This reissue of Don Cherry's first collection for Columbia finds him in top form, swinging his way through a dozen memorable tunes, ably abetted by Ray Conniff and his orchestra. Seven bonus tracks (originally released as Columbia singles in 1956-57) are included, featuring orchestras under the direction of David Terry (tracks 14 & 15) and Percy Faith (tracks 18 & 19).
