5 out of 5 stars She is Amazing.......2004-08-09

Jeanne Cotter is one of the most amazing vocalists I've ever heard. Her voice can be soft and angelic, or very powerful and intense...portraying deep emotion in every song. This album deals with many real life issues and experiences and is very inspirational. I have met this wonderful lady and she is very sincere and humble....give her CD a listen, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars JEANNE SHINES LIKE A DIAMOND.......2000-11-20

This album is awesome! There is something on it for everyone. Congratulations to Jeanne for her incredible accomplishment. Not only did she write ALL the songs, She does ALL the lead vocals and lays down some AMAZING piano tracks. And let's not forget the production and guest instrumentalists-WOW! Jeanne is a multifaceted- multi-talented individual and her songs, while written from her own life experiences, have the ability to find meaning in everyone's life. That is the test of a true songwriter and Jeanne passes that test with SPARKLING colors! Who hasn't known a relationship that hasn't worked out the way they'd hoped? Who hasn't had a great friend in their life but because of various circumstances they lose touch or grow apart and utter words like "I wonder what happened to them?" Who hasn't had to cope with the loss of a loved one? Or receive enough love from someone to be a better person or "dare to shine like Diamonds on the Water? The title cut is my favorite - so much so that my fiancee and I are using that at our wedding for our first dance as husband and wife. Jeanne gives HONEST words to the many emotions of the human heart. She is an amazing musician and an incredible person- this album not only deserves a listen - it DEMANDS ONE!

5 out of 5 stars Jeanne shines like diamonds on the water..........2000-03-14

I have been a music minister for the past 14 years and have watched Jeanne emerge from the crowd of contemporary church composers. At first, she was truly capable of demonstrating her strength with piano performance, but lacked the "attitude" to set herself apart. Her voice has developed from the meek, soft, timid girl to that of a full-blossomed, sonorous woman. She truly shows how far she has come on this CD, showcasing her well-earned talents. In "Diamonds on the Water," Jeanne shows that she does, in face, have "attitude." Thank you, Jeanne. :)

5 out of 5 stars Diamonds for the Soul.......2000-02-29

After a frantic day of work and responsibilities, "Diamonds On the Water" is a perfect antidote to the frenzy of today's world. Jeanne Cotter soothes and revitalizes one's soul with her spiritually motivated collection. The CD begins with the subtle power of "After the Rain," a heartfelt plea for healing and strength. Cotter's vocals are rich in tone and emotion throughtout the CD, and the saxonphone solo on this piece is rich and moving. Cotter's music is inspired by life experience, as in the heartfelt "Cassie's Song" in which she reflects on how the passing of time can change the character of friendship. She also is inspired by childhood wonder in the sweet innocence of "Balloon Man." Throughout the recording, the listener is reminded of the bittersweet nature of his or her own life and how faith and hope can sustain us. The album as a whole is a plethora of vocal strength and beautiful piano solos which takes one to a tranquil, uplifting place where hope and faith survive in our too often world of cynicism. This isn't the type of music one can adequately describe with words alone, its' nuances must be savored and studied with repeated listening. Do yourself and your soul a favor and purchase "Diamonds On the Water."
