I am very please with the product. I did have one problem. When I took the CD out of its cover, the CD was cracked. The CD played well except for a couple of skips.

Best they ever made.......2006-03-25

I have a large collection of the Four freshmen. This collection dates back to lp's.
This CD is the favorite of my entire collection.

The jokes and funtalk with this concert is somewhat dated. But the sound is great.
I heard these folks short after the concert in Holland. Numbers like -there never be another you- are fantastic. I still love the group after 50 years.

I Love These Guys.......2003-07-23

I still enjoy the Four Freshmen, and was inspired to buy some more of their music after meeting Ross Barbour at a Stan Kenton concert recently. I like the content of this CD, but as sometimes happens with live recordings,the narration is so soft the sound must be turned up high. Then the music can blow your head off if you aren't ready. Their sound is amazing, as always, and I'm happy that the tradition is being carried on by the newer Freshmen. They are great, too. I can't seem to get enough of that smooth sound.

Great names - disappointing results........2003-04-10

Stan Kenton and Four Freshmen are among the best in music of their time.I am a big fan of both them, so very reluctantly I have to admit my disappointment. Unfortunately, this concert does not live-up to their reputation. A lot of talk, which may be entertainig in concert itself, but in CD, it is a great waste of time ! And in those few minutes of actual music - none of their great songs . A pity!
Personaly I think , it does not give you a good value for your money. Listen to the samples - you will get the idea.

Four Freshment Live at Butler U........2002-05-08

I love the Four Freshmen and own much of their vinyl and CD's. This is the only disappointing recording I know of from the Freshmen. Something just didn't click with the Kenton Band here. The arrangements seem somewhat out of style with the Freshman sound and I guess there was just not enough rehearsal before hand.

just a correction :).......2005-01-18

Just wanted to make a correction that a staff change had been made for the Live in the Millenium album. Vince Johnson had taken over the baritone, and Kevin was no longer in the group. Fantastic CD, sure to please :)

Live in the new millennium-Four Freshmen.......2002-12-23

Even though the voices change over the years, The unique Freshmen Sound is still intact. This change has been going on for over 50 years and it is hard to believe how good this transition has been. Each group brings its own uniqueness and personality. This live recording includes many of the Freshmen hits from old...Route 66, Graduation Days, Ponciana, Day by Day. They have added enough newer material that makes it a good blend of the past as well as the new. This includes Love Dance (a beautiful solo by Bob Ferreira), I fall in Love too easily, Walkin' my baby back home. Their final cut is a song (Their hearts were full of spring) that the lyrics and message stays with you for days. If you like Singers Unlimited or Manhattan Transfer then you LOVE this CD.

Fairly slapdash.......2006-12-19

I love these guys, but I can see why this date wasn't released for awhile. There are a number of places -- primarily where someone has to come in for a solo -- where they should have just stopped and started over again, but they soldier on, to everyone's embrassment, I'm sure. They also do a little bit too much clowning around for my taste. And it sounds like the tape on the machine stretched here and there.

If you're new to this group, get a studio date first. There are plenty of good ones at the top of Amazon's list. I was looking for "Girl Talk," though, and couldn't find it on a studio date.

Four Freshmen: Fantastic in Florida!.......2001-07-21

This recently issued 1971 live performance by the Four Freshmen is a real find. It's a good fit with two other live CDs -- "Road Show" with JuneChristy and Stan Kenton and the "Live at Butler University" concert -- that have been around for several years. Ross Barbour, Bob Flanigan, Ken Albers and Bill Comstock are the Freshmen for this 19-tune CD. It's a mix of old stand-bys like "In This Whole Wide World," "Angel Eyes," "Route 66," "Poinciana," "It's a Blue World," "We'll Be Together Again" and "Graduation Day" with some lesser-sung (by this group) songs like "Misty Roses," "Bird Avenue" and "Come Back to Me." I suspect this one won't be available long, so order it now.

hearing these great guys makes me (at 71) feel young again...GREAT...SIMPLY GREEEEATTT! THANKS AMAZON!!
