2007-01-10
While some of the Adrian Johnston tracks might remind you of the atmosphere of the movie, and the classics are nice addition (fillers?), it is essentially Chiwetel Ejiofor's voice which you are seeking with this album. "Whatever Lola wants" or above all "I want to be evil" are guaranteed to plant a smile across your face and have you hum in no time. Not to omit Kristy MacColl's "In These Shoes" which could clearly be a fashion anthem.
Seven solid tracks out a full album is what I consider a good buy.
where is the missing milan medley???.......2006-09-14
the milan medley is only on the import version of the kinky boots soundtrack, and the track list above is the list for that version. its a great track, the highlight of the soundtrack and of the movie, and its worth the extra cash to buy the import version. boo to amazon for not correcting this error.
The Kinky Boots.......2006-08-02
Great soundtrack if you love sitting in "The House of Blues" if you know what I mean. Having some songs that have the word "shoes" in it, is quite easy to enjoy. The music is pretty cool and worth the listen to, not worth me listening to it constantly in my CD player, but quite fun to just listen to for a a couple of days in a row. This is highly recommended to you if you the "sit around" type of person and just "chill out" type of person.

Nobody will ever plan like Boots Randolph. He's the king. And this CD ois incredible.
A great CD.......2004-08-16
Boots Randolph is probably one of the best sax players on the planet. His articulation, tone, everything is awesome. Yakety Sax is a great song. One of my favorite Jazz songs. Get this CD if you like jazz or sax. Or just get it anyway.
Boots still knocks out the competition........2003-09-28
Boots is still the best Tenor Sax player alive! Kenny G does not even come close to him. Nobody has matched his incredible tone quality(quality of his sound). This was one of his best Cds. I hope I will get to see him perform live once again.

Requested CD.......2007-01-10
This CD was on a Christmas list for a family member, he said he truly enjoyed it. And it was so easy to find on Amazon.
What you see is what you get.......2006-11-15
Nice cd with some of the best of Boots. If you're a cw fan, you'll probably like it even more since several cuts are definitely cw.
Pretty good.......2006-07-17
It has the music the vynyl had although my memory has more depth of sound in the vynyl. I'd rather have it than not.
Lounge Sax!.......2004-11-23
Boy this CD brings back memories as it was one of my Mom's faves when growing up. Now that I'm an adult, I can appreciate it as great Lounge Music. It's kinda corny, nostalgic and fun. If this was repackaged as Lounge Music by Sony I think Boots would find a whole new and younger generation of listeners.
For Sax Lovers.......2004-01-25
If you're a sax lover, you probably want this album. I wanted a couple of songs from it, and ended up enjoying just that. An entire album of sax is a bit trying--at least for me. I really appreciate the up-tempo wailing songs, but the slower songs just reminded me that I was listening to a saxophone, which at times sounded too alone.

Album Description
"If the devil ever decided to go down to Nashville, no one would expect him to bring a sax. But if he did, Boots Randolph's name would be the first to pass his fiery lips. The veteran saxman plays one hell of a horn, if you'll pardon the expression." -- Las Vegas Sun
Legendary Nashville-based tenor saxophonist Boots Randolph presents his ZOHO debut, a collection of fourteen jazz classics. One of the most recognizable sounds in popular music, Randolph's sax can be heard on hits by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, and more.
Customer Reviews:
Superbly Boots.......2007-07-09
This CD contains an amazing variety of tunes and all played artistically. If you're a Boots fan, you have to have this recording! If you are not a Boots fan...shame on you! How fortunate that he recorded this one for us.
VERY Smooth, Classy Jazz Collection.......2007-06-30
Boots Randolph has been around for many years, his style of music may have changed over time, but here he reassures us with this fine CD that the tenets of fine jazz are alive and well. He is as accomplished on the tenor sax as anyone out there and his intuitive sense of rhythm and variation on tune lines is sensitive and so secure that listening to his music is as relaxing as an evening with old friends.
Randolph is backed by Roddy Smith, guitars, Steve Willets, piano, Tim Smith, bass, and Ray Von Rotz, drums and percussion. The interplay among these musical giants makes the finest of collaborative adventures. The songs interpreted are oldies but goodies including 'You'll never know', 'Round Midnight', 'Cry me a river', 'I'll be seeing you' and ten others. The sound is smooth, wry, fanciful when called for and melancholic for the blues works.
For an album of 'solid old-fashioned jazz' played by the gifted Boots Randolph and associates, this is hard to beat. It is refreshingly solid music making. Grady Harp, June 07
At 80 and he's still rocking !.......2007-06-14
His legendary name will always be associated with country music and to the smach hit music from Yakety Sax! (Sony), but he has long loved swinging jazz.
This album is composed entirely of classic jazz standards - what he calls "evergreens" - and none have appeared on any of his dozens of previous albums.
His history as a country star, or even before that, his experiences playing sax for singers like Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, or Johnny Cash, would lead you to believe that he'd be a little adrift on the songs on this album, but you'd be wrong.
He does very well with them, and if his breathy style isn't to your taste, you still have to admire the sentiment he puts into every song.
On every song in this collection, you will hear a master musician deliver the melody in a way that only Boots can, and you will hear the most adventurous jazz solos that Boots has recorded to date.
He is in great form and shows amazing tecnique and skills.
Pianist Steve Willets and guitarist Roddy Smith have solo space and do a great job, but Boots is the true star!
This is a delight of an album, one of his best ever.
You will be positively impressed!
My favourite tracks are "I'll Be Seeing You", "'Round Midnight" and "L-O-V-E".

Novelist Cormac McCarthy's literary vision of the wild west is given wide-screen treatment by maverick director Billy Bob Thornton and a cast that includes Matt Damon, Penelope Cruz, and Bruce Dern. Professional country music journeyman Marty Stuart has performed with father-in-law Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, and Doc Watson, in addition to a successful solo career. In his soundtrack scoring debut, he provides short, meditative instrumental pieces that are subtly explosive--rife as they are with strains of old-school country and bluegrass. Cinematic strings and orchestral percussion add a welcome menacing edge, augmenting the rustic approach without crossing over into a compromised "countrypolitan" sound. If anything, it might be nice to hear these themes extended. As it stands, the 23 listed tracks are covered in a little under 50 minutes, with many of the cuts barely lasting more than a minute or two. They stand as a new genre of cinematic country minimalism. --Rob O'Connor

Great western soundtrack.......2004-02-28
This is a must buy for fans of western soundtracks. It mixes beautifully symphonic music with Guitar music and spices it up all together with a south of the border flavor. Haunting music that will make you want to never take it out of your cd changer. It also
Features two vocal pieces, the first a spanish song sung by the very talented Raul Malo of the country group the mavericks, the second song is a beautiful ballad sung by Marty Stuart. Though I never owned any cd's of Marty Stuart he earns my respect with composing this film score.(cowboy hats off to you Mr.Stuart)

Truly Incredible.......2003-03-12
This album is a masterpiece. Within the first strums of the guitar, you feel as though you are among the southwestern hills. It has immediately become one of my favorites of all-time. The songs are filled with beautiful imagery, enchanting tunes, and haunting melodies. The shortness of the songs in unnoticable, as each song blends into the next, and the album itself serves as one epic journey. It is not meant to be listened to a song at a time, but as a whole. As I said, it is truly incredible. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone.

Started playing the sax in 1944. To this day, Boots is my favorite and I've found no one (certainly incluing me) who can come close to matching his work. All of his CDs are incredible.

Kenny G., sit down and take some lessons from a true musician! Boots is the best. Buy this CD and let 'Yakety Sax' take you away. Pick up a Donna Fargo CD while you're at it. The two compliment eachother perfectly and can set the perfect mood for a romantic eavening!

Album Description
In the early 1970s, glam rock band Slade dominated the British charts with 17 Top 20 hits, including six at #1. While their star didn't soar as high in the States, the band wasn't completely overlooked. Covers of "Cum On Feel The Noize" and "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" by '80s rock band Quiet Riot brought Slade renewed interest. Other bands followed suit with covers by groups as disparate as Oasis, The Runaways and Wonderstuff. Get Your Boots On - The Best Of Slade marks the first time this legendary group sees a domestic greatest hits collection.
Slade had a total of 17 Top 20 hits in the UK.
Slade's songs have been covered by everyone from Oasis to the Runaways but none so familiar in the U.S. as Quiet Riot's hit with "Cum On Feel The Noize" and the hit "Mama Weer All Crazee Now."
Slade's own U.S. chart success peaked in 1984 with their album Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply and the Top 40 singles "My, Oh My" and "Run, Runaway."
Customer Reviews:
Could be a lot better.......2006-11-23
Essentially this collection is Greatest hits through 1975 plus the two American top 40 singles from 1983 slapped on the end. If you like Slade, then obviously this collection is very much incomplete but if you use this CD to get into Slade, then you will probably import some of their other Cd's anyway. The CD is only 60 minutes long so there were lots of missed opportunities to include other music released after 1975 or even include some choice album cuts from the early 1970's. Had I a chance to order this again, I would opt for importing one of the more complete greatest hits collections or gone after the box set. Too bad that Slade Cd's are so hard to find in the US. Those comments aside, the music on the CD is terrific.
ROCK.......2006-11-09
This album is GREAT! I knew I liked Slade, but i hadn't heard some of these songs before. This album made me realize how amazing this band was. Literally. I had no idea these guys were so good.
Great No Frills Rock.......2006-03-15
I had learned about Slade in the early '70's by reading Circus magazine as a kid but never heard them on the radio and couldn't find one of their records. Finally I saw Sladest, bought it and turned all my friends on to it. No big guitar solos, just great fun rock and roll filled with hooks that keep these songs swirling around your brain long after the stereo is turned off. I remember finally seeing them on one of those late night In Concert type of shows and thought they looked very bubblegum with the highest platform boots I had seen. I never liked Quiet Riot and their versions of Slade songs don't have the fun of the originals.
Slayed by Slade.......2006-02-17
Unlike many 'best of'albums, "Get Yer Boots On" is a true compilation of the bands best tracks. There's no rubbish included to make up the numbers on this album, it's all fantasstic Slade hits. It's fast moving and sure to get you dancing or moving to the beat.
Big Bad Kev; - Dusty Radio, Coober Pedy Australia.
Brings it all back (Feel the Noize!).......2006-02-06
A good compilation of (some of) Slade's singles. Slade were a great band based on the fundamental notions of energy, noise, excitement and fun, and it comes through in many of the tracks, particularly the mid-1970s material. Interestingly, the lyrics are able to sketch out a story with very few words (e.g. "G'buy T' Jane"), which beats a lot of rap today.
Only 4 stars because there's only an hour of music on the CD, so 20 minutes is left blank. There was certainly other excellent music that could have been included, not necessarily singles. Sometimes really good tracks are on the albums, yet still get airplay and should go on a compilation (Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down" being but one example). Perhaps it's cut back for the US market (alas).
If you enjoy Rock 'n' Roll with energy and fun, you will probably like this CD a lot.

Well Worth the Import Fee!.......2007-03-20
Having read the reviews posted I was cautiously optimistic about ordering the much more expensive import copy of the Kinky Boots soundtrack in order to get the over-the-top finale number... and believe me (and my iTunes playlist) that the extra money was worth it... I'm not sure if people outside the car would say the same thing but I ask you... who wouldn't sing along?!

A wonderful range of campy songs and orchestral music. True to the music in the movie, it's a fun listen. Not available in U.S. stores but UK vendor was very responsive.

Sparkling trash.......2006-12-25
Here's a special piece of the Sixties - starting with the delicious ridiculous cover shot. Yeh, the tunes sound just like NS looks. Not every track works - there's obvious haste and filler - but the ones that do click are about the best kitten-with-a-whip kitsch ever made. Highlights include the bossa nova take on "As Tears Go By," a gender-bending "Run For Your Life," a pouting, jaunty "Flowers On The Wall," the 'you've come a long way, baby' folk-rock anthem-wannabe "In Our Time," the eternally outre title track ... and, best of all, the drop-dead hepest Fab cover of all time, "Day Tripper," overstuffed with Herb Alpert brass, bachelor pad bongos, Bacharach/007 'girly' backing vocals, 'boots' stalking bass, slamming drums and jangle guitar - plus NS really leanin' into it. Ice hot, babycakes!

I bought this for our grand daughter who did a dance routine to it. She is seven years old and really enjoyed the CD. This also brought back memories for us.
MORE RAW ANIMAL SEXUALITY IN A TWINKLE OF HER EYE.......2006-04-03
There are times I honestly envy people younger than myself. This is not one of them. You can have your Witless Spears and Christina Uglulara. This is the real thing. Nancy Sinatra may just appear like some girl trading off her Daddy's fame; but there was more raw, animal sexuality in a twinkle of her eye than Madonna and all her wanna-be's put together. Yeah, back in the sixties I knew what sex was and I had crushes on several girls in high school; but it was Nancy Sinatra that awoken the lustful sexual hunger in me. I will never forget it. Nancy strutting toward the camera in her mini-skirt and go-go boots with several girl dancers behind her and she sang in a smoky knowing voice that made me want her more the more she pushed me away.
I also don't want to hear any more of this B.S. about how Yoko Ono opened up rock `n' roll for other women. Nancy Sinatra knew more about rock than Ms. Lennon ever would know and showed other women how it was done while Yoko was still a pampered co-ed at Sarah Lawrence. Joni Mitchell, Melanie and an all female band called Fanny all should be considered female rock pioneers long before Ono ever comes up. But at the top of the list should be Nancy Sinatra along few others.
Admittedly, Nancy's his first album, BOOTS, doesn't appear all that promising-basically a lot of covers and several songs by an unknown by the name of Lee Hazelwood. But it was Lee Hazelwood that was the catalyst that brought out the warrior princess in Ms. Sinatra. First, he told her to drop her voice from her school-choir soprano to whisky tinged alto that ignited rivers of testosterone. While most of the covers were well known in their time, even with these Nancy made them interesting all over again. But it was the Hazelwood songs that gave Nancy the musky scent of mystery that she would be remembered for. They positively haunted me as I made my way through my school day up into the last moments of sleepy consciousness.
Later, Nancy would record an album called SUGAR in which she appeared in an amber-wheat field in pink bikini with her left thumb hooked in the side pulling her bottom down just so to be still decent enough and yet more than a little suggestive. That album sold millions just on the basis of that photograph alone. But Nancy was no bimbo and only a fool would say so. Years later, a more mature Nancy Sinatra would do a nude layout for Playboy magazine that caused quite a bit of notoriety. One can only imagine what it would have done to all us young boys and men if she had done a similar layout in the late sixties.
These days, many would discount Ms. Sinatra's career for her open sex appeal. But it was all apart of the package that was Nancy. Her voice dripped in carnal desire-it was inescapable. Many women rockers would later practically give you a guidebook to their sex lives. But, much like Hitchcock who made you think you saw more than you actually did, Nancy let you feel you had "known" her better than you really had. I am happy this music is finally available to us again.

Great CD, sounds even better than the LP I can remember as a teenager.

Its as good as you remember...Now you might read another five star review and get the straight dope.I have to admit it some of these people really know their stuff. It was the summer of 196? that my grandfather Oscar T purchased the Nancy Sinatra album and it may have been the only album he ever bought because this was the only album he ever played that summer and for the life of me I could not find an alternative, granted I did not look real hard .This I believe was the same summer Oscar T purchased an electric hedge trimmer with 2- 25' yellow extension cords. A typical day consisted of fishing in his pond, run errands and listen to Paul Harvey on the radio and then back home for a little "boots a walkin'" then chores. I would watch in fascination while he would trim the hedge, not much on TV back then.As fate would have it I inherited the hedge trimmers and extension cords, but not the album. The extension cords were yellow as I mentioned, I was doing laundry today I counted the repairs with black electrical tape where the cord had been damaged or severed by the hedge trimmers, I counted 7 which works out to one repair every 7.142857 etc. feet. I judged it safe nevertheless and trimmed my hedges for a couple of years with the same set up.Until,my neighbor came over and schooled me on the proper way to hold the trimmers so I "would not cut off my fingers", well I tried this and could never get used to the safe style and thus ended my hedge trimming efforts for a couple of years. Finally I realized the bushes were not going to trim themselves and so I decided the abandoned estate look was in, this worked for a while. Finally I tore out the bushes in the front of my house and replanted plants that required little maintenance. This left my side yard bushes, I was so afraid I would cut my fingers off, I went to Lowes and bought a nice pair of scissor style hedge trimmers, I happened upon a friend of mine at the store and he said "you know they sell electric trimmers" but I confessed to him I was afraid I'd cut a finger(s) off , he looked puzzled and I was to flustered to explain. I bought the scissor trimmers and was well pleased with their efficiency, but it was to late, my bushes where to far gone so I sought professional help and he suggested I tear the bush's out and replace with low maintenance plants, I liked his way of thinking,so it was done. I still have the electric trimmer and cord just for nostalgia, and if anyone is looking for a fair deal on scissor style hedge trimmers contact me and we can discuss the particulars. Buy the album its good stuff.
