Smooth jazz fixture Randy Crawford has a wide-open, expansive voice that's soothing yet not soporific, laced with a jazzy élan and precise phrasing that lends itself to adult contemporary pop as well as the R&B "Street Life," her hit 1976 collaboration with the Crusaders. She's the female equivalent of Al Jarreau in that neither are jazz singers, but both boast way too much musicality and grown-up reserve to really slug it out in today's R&B/pop market. Crawford's vocals are sheer bliss through the pleasing Permanent, though some fault lies in the uneven material. For every soulful, moody cut like the Albert Hammond-penned ballad "I Get a Little Burned" and the insistent title track, there's a throwaway like "Merry Go Round," which comes across as a Lifetime network anthem and finds Crawford confessing, "Our love is like a merry-go-round / Sometimes it's up, sometimes its down" with more dignity than such clichés deserve. Just because you can sing the phone book doesn't mean you should. --Amy Linden

Amazon.com essential recording

One of Rush's finest moments, second only to Moving Pictures. This album includes two classic songs, "The Spirit of Radio" (which has one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in all of rock) and "Freewill." There's also the epic-feeling "Jacob's Ladder," as well as "Entre Nous," a sort of intellectual love song (if such a thing can be said to exist). The introspective "Different Strings" and the anthemic "Natural Science" (which clocks in at over nine minutes) close the album. Though there are only six songs on Permanent Waves, it's enough; the material is rich enough that more of it would be like overdosing on chocolate. -- Genevieve Williams

5 out of 5 stars The Awesome Prelude To Moving Pictures.......2007-07-08

Apparently we die-hard Rush fans have a little war going on amongst ourselves as to which album is the best Rush album of all time. Some say Moving Pictures is the pinnacle (myself included) and some say Permanent Waves is clearly the better of the two. All I have to say about that is 1. Permanent Waves is a great album, hands down and 2. The production of Moving Pictures make it a superior album to Permanent Waves. Sorry, but it's true. Now that we have that out of the way, let's move forward to the review of Permanent Waves, one of Rush's greatest albums. After the excellence of A Farewell To Kings, Rush continued to hone their craft into a more FM radio-friendly sound and Neil Peart continued to create great lyrics along the way. Short and sweet and to the point, Permanent Waves finds Rush at the peak of their prowess as far as song construction goes. Let's take a look at the song listing.

The Spirit Of Radio - One of the all-time great Rush tunes along with Closer To The Heart and Tom Sawyer and so many more. This is awesome. A nod to the greatness of radio as a whole and the freedom of musical expression. The clever homage to Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound Of Silence" is great and most people don't notice it. S&G: "...the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls...tenement halls!" Rush: "For the words of the prophets were written on the studio wall....concert hall!" Both great songs. One of Rush's best.

Freewill - Another killer tune. Freewill was a live stape for years and years. A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance. Neil's lyrics shine here. Perfect.

Jacob's Ladder - A brooding, moody epic tune. Again, Neil's lyrics are inventive and clever. Alex wails here. An often-overlooked song.

Entre Nous - Middle of the road Rush. If Permanent Waves has a weak link, this would be it along with the next tune. This song isn't terrible in any way, it just doesn't have the punch of the earlier tunes.

Different Strings - Much like Cinderella Man from their previous album, Geddy wrote the lyrics here. This song starts out slow and light and pretty much stays there. Geddy isn't a bad lyricist, he's just not Neil Peart. The diet coke of Rush, just one calorie, not Rush enough.

Natural Science - I was delighted when they started to do this song live a some of years back. It's always been one of my favorites. In the same vein as Cygnus X-1 and the latter The Camera Eye, Natural Science is one of the multi-part mini-concept songs that Rush was so good at creating. Computerized clinic, for superior cynics, who dance to a synthetic band... Awesome!

All in all, Permanent Waves is a great album. Entre Nous and Different Strings and its production keep it from being as truly great as Moving Pictures, but it is very close. Always one of my favorites, you wouldn't go wrong starting out here if you were new to Rush. If you are an old fan like me, it's clearly one of their best efforts!

Dig it!

5 out of 5 stars One of a number of personal favorites........2007-06-18

Enough has been said about this album already by others that anything I add would simply be superfluous, except to suggest that, aside from Geddy's different vocal approach (probably brought about by age as much as anything else) this would be the last album where Alex would be the star attraction. Whether that was a conscious decision on his part, a collective decision made by the group as a whole, or just a genetic mutation is a subject perhaps Neil should write a song about! Suffice to say that, as a guitar player for 30 years, the solo in 'Freewill' is still, today, up there with the best that May, Gilbert, Satriani, et al can put forward.

wonderful C.D from Rush, they are the best musician in the world.

5 out of 5 stars A classic album (4.5 stars).......2007-04-06

Consider this a 4.5 star review.

Permanent Waves is one of Rush's best albums. This is a total 180 degree change in direction from the prior album, Hemispheres; the songs on this album are much more accessible and radio friendly. Geddy Lee's singing also started to be singing, rather than screaming, starting with this one. Even though this is a 27 year old album, it still sounds fresh and current. Every single song on this album is a winner (my personal favorites are "Freewill" and "Jacob's Ladder"). I think the only negative about Permanent Waves is that you can start to feel the limits of Terry Brown's production abilities starting on this album (which is why Rush dropped him two albums later). Anyway, this is a classic album and highly recommended for any fan of good rock music.

5 out of 5 stars Rush blasts into the 80s with an epic..........2007-02-16

1980 Not my favorite but it has it's moments. Terry Brown is back giving the album a great sound but not the best production of RUSH's 80s catalogue. There's more acoustic guitar in this one (compared to other RUSH albums)& lifeson is using a lot of distortion on his electric solos. Peart is still using ludwig drums (he goes to TAMA on moving pictures onward) & they sound great with alot of fullness & power. Geddy Lee's vocal range is only continuing to evolve here but his bassing is muted & much less complex & his keyboarding is fairly simple or absent. Lifeson was never a huge fan of heavy keyboards & it showed on this album as geddy's pattern's were simple & short. There is alot more space in this album as the guys are not as busy in their instrumentation (especially geddy). Overall, fewer tempo changes, less extra percussion, fewer complex bass parts, & fewer dominating keyboard patterns. This album is heavily dominated by lifeson's guitar playing. One notable moment is in the song different strings where geddy lee is playing a rhythm piano which is very rare in a RUSH album & the only time that I can think of (to hear piano in a RUSH album). notable songs are spirit of the radio (of course), jacob's ladder, & natural science. Don't get me wrong... I love this album but I think that lifeson had a heavy hand at the arranging end of this one. It's still an epic & has endured to become a classic album.

While Done with Mirrors marked the beginning of Aerosmith's remarkable career comeback (and a gratifying return to rollicking '70s form), this is the album that both reclaimed their widespread fame and made even longtime cynics take notice. Fresh from rehab, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry lead the band through a strong collection that rivals such previous high points as Toys in the Attic and Rocks, though in a much more pop-oriented vein. That's largely the province of producer Bruce Fairbairn and hired-gun songwriters Desmond Child and Jim Vallance (hired upon Mirrors' commercial disappointment). But on this record, those outside influences are still largely invisible, even if Fairbairn's production sheen now seems '80s generic. Fueled by the playful staples "Rag Doll" and "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)," and seasoned with the Delta blues fetish of "Hangman Jury" and, of course, a patented Big Power Ballad ("Angel"), it's an album that's become all but ubiquitous. Thankfully, the band's own gritty sensibility still informs tracks like "St. John" and "Girl Keeps Coming Apart," as well as a rambunctiously reverent take on the classic Beatles B-side, "I'm Down." --Jerry McCulley

5 out of 5 stars Very Good.......2007-07-08

This is a wonderful album. It has been out for a while, but I just got around to getting it. All the songs on here are great. My favorite is "Magic Touch". I wish I would have heard more of these songs on the radio. A big plus is that all the lyrics to the songs are included in the insert booklet. I highly recommend this CD. It didn't get the credit it deserved.

5 out of 5 stars Best Comeback Album ... Ever.......2007-03-23

The second album after Joe Perry and Brad Whitford were back with Aerosmith, and the first not "under the influence" is a tour de force rocker that smokes from start to finish. "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", "Rag Doll", "Hangman Jury" and the title track are all classics and the rest of the tunes all keep the action coming. They also do a great cover of the Beatles' "I'm Down", the B-side of the "Help" single, a typical McCartney tribute to 50's rockers like Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. The "Bad Boys" are back!!!

5 out of 5 stars The Big Comeback.......2007-01-25

The first album from the now "sober" Aerosmith and the beginning of their huge comeback that has continued to this day. Some people look at this album as a sell-out due to the influx of outside writers and the general polished sound of the album. Personally I think it rocks. The band sounds rejuvenated and there is a lot of great material to be found on this disc. The album spawned the huge hits "Rag Doll", "Dude Looks Like A Lady", and the lame "Angel". Overall most of the rest of the songs are good to great Aerosmith. "Hangman Jury" is cool. "Girl Keeps Coming Apart" has a nice Joe Perry guitar solo. The title track is a nice rocker and they even throw in an instrumental called "The Movie" which works quite well too. Overall I think this was a great comeback album.

5 out of 5 stars good stuff.great stuff........2007-01-07

wow!!i just heard a new song from this band that i really loved which is instrumental and it is called the movie and i think it is one of the best instrumental songs i have ever heard.the first instrumental song was a song by metallica but this one by aerosmith is even better as it rocks even harder.i played it 7 times yesterday and i thought it was a great driving song.aerosmith made lots of great driving songs that are excellent for highway bangers.just now i was listening to that song on the vinyl and i thought how that song sounded way back in 1987 even though 1987 was a long time ago i wasnt even born in that time but it sounded good too although i like it better in my car. i love this album and other great songs like dude looks like a lady rock really hard.my favorite songs by aerosmith are the movie, dude look like a lady, janies got a gun, sweet emotion.the 1980s were my favorite years in music as there were more than 20 great albums in every year in that decade with numerous hard rock anthems.please get this if you love hard driving rock music. id play this on the road!!

5 out of 5 stars Slick & Polished Record - A Great Comback For Aerosmith.......2006-07-12

BAND: Steven Tyler (vocals, piano, harmonica), Joe Perry (guitars), Brad Whitford (guitars), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drums & percussion).

THE DISC: (1987) 12 songs clocking in at approximately 52 minutes. The digitally remastered version released in 2001. Included with the disc is a 10-page booklet containing band photos, song titles/credits, song lyrics, and thank you's. Recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios, Vancouver BC, Canada. Label - Geffen.

COMMENTS: Two years prior, "Done With Mirrors" (1985) marked a comeback of sorts for Aerosmith. The Toxic Twins were supposedly sober and ready to take America by storm, again. Decades later, the band is still on top of the world - giving us fresh music and selling millions of albums. Looking back, the late 70's and early 80's were a rough period for Aerosmith. Jack Daniels was the beverage of choice for band members, drugs, infighting, and ultimately guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford went their separate ways. 1985 saw them back in the studio - wanting to cut an album, wanting to rock & roll... and "Done With Mirrors" proved they could still do it. With "Permanent Vacation", Aerosmith proved they were still a hit making rock machine. "Vacation" was professional, slick, and polished. 12 fabulous songs filled with catchy hooks, modest tongue-in-cheek humor was present again, and a few huge hits to boot - "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", "Rag Doll" and "Angel" - marking their return to form! As much as the hits received major airplay, the deeper album cuts were simply gems... the 1-2 punch of openers "Heart's Done Time" and "Magic Touch" get the album off to a rocking start. Perry's blistering guitar work on "Simoriah" and the title track. Ultra cool swaggering songs "St. John" and "Hangman Jury", their first Beatle's cover "I'm Down", as well as the closing instrumental "The Movie". Thoroughly listenable - every track. As much as "Permanent Vacation" saw the band gelling again, it was a welcome comeback for one of America's all-time legendary bands. Classic disc (5-stars).

Album Description

Maintaining strong indie credibility, this platinum-selling Milwaukee bred alt-rock triop has been called the "original unplugged band." The raw power of their no-frills yet highly emotive acoustic sound-plus the lyrical heft of Gordon Gano's songs-made the Femmes postmodern cult heroes with enormous staying power. In his notes to this, their first career-spanning collection, Rolling Stone's David Fricke states, "The Violent Femmes are what rock & roll must have sounded like at the creation." Hear it on 16 classics including "Blister in the Sun," "Add It Up," "Gone Daddy Gone", "Nightmares," and "American Music."

2 out of 5 stars They Still Can't get It Right.......2006-04-26

Okay, so they're trying to do a proper "Best of" for the Femmes again, and for the third time (counting one import-only) they still can't get it right. It's so annoying when a band who you really love (they were one of my first concerts) puts together a greatest hits package and_it seems intentionally_omits some of the songs you really enjoy and/or hold to be sacred. On Add It Up, their first GH, they somehow found the space to include an answering machine message and the mediocre rant I Hate the TV, but omitted their cover of Children of the Revolution and the wonderful Nightmares. Now, Permanent Record thankfully restores those two, but only gives us 16 songs to AIU's 21(!!) and drops several significant tracks, including the frat party favorite Dance, MF, Dance, the bouncy Out the Window, and the great politically charged Old Mother Reagan (It's only about a minute and a half long, people, you can't tell me there wasn't room!) in favor of their later, lesser work on New Times and Freak Magnet. The good thing about this version is the inclusion of the extended Gone Daddy Gone/I Just Want to Make Love to You jam that shows the Femmes' roots were in acoustic blues as well as punk the way Jesus Walking on the Water exposed their folkie leanings. Maybe someday we'll get the great Violent Femmes anthology that's just waiting out there to be released, but until then, I guess it's back to iTunes for me.

2 out of 5 stars Only a fan would love it..........2005-12-05

Permanent Record: The Very Best of Violent Femmes

If you're into edgy, indie rock with raw, sometimes shocking lyrics then Permanent Record: The Very Best of Violent Femmes is for you.
Having only really heard Violent Femmes' more radio-friendly tracks such as Blister in the Sun, American Music and Children of the Revolution, the rest of the album was a completely new experience for me.
And a bit of a shocker at that.
From the lusty Gimme the car, which is all about a teenager begging his dad to give lend him a car so he can take his girl out, then goes on to describe exactly what he will do to said girl, in detail, and what she will do to him. And I'm not talking about an innocent trip to the drive-in here.
Then there are the usual angst-ridden tracks about being young and broke, as well as the extremely politically-incorrect track Black Girls, which would probably have resulted in a few disillusioned white groupies.
This is clearly an album for fans of the group which have been around, underground, for a very long time.
If you're not such a big fan, I'd give it a miss.

4 out of 5 stars About as good as it could be........2005-09-12

There are some who would call their self-titled album their "best of", and while it is a great album, this is a good collection too. The first five tracks here are from that album, and are well chosen. Then a couple from "Hallowed Ground", and a couple from "Blind Leading The Naked". From "3" we get only "Nightmares". I personally love that album and still think it's underrated. Toss on "American Music", "Color Me Once" from "The Crow" soundtrack, and a few more of their later songs and this is a fine overview of the Violent Femmes career. If this also included "Prove My Love" and "World We're Living In" I'd have no complaints. Still, this is most of the best.

4 out of 5 stars Not for young ears ! Great energy !.......2005-09-07

Everything I expected with an additional shock here and there. It was a great way to introduce my fiance to this group. Right up his alley.

This is a great album w/ catchy songs. I bought it after I saw the video for Until You Leave on FUSE. They write songs that are radio friendly & catchy just like Panic!

    2 out of 5 stars Emo...So Much Emo..........2007-03-22

This band is another emo band. That's right, another. Permanent Me sounds much like Cartel, a band that wasn't even good to begin with. Yes, this album does have it's moments, but lets face it, this band is just a big rip-off.

4 out of 5 stars So you heard this is where Goth began as a music form. . . .......2006-03-03

If you've heard OF Joy Division, but don't really know them apart from the frantic sex scene in Donnie Darko, this is a great place to start. The disc contains some of the more ambient works, and many of these are pretty accessible to first timers. To describe the sound to someone unfamiliar with JD, I would have to say that they are driven by pulsing percussion, complex guitars, and an indefinable something straining through, holding the whole together like a fine cord. The lyrics are morose, and simple, yet express complex truths.

The sound quality is apparently better on CD than it was on tape, for I didn't notice any sped-up vocals. Yes, it's a cd compiled of music originally intended for vinyl, and that comes with inherent difficulties, but it came across pretty well for all that.

I have to admit that "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is my touchstone for their music, so the remix at the end didn't bother me one bit. I have to concede that it isn't too different from the other version on the album, although it does have a bit more of the sort of uplifting background melody so noticeable in Atmosphere, (a truly divine work) which serves as a prophecy of the New Order sound.

All in all a worthwhile buy to anyone who is just learning of Joy Division, or doesn't have the cash for the box set or for replacing their records and tapes on a one- for- one basis (when possible).

    4 out of 5 stars good compilation.......2005-12-29

This is a very good Joy Division compilation, especially for those who are new to the band. If you already have Substance, Unkown Pleasures, and Closer, it would be foolish to buy this compilation because several of the tracks are repeats.

Anyways, onto the music. There are 2 versions of the song Love Will Tear Us Apart on this compilation, and i find both versions are superior to the regular version that is found on Substance. The energetic "Transmission" and dark and powerful "Atmosphere" are both EXCELLENT tracks that were never on either of Joy Divisions main releases. Also worth noting is the dark and angry "Dead Souls." Several songs from their 2 albums Unknown Pleasures (the version of She's Lost Control on this compilation is NOT the same as the version on Unknown Pleasures) and Closer.

Although this is a good compilation, if i had to choose between this and Substance i would probably go with Substance. Substance is a more diverse compilation and has more tracks, and it only costs 9 bucks on amazon right now. If you are new to Joy Division and looking to buy, I recommend Unknown Pleasures, Substance, and Closer.

5 out of 5 stars More Heart and Soul than Gutz!.......2005-12-22

Substance was an attempt to spread the genius of Joy Division to a larger audience, the general public, a year after the New Order release of the same title. It includes some of their early "punk rock" style tracks like Warsaw and Failures, that the kids like so much, along with songs that are easier, more managable to the ear of the masses like Atmosphere and LWTUA. Don't get me wrong, however, Substance is without question fantastic from start to end!

Permanent, on the other hand, reveals a different sound, a darker one. An outpouring of human emotion through music not heard before or since. Songs that had an impact on the crowds, the bands they played along with and even themselves. The painfully honest outcries expressed so humbly within the lyrics of Ian Curtis, the pounding, aching bass lines and the precise and simple guitar riffs played to perfection that were not driven by ego or pretense, that just were. Day of the Lords, Twenty Four Hours and The Only Mistake to name a few.

If you want to listen to one of the most influential bands in modern music history, don't turn on your radio, check out Permanent, a brilliant collection of the heart and soul of Joy Division's music. But, do yourself a favor and listen to both Substance and Permanent because Joy Division came to an end abrubtly, before they ever reached our shores, and every recording they left us should be heard!

4 out of 5 stars atmosphere over aggression.......2005-10-26

the cold embrace of any Joy Division song off of Permanent is enough to convert the newcomer to this splendid band. the bass and drums rattle along with timed precision as the guitar slices large gashes in the sound with a snarling graceful smile. the vocals emphasize emotion and atmosphere rather than the rage and aggression that was the punk trend of the day. this collection contains some of my favorite Joy Division songs ("Transmission", "Shadow Play", and their classic "Love Will Tear Us Apart") and is a pretty good place for the JD newcomer to begin their search.

5 out of 5 stars Just think of this one as a good mix tape .................2005-07-08

Ignore the whining weenies who insist this collection has no merit. This is a very good intro to the band. Ordinarily I DO prefer albums, especially if they capture a time, place, theme or something else that holds the songs together in some way. But I don't feel that UNKNOWN PLEASURES or CLOSER (the band's only 2 "official" album releases during and shortly after their brief lifespan) necessarily make coherent wholes, although they both maintain a certain doom n' gloom atmosphere. I think PERMANENT is a stronger collection of songs than either of these individual albums, taking key tracks from them both as well as some essential non-album material.

Overall, I think it's also better than SUBSTANCE. Even though that collection has some essential material that's lacking on PERMANENT, it also has some early songs that sound too much like run-of-the-mill rock n' roll. Some good ones are duplicated on both.

I agree with other reviewers that the remix of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is a useless re-hash. Personally, that one's far from my fav Joy Division track anyway, although it may be their most popular.

This band rocks (rocked), but in a very cold and detached way. Their music is definitely from the dark, often depressing side of the fence. Ian Curtis had an alien-sounding voice like no other. Hardly virtuosos and not always the most melodic band, but their music often has propulsive energy and intriguing rhythms, and they really were something unique (that is, until the various newer Goth bands jumped their coat-tails, some of them great, some not-so-great-to-pretty-awful). If you're new to Joy Division, PERMANENT is probably the best single disk introduction you can buy. After listening to it, you'll be in a good position to know whether or not you'd like to pursue listening further, in which case I'd go ahead and pick up their 2nd album CLOSER, or you might want to go ahead and spring for the box set as another reviewer here recommended.

NOTE - The reviewer complaining about the mix being poor may have a good point. All I can say about the sound is this: the cassette tape I have (which I picked up back in '95) SOUNDS well mixed to me except for the fact that it plays a little faster than it should. Strangely, I still think it sounds good (maybe even better - the slightly faster pace is more rockin' and the slightly higher pitched vocals are icier), but hey, I'm no perfectionist/audiofile. Still, I would think in all likelihood that the CD has been reproduced successfully without this little problem. But if this still sounds like something that might annoy you, then pick up CLOSER, the SUBSTANCE collection or their debut UNKNOWN PLEASURES - all quite worthy. But there's not a bad track on PERMANENT, and since the "Love Will Tear Us Apart" remix at the end can easily be skipped in favor of the original - 5 stars. Assuming new copies of PERMANENT were transferred properly, it's the introduction to the band I would recommend to a newbe.

    5 out of 5 stars Permanent!.......2005-10-07

This is another strong cd in Randy's catalog, 'Permanent' is another underrated gem! This cd should've done better(well at least it did better overseas where Randy has a huge following!) Nice covers of Dionne Warwick's 'Alfie' & Stevie Wonder's 'All I Do', and the classic 'Wild Is The Wind' which Randy makes sound so new, other highlights are 'I Get A Little Burned', & 'Merry Go Round', it's a shame we don't get well crafted music like this often!

5 out of 5 stars When will Randy get her just desserts?.......2005-02-28

I've loved Randy Crawford's voice for a long time. I've picked up her cds at various times in my life and her voice has always inspired me. She is like Patti Austin simply riveting vocals and so good LIVE!!! This cd is awesome. I am stuck on song #5 "The Sweetest Thing." I wish I could have a mixed version of this one song. It would include Randy singing acapella then just the instruments. The song makes me feel like I am soaring and the lyrics are simply gorgeous. I play this one song about 10 times a day. The rest of the album is classic Randy. Song # 5 just outshines them all in my book.

    5 out of 5 stars Simply Fabulous.......2004-10-11

This album is simply fabulous! From start to finish, each song tells a story. Her voice is warm and very emotive. Recommended to anyone who enjoys music with substance.

I just loved this CD from the first time I heard it. An excellent work. I don't think there is a song on it I don't like. "Wild as the Wind", "Merry Go Round", and "Permanent" are my favorites.

5 out of 5 stars A beautiful work of art.......2002-02-28

I had never heard of Randy Crawford until Christmas of 2001. I received a gift certificate from a department store and used it to buy Randy's CD titled "Permanent" and glad I did. She is AWESOME! What a beautiful work of art and a powerful, high octane vocal range she has. All the tracks in this CD are good from start to end. It was the best gift I received for Christmas that year. My personal favorites are "When I Get Over You", "Tell It To Your Heart", "Permanent", "Free The Child" and "Fire And Rain". If you like R&B, then I highly recommend you buy this cd. You will not regret you did.

This CD features 6 of the classic HIJACKED customer service calls, including 4 calls from people trying to track packages, an insurance company call, and one for an auto lube business. In September 2002 the LA Weekly reported that UPS has tried to stop Infestation Records from selling this CD and "Customer Service Disasters"! This is the 2nd of 4 CD releases. The first 3 are called "Touch-Tone Terrorist" and the 4th CD is called "the Junkyard Willie Prank Call Tapes".

This was my favorite and I think the best one of the series, to include an Angry Willie inquiring to a worker in an office building who messed up the restroom, Jim Bob as a semi-retarted and near illiterate man conducting a survey on the drinking water, and Blade setting a package on fire with a gold watch. And even more interesting, an entire skit with Repete's natural voice as an apathetic customer service rep for a delivery company.

Totally uninspired. They put Radiohead to a string quartet but there's no personality to it, they've just drained Yorke's voice away and replaced it with a replica on strings. If only they had brought their own vision to the work instead of trying to reproduce it on different instruments. To coin a phrase: there ain't nothin like the real thing.

He tripped on my pottet begonias and went headfirst into a row of daylillies waiting to be put into the ground. He was out cold for 3 days, and i listened to this cd, which he had in his german fanny pack. I can't decide if the vomit made me listen, or listening made me vomit. Either way it was delicious, i'll have seconds....mmmmm maybe thirds. oh dear im naughty, somebody punish me.
