Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Song, Great Remixes.......2003-05-31

As a fan of the Cardigans---even after being bombarded by "Lovefool" incessantly---this is one of the best duets I've heard in a long time. Tom's style is boisterous, while the Cardigans are more subdued and easy-going---but it works on this song. And while the remixes aren't likely to heard on a dancefloor anytime soon, they are fun to listen to.

4 out of 5 stars strangely compelling.......2002-10-17

First of all, Tom Jones gives me the heebeegeebees. I think his covers of 80s and 90s pop songs are just hideous, BUT this one somehow works. Tom's loud vocals carries this bombastic, pumped up take of the Talking Head's tune well and Nina's suggestive and tongue in cheek voice blends in nicely.

The 4 star rating is for this song only, the other tracks on the disc are just more examples of Tom Jones belting out hideousness.

5 out of 5 stars a fantastic cover and then some..........2000-07-30

i've got the album that this comes from and was attracted to the single because of the remixes. this single is (in my opinion) the best track off of a fun album.

the remixes are good - although not as dancey as i would have liked. you'd probably do better with the single version if you're creating a party tape. (and this song definitely belongs on a party tape!)

however, the two bonus tracks - a cover of emf's "unbelievable" and the beatles' "come together" are worth the single price and shipping and handling. these two tracks are live and it certainly shows why mr. jones inspires such rabid reaction.

for those of you who are curious the remixes are both of "burning down the house" one called "delakota mix" and the other called "pepe deluxe mix."
